Every theory in here is a real video, I think there are around 40 different theories references throughout the song! Yes, they did a theory on devising the theoretical Pokémon Markiplier would be most likely to 'smash' after Markiplier did a Pokémon 'Smash or Pass' stream.
MatPat met the Pope as part of an event where the Pope met with a lot of youth 'culture leaders', most of whom were content creators. Everyone there presented the Pope with a gift relevant to their fields and MatPat presented the pope with a copy of Undertale for its pacifistic messaging. He got a lot of flack for it before making his reasons clear and 'give it to the pope' is a bit of a Game Theory meme now.
If memory serves, Sans' theme, Megalovania, was played by an orchestra at a Vatican event later and the Pope seemed to recognise and enjoy it, suggesting he did actually play the game!

'Sans is Ness' is such a famous theory, Scott Cawthon literally pulled strings for the script of the FNaF movie to have Matpat's name in the movie be Ness.

Logan Paul straight up gave the Pope a book about himself and people attacked Mat for giving him a gift about how kindness is the best choice. I'm pretty sure someone else gave the Pope weed and they catch less flack for that than Mat caught.

The Diet coke line was the fact that matpat has an unhealthy obsession with diet coke he mentions it in many videos. Also the markiplier one was after he smash or pass video on all the pokemon game theory tried combining his most smashed pokemons to create the perfect one and mark reacted to it by just saying 'pass'. the grocery store and hamburger lines were from food theory, first was how long could you survive on the food in a grocery store with no power, and the second was the best order of items on a hamburger. The pope line was when matpat met the pope he gave him a copy of undertale a symbolic gift about a game that you can choose peace in to win.

The line about Markiplier is a reference to his video where he played "Smash or Pass" on more than 800 pokemon (hilarious video btw) and Matthew decided to do a theory calculating the most "Smashable" Pokemon for Markiplier.
After presenting his findings, Mark viewed the video, and simply replied with "Pass."

Game Theory's "Sans is Ness" video is among their most infamous and widely memed on theories, up there with "Wario is 10 Feet Tall" and "Why Mario is Mental". They're also _very_ old.
And how 'long' is Luigi represented by the ruler on the table

Not as famous, but he got a LOT of flack for his Persona 4 theory because it's so blatantly incorrect that it gets disproven in the literal first 5 minutes of the game.
Fun fact matpat's editor (nicknamed head editor dan) made the video for this song, so its riddled with easter eggs to mat and his gaming channel gtlive, also the blue one is "style theory" made this year

The ScottsGames teaser line is in reference to the website where Five Nights at Freddy's teasers were posted, so you got that right.
But the line about them being brightened is a reference to the common trend of FNAF teasers needing to be brightened to reveal a spooky secret or lore clue in the background.
Also, the FNAF Box is a lingering mystery from back in FNAF 4. It is literally just a locked chest that appears out of nowhere in a black void, and when you try opening it the text "Perhaps some things are beat left forgotten, for now" appears. It has been around 8 years and we aren't certain what was in that box.
Also also clap and a half is a running bit from GTLive, the Game Theory channel that's used for reactions and actually playing games.

The bit about wrapping theories up in a bow and giving it to the Pope is actually based on something MatPat actually did:
He gave the Pope Undertale and got a lot of hate for it
The actual explanation he gave for it was pretty solid TBH. He said that Undertale is a game about diplomatic conflict resolution and compassion which he thought was both an important lesson and in keeping with the current Pope's less regressive policies.

The cannibalism thing was actually a three part thing across the film, game and food theory channels. Film was Wall-E, Food was the M+Ms, and Game Theory was Only Cans. It was called cannibalism week, obviously, and he's made a sequel to the Wall-E one.
"Volcanic pressure washer coughing" is a ref to a theory about Pressure Washer Simulator and how the town is near a volcano and the ash is why everything is so dirty and why the air quality is so bad everyone coughs
To add to this comment, the act of pressure washing the houses is actually what's causing the issues. When volcanic ash gets on stuff, it has to be handled a particular way that straight up pressure washing isn't capable of.
Everything he says is a theory they made, the "can full of human souls" is from Only Cans, the game that has a Stupes song as theme song and MatPat made a video on that too

Ian did react to the Logan Whitehurst Memorial Award for Excellence in Comedy Music-winning song "Vending Machine of Love" (back to back following "Rip & Tear")… and was in a position to know VMoL won that award before Stupes knew.
This video is chock-full of references for those who are fans of Game Theory; additionally, because Stupes worked with GTLive, they hid an 'ARG' (Alternative Reality Game) within this video, requiring you to reference other Stupendium songs and decode multiple messages to get the answer. The level of detail here is staggering.

15:29 "Keeping companions fed" is referencing Cooking Companion where Team Theorist made two theories on the indie game (one for the base game and one for the DLC) which incorporated some Slavic folklore in the story. Honestly, it's my favorite indie game that I've never played but know so much about thanks to MatPat and Team Theorist.
I Think the new facet is called Style Theory, I might be wrong. Let's get into this awesome tune together. Stupes' laugh is my absolute favorite part.
The Diet Coke mention comes from MatPat's meme-y addiction to it. There's a fun Food Theory where he tries to replace it with something he finds just as delicious, but better on his internal systems and wallet. The dogs inside the TV is from an amazing VR game called Duck Season, that seems inspired by Duck Hunt, the classic shooting game from way back when. The dog's lore in Duck Season goes much deeper, and (Spoiler ahead, ahoy!) goes full surreal horror on us.
MatPat went to meet the Pope, representing gamers and TH-camrs, and actually gave him a copy of Undertale. He felt so strongly about its message of Mercy, and how your choices can completely change a game's story. So many people shredded him online over it, but the other gifts given to the Pope that day included a selfish plug or were just plain inappropriate.
Food Theory did cover how to stack the best burger (not Burger Time-related), it was a lot of fun to watch. There was also a time when he and his wife made dinner and machine-dried their laundry at the same time, with the same appliance.

