Absolutely amazing, you put so much work and time in your devlogs, and the game is phenomenal, even though you only get 6 days,its one of the only games i actually had fun playing, keep up the amazing work.
Quick Idea :You should make a splash potion (when you upgrade it, it could be like uhh.. Acid, fire, explosives or any bad liquid. You could also buy it from the riverman guy.) Each upgrade would give it a higher radius too You should also be able to fish near the waterfall which could give you random stuff. The armor should get damaged whenever you get hit by the cursed panda. The cursed panda should also have a boss which if you kill unlocks a new tier of armor. In the end... it was not a quick Idea lol😂 Amazing game! I love it! Keep up the great work!
For the succ, make a big swooshie cone(?) that comes out of the vacuum like a vortex, and give it a transparent windy texture and scroll the UVS so it looks like the wind texture is sucking in

Wow what a great devlog! Youve added and changed so much! Also, considering the weapons going through walls problem, idk about unreal but in unity i use a seperate first person camera that only renders the weapons, and this forces the weapons to always be rendered on top of everything. Cheers!
That's kind of what my side project is doing. I forget all the technical jargon, but essentially Unreal doesn't render the same way as Unity and its actually impossible to use the double camera method you mentioned inside Unreal. So it requires more of a workaround with the World Position Offset material function, but you get pretty much the exact same result.
I had a idea for your game, to make it so it doesn't go on infinitely which will eventually make it boring to people who have played it for so long I had the idea to make it so that it would only run for 100 days, and for every 10 days that passed there would be a boss fight. Also has a little extra thing you can actually not do this if you want, but you can make it so that some of the cursed pandas could have armor or some could have weapons like some could have pickaxes to break the walls easier or some could have wings to fly which will actually make people want to equip the roof segments. Wow! Amazing new things, great job! The dialogue was very well done. For the vacuum, you could do make that the particles are few, more random and that they appear from a cone instead of a line/rectangle(that's how I saw it). And congratulations! Seeing your girlfriend want to play more tells you that you're doing an incredible job and progress!

This game looks amazing! Ive been watching devlogs for a few years now but have never come across your channel. One thing I feel would be cool in this game is adding fun facts during loading screens, maybe about pandas or mushrooms! I always love when games do that haha. If you want an example of a good vacuum slime rancher (1 and 2) has I think a good looking effect, and I think it would fit this style well. Also I think you should be able to suck a night pandle into the vacuum, have him get clogged at the front of it, and then be able to launch him as a projectile at other night pandas
Love your videos, I am working on a survival game too. I Havent gotten to the artistic part myself yet, but as a hobby-3D Artist I really like the soft stile you are going for
If i can suggest some things, i have quite some : 1. A glider, you can glide, and it can hurt enemies, as you grab the enemy, the spike will hurt the enemies, it can carry both the panda king and the enemies, BUT the enemy can hurt you, and the spike will hurt the panda king 2. A new weapon! Called "SpikeBall", a... well.... spikeball... And some new variations! : A. BluntBall (the first stage of the 3, low damage but fast cooldown) B. WindBall (2nd out of the 3, mid damage, but blows the enemies away, and also mid cooldown) C. TimeBall (3rd out of the 3, high damage, slow cooldown, and can lays spikes around the Ball after 5 seconds on the ground, with high damages spikes, but the Ball only lays 8 spikes per use) 3. A NEW NPC!1!1!1! It's a Trader/Enchanter, it can trade your item for another item, and it can also sharpen your weapons, its name could be "Jack Honeymoon" or "Sir. Tradington" 4. 2nd weapon, its literally just a bamboo stick, on Fire stick, its called "FlameBoo", yet again, 3 variations : A. FireStick (low damage, slow cooldown, can attract the dark pandas to it, and can slowly burn the dark pandas) B. Flaml (low damage, fast cooldown, bigger radius to attract the dark pandas, can set the ground on fire) C. Foolcano (Super high damage, suuuuuuupeeeeeeeeeeer slow cooldown, attracts dark pandas close to the king, burns the dark pandas instantly) 5. A helper panda, called "Atlethic Panda", when the dark panda is carrying the panda king, the Atlethic panda will catch the king and toss him to you like a rugby player, and a minigame will start called "Catch and Toss", when it starts, every dark panda will chase you around, and when they get close to you, toss the king panda to the Atlethic panda, and your goal is to juke the dark pandas, and put the king back in his throne which ends the minigame, but the dark pandas is still there, which brings me to the second panda helper! 6. "Ninja Panda" will disguise itself as a Dark Panda, as he will grab a hold of the king panda, and run away to put him back to the throne. And the Ninja Panda will help you defeat the dark Pandas
SUCH A COOL GAME. i played the demo and i love it. theres only one thing i would change. You shpuld let the player knwo how much health a monster has left by something like a healtba or something like that :D
I don’t know if someone already suggested this or not but maybe like you can see the wood getting sucked into the vacuum? Like little wood chunks getting sucked in to the vacuum.
I love your videos and have watched everyone of them (I think this is the first time of me being late to one of your uploads). But I think an outline shader would be great for your game (For everything not just npcs and such)! I just added an outline shader before watching this to my next full project and it made a WORLD of difference! I also took awhile looking for an outline shader that would work with unity hdrp because 99% of the tutorials were for urp. PS: I loved your intro!
Have two camera one for normal rendering, the world then add another camera in the same place for rendering the layer only in which the weapon or tools exist and make that camera from base to overlay and stack it in the main normal camera and now the clipping doesnt exist, it takes like a minute to do, very easy, the camera rendering the fps tools and weapons now exist in a different world so it doesn't clip.
Hey just thought maybe you could make it so in addition to the medkit you can eat singular bamboo that don't heal as much but are consumed faster. Also with the vacuums particles it might look better if you have the particles fade in over time and move side to side more. Anyways I love how the games going and can't wait to see how it grows!

