Frostpunk is a city-building survival videogame developed and published by 11 bit studios. Players take on the role of a leader in an alternate-history late 19th century, in which they must build and maintain a city during a worldwide volcanic winter, managing resources, making choices on how to survive, and exploring the area outside their city for survivors, resources, or other useful items. The game features several scenarios to undertake, each with their own stories and different challenges.
The Stupendium is a London based musician, animator and content creator, creating weird, wonderful and usually incredibly nerdy songs and animations. Join him on his journey to obscure, niche internet stardom! He has some pretty decent videos, wonderful facial hair and a great sense of discomfort describing himself in the third person.

I'm sure there are quite a few people who watch reaction videos instead of seeing the original, but personally I have always viewed reactions as a way to rewatch the vids/songs I enjoy from a new perspective. When reactors break down the songs as much as you do it isn't taking views away from the original creator because at that point people who want to just listen to the song would click away and the people who are still watching your vid are here mainly for your reactions

it is pretty thin line, some reactors do indeed offer new/different view on video, and music videos are indeed rewatchable. The problem is with people who simply watch a video, dont really say anithing significant about it, and then upload that claiming it has "new content"

This is the only song I've ever heard that gave me chills multiple times per listen. Its how my brother and I found the Stupendium, and I don't regret it a bit
Each chorus got a more churchy ascetic and then in the frospunk battle 'a purpose for new london' stupendium represents the religious choices. So its an interesting continuity to the 2 video, a couple modified lines show up again too. If you check it out Dan bull n stupendium last verses are on their respective channels videos.

The mercury line references the way thermometers were made in 1700.
Really love the detail in your reactions and your lyric breakdowns. So much better than the countless reactors who just nod and say “oh yeah” a couple times.

13:29 speaking of people thinking insane what you do in this game, a hidden emergency rule you can sign is Cannibalism, for if your people are starving for too long yet a few have food so everyone is at the edge of starvation, most of your people will die getting this law
Love the original, think the remix hits even a bit harder. In terms of a Dan Bull link, if you haven't there is a Stupe + Dan Frostpunk collab as well, "Faith vs Order"!
I was a bit sad that you didn't point out the transition in the scenery. At the start, the first chorus showed people freezing in the hallroom, while Stupendium alone was singing.
The second chorus showed multiple stupendiums standing together in line with all holding their arms onto their chest like military. Red flags from the order techtree hang from the ceiling.
Then later it shows the same room, with the red flags torn apart and the room is cold, no fire heating up the temperature.
Then at the third chorus, as you then pointed out, all is filled with the faith tree flags, candles lit everywhere.
After the first chorus, they also change up their body language inbetween the chorus. Where they represent the order side, they stand tough and devout, and where they speak about faith, they look up into the sky with raised hands.
It's the part of the video with the lyrics "Trust the censor, shun dissenters, hunt and flush them out", here they stand tough representing order.
"Keep the faith and trust there's grace behind the thunderclouds", here they look up with raised hands.
The thing that stands out to me is the fact that the video shows those scenes of Order and Faith trying to inspire hope and FAILING to do so, The order scenes show the broken windows, the torn down flags and the cold creeping in, and the faith ones, while they're warm and full of people, they never actually show any kind of progress.
It's not until the final scene, where Stupendium in the guise of the Captain wears a YELLOW scarf standing among the forges, not the red of Order, nor the Purple of Faith, as the people of New London themselves are the ones singing that final part, they refused the extremes of Faith and Order, and instead they threw themselves into the furnace metaphorically to fuel the generator so that future generations would be left with more than just a city and a generator, so that they will be left with the hope of a future were the soul of humanity itself survives the winter.
''And as we fall, we know we die to light a better day'' The old videos were Order vs. Faith trying to justify their own extremes to survive the storm, while this one instead shows the unbreakable will and hope of the people in a better day carrying them through the winter without having to resort to extreme measures that might ruin the city's future.

some people thing child labor law is bad or soemthing but when you actually play the game and think about it. you all are about to die of starvation and cold. get up and work is much better than die doing nothing.
dude i saw this video in my recommendations and i love it! can you do "a purpose for new london" next? there's 2 versions, one from the stupendium and the other from dan bull, but the only changes between them are the last verse iirc. thanks :)

I have no idea when they changed, but if you check their video descriptions? They have a paragraph explaining who they are and what they do, and they use they/them to describe themself. I know it used to be he/him, but I cannot find any kind of a coming out post, not that I've looked too hard. And they don't feel like the kind of person who really makes a big deal out of it, anyways, so it's possible they came out by just... changing those pronouns.
@@ValeOfMuses The only confirmation I'm aware of that they've stopped using he/him is in an awkward place. I (so, this account) asked about it in the comments of their Find the Keys remaster and got a reply from them.

I think it's a bit much to hand over ALL your income from the reaction videos. If it were me personally I'd do like 50/50. If you were just reuploading the video without adding anything then yeah that would be fair, but you are adding your own commentary and thoughts to it, so I wouldn't say you're stealing content and it's fair that you should get at least some of the income the videos make.