Hey, bro, you should make a multiplayer mode like I think it would just be really cool to play with my friends and stuff. Like build castles together, build separate castles and protect the panda, maybe there should be, like, several pandas. And by the way, another feature you should add is being able to address your panda. Like, make clothing for your panda and stuff. And put it on them like a Cape or something. A cool idea is boss waves. Imagine this. You just barely beat night 10. You start to get ready to start building your dream castle but then, with out warning, a gigantic evil panda spawns in and starts a fight. This would be so much fun and you can do so much with this. Maybe the hammer stuns him or you can grapple onto his back and wale on him. Another idea is setting traps. Such as pit traps, spear traps, fling traps,etc. which would go great with the new bosses.
Fishing would be cool and relaxing. Also bombs that u could throw And a glider like in zelda. Also a big map would be very cool Also will this gane get food or energy sytem? Bc having a campfire and grilling a big ass fish that u just caught would be cool. Also if the panda wakes up it would be cool if u have to feed him to set him back to sleep. Or something like that. Map ideas: caves with mine shafts and bucket lifts Lakes for fishing and boat driving Villages with merchants (so u would need to travel the world) Rivers (would work as roads for ur boat) Hills would be dangerous and would have soul panda outposts that u could raid for resources and souls. Alos if u would go on a journey always take ur pnda with u and carry a sleeping bag for him 😊🐼 Maybe u like some ideas.
An idea is that there is a weather cycle like disasters acid-rain and volcanic eruptions. And maybe you can get a blueprint for a weather-o-meter or a weather reader from the merchant. Also if you do take damage you can get apples from the trees, and you can also grow crops from farms you make and you can get the blueprint from the merchant and you can make a shovel to dig mounds of dirt and make a farm with a stone shovel and watering can.
Make a secret boss where if the dummy gets hit enough it becomes a huge eldritch horror that is insanely powerful and when killed drops b o b ‘ s s o u l Which when shown to the mushroom merchant he says something about “that thing” and “the Armageddon” and maybe b o b was like an ancient monster that ravaged the lands. U can add more lore later b o b t h e c o r r u p t e d o n e
BRO for your game, make it so that, with enough resources, you can create your own king-bed-chair-pedastal (the thing that the king sleeps in) so that it would be a show off item and make it a bit easier to do stuff Just a quality of life thing really AND ADD A CURSED PANDA BOSS Seriously this game looks great, cant wait to see more stuff from you! :)
I would love to see some kind of multiplayer aspect to the Game. Maybe there could even be a mode where one player is part of the horde and the other player protects the castle.
Grass idea that I can't attest to as I haven't tried it, but if you are spawning grass via the landscape material I bet there's a way to pass in the runtime virtual texture as an additional mask on top of the landscape grass mask.
Played through the demo. The enemies seem like they have no obstacle avoidance, they will just run into random walls that they could just go around. Because they follow the closest target you can just lead them away and sit out of range shooting at them. The enemies should target doorways and weak spots on your wall and when they can't reach the player, they should target the king. The cannons should damage the base and kill the king if hit. It would add a lot of fun if you could do 2 player split screen. It would be nice if you could hold the left mouse button for the swords attack so you didn't have to spam it. The enemies should also steal your supplies out of your chest if they can get to it. I would add a weak spot to enemies that when hit with an arrow does major damage, but I would make the arrows have more drop making the bow harder to use but rewarding if you're skilled enough. I would like if you could move the king's throne, but I understand why it's not an option. I don't like that you can't build out of bounds, but I understand the many problems that it would cause if you could. I like the mining system and I like that you can man the cannons rather than have them automated. There is a glitch when you talk to the wizard before he docks it pulls your body towards him and into the water, when you are done talking to him you are falling to your death, and on respawn you are still falling to your death. I understand this is an indie game made by 2 people with no budget, I'm just giving my thoughts. Overall awesome, fun and impressive game! Keep it up!
Make the dusk period (if you have one) before the wave comes longer and make the river man only appear during dusk in order to further his creepy atmosphere.
Maybe there could be an easter egg with the river man, because since i believe that its supposed to be three otters in a coat right. So i think you should have it to where if you dont talk to him for a while, when you do afterwards you can interupt the otters talking to each ither and have them shocked. Sorry about the essay but i think it might be a funny touch. Might also be fun to do with the other merchants.
Maybe since there’s now main danger you should add a boss every 20 nights, it could be a tree and the attacks should be like undertale where it attacks and it gets tired and also maybe is branches when they are like broken or something that signals he’s about to be tired and you can hit him and also grapple on to the branches if they are weak.

in addition to sleeping, the king asks for food from time to time. a lot of food, if we feed him enough, he gives some buff. the game is very cool

Since you like animating you should make it so whenever the king's bar is going down the king's face will be increasingly more enjoyed

The NPCs are looking fantastic! The game looks so cute!
You should add some bosses or buffed pandas as well maybe making new islands as levels so the game doesnt get that much repetitive

Unreal engine doesn't support that type of rendering! Hence my other two workarounds

I would love to see some kind of multiplayer aspect to the Game. Maybe there could even be a mode where one player is part of the horde and the other player protects the castle.
Grass idea that I can't attest to as I haven't tried it, but if you are spawning grass via the landscape material I bet there's a way to pass in the runtime virtual texture as an additional mask on top of the landscape grass mask.
For the grappling hook, I heard the sounds of plastic or flexible rulers sound nice when you pull then let go.
Played through the demo. The enemies seem like they have no obstacle avoidance, they will just run into random walls that they could just go around. Because they follow the closest target you can just lead them away and sit out of range shooting at them. The enemies should target doorways and weak spots on your wall and when they can't reach the player, they should target the king. The cannons should damage the base and kill the king if hit. It would add a lot of fun if you could do 2 player split screen. It would be nice if you could hold the left mouse button for the swords attack so you didn't have to spam it. The enemies should also steal your supplies out of your chest if they can get to it. I would add a weak spot to enemies that when hit with an arrow does major damage, but I would make the arrows have more drop making the bow harder to use but rewarding if you're skilled enough. I would like if you could move the king's throne, but I understand why it's not an option. I don't like that you can't build out of bounds, but I understand the many problems that it would cause if you could. I like the mining system and I like that you can man the cannons rather than have them automated. There is a glitch when you talk to the wizard before he docks it pulls your body towards him and into the water, when you are done talking to him you are falling to your death, and on respawn you are still falling to your death. I understand this is an indie game made by 2 people with no budget, I'm just giving my thoughts. Overall awesome, fun and impressive game! Keep it up!

Make the dusk period (if you have one) before the wave comes longer and make the river man only appear during dusk in order to further his creepy atmosphere.
Maybe there could be an easter egg with the river man, because since i believe that its supposed to be three otters in a coat right. So i think you should have it to where if you dont talk to him for a while, when you do afterwards you can interupt the otters talking to each ither and have them shocked. Sorry about the essay but i think it might be a funny touch. Might also be fun to do with the other merchants.

Maybe since there’s now main danger you should add a boss every 20 nights, it could be a tree and the attacks should be like undertale where it attacks and it gets tired and also maybe is branches when they are like broken or something that signals he’s about to be tired and you can hit him and also grapple on to the branches if they are weak.