The chicken nuggets was from a puzzle game called "kindergarten". Marionettes are also from FNAF. Matpat did a theory on the power washing simulator game claiming it was set near a volcano or something. During the fan art they had a glitchy version of the game theory intro playing in the background. In case you were unaware a clap and a half is something Matpat does, mostly on his gt live channel. The pope line was also because Matpat met the pope and gave him a copy of undertale.

You asked if there's a "Baby Shark" theory & as Mat Pat is the parent of a young child, a demographic for whom the song was inescapable a few years back, there indeed IS a "Baby Shark vs. Real Sharks Parenting Practices" video on Film Theory. Having to absorb LOADS of entertainment directed at his young child has inspired a few theories. (Spoiler: Sharks don't actually raise or associate with their young, nor do they mate for life.)
With Theories going back to 2009, with contributions from multiple hosts & spreading out to multiple channels, rest assured NOTHING was simply made up for the video, EVERYTHING is a reference to an actual video on one of the Theory channels.
The Theory team actually put together the video so even the backgrounds are chock full of the 14 years worth of theories on the various Theory channels.

Comment on the Pope line. Not only is it a very funny rhyme, its also a reference to the time Matpat got to meet the Pope and he gifted him a copy of Undertale. You can look up the details of it but just the idea alone sounds like it shouldn't be real lmfao.
Sans IS Ness. It's all but verified officially at this point. It's one of his best researched and most detailed theories, and Toby Fox has referenced it multiple times. But it was so controversial at the time that he had to take the video down because of death threats.
It's a shame it got so controversial. I actually liked the theory, and knew Matpat was a big fan of Earthbound. He also does these theories for a laugh, but also to get people to think about games and other media more which, honestly, is a good thing. I like trying to figure out why things happen in games and movies outside of it just being for effect.

Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but the hamburger stacking line is referencing a Food Theory video. He did a video trying to determine if stack order of the ingredients mattered and just how much it mattered, which I think was followed by a video trying to determine which ingredients were best to have on your burger in the first place.
The pope part is a reference to when Matpat gave the pope a copy of Undertale, so it's extra awesome how he fit that it

Also, the "Give to the Pope" part? _Actual Game Theory!_ MatPat gave the Pope a copy of Undertale when he was selected to meet with him to talk about stuf, and the episode was about why he did that.
I always assumed that was part of Toad's head, like, they're mushroom people, if they didn't have that they wouldn't be.
You'd think, but there's also official Mario content that shows otherwise, including a clip from (I think) a tv show) where Toad uses the mushroom cap on his head as a parachute by removing it and holding it above him.
The TV show also had Mario bust out a lightsaber

The line about the Pope is reference to when Mat Pat (the guy who runs Game Theory) gave a steam-key for Under-tail to the Pope, because of it’s pacifism message.

ScottGames was the original FNaF website before it became a AAA property. Scott Cawthon was the original creator, and between FNaF 1, 2, 3, 4, World, Sister location, and Pizza Simulator (and maybe Ultimate Custom Night but idk about that for sure) he made teasers that he changed, and the pictures often we supposed to be brightened up to see hidden details, and some had hidden code in the website people could check for lore hints. Since he made most early FNaF games in only a few months each time (often releasing the games earlier than expected), there was a time where the fans always had news for the series almost daily sometimes.

As quite a big game/film/food theory and GTLive fan. I can confirm that everything you hear is a theory. Every word, image and symbol in the background and foreground has some kind of meaning or nostalgia. Nothing is added just because. And that honestly adds so much more to the production of it 😊 And the short clip of Ronnie at the end just hits really hard too. Genuinely as a fan this video was absolutely incredible and completely packed. Each second was amazing.

Not seeing anyone else saying it, so at 26:11, the theory was actually about the emoji for burgers. Specifically, the emoji for "burger" is actually different on different platforms and devices, so they did a Food Theory on the best order to stack burgers in, based on different emojis. And then, to get a bit more of a "professional" option, they also compared the emojis to Gordon Ramsey's stated order for stacking burgers.

10:21 Scottsgames is a website owned by Scott Cawthon, the creator of FNAF, where he usually posted teasers for upcoming FNAF games. The secret with these teasers js that you could find hidden clues or details if you brighten the image, hence the "already bright enough" line.

Yes, every theory mentioned is an ACTUAL theory on one of the theory channels. (The burger one is about them figuring out the best way to stack a burger based on different shows, chefs, and emoji icons: and the Baby Shark was a suggestion from a fan on GTLive)

This was honestly one of the best reaction videos I've watched. In general, definitely the best for the song.
Oh! "Volcanic pressure washing coughing" is a reference to a pressure washing game that got insanly popular once, but people noticed something was off with it so matpat did a theory where he finally decided your character was cleaning volcanic ash off of houses, but not actually getting rid of it and was, in the end, ruining the environment and was probably slowly killing everyone there.

I take no credit for this, but in the comment section for either 8Bitdrummer doing his cover, or the OG video, someone pointed out something really interesting, along with Stupes saying that Team Theory actually made and edited the video for the song(before gifting it to him to run on his channel, when Stupes had originally just requested to be able to run bits to link back to the video being hosted on Theory Channel).
They do the chorus 3 times.
The first time, they have pictures of the OG crew of peeps that helped get Game Theory off the ground.
The second time, it's all pictures of the current staff.
The third time?
It's the pictures of all 4 of the hosts that Matt confirmed will be taking over the various channels.

So this song is a reference to not just game theory, but all of the channels met that has had.
Its so sad that you don't understand all the references because if you did it would be 10x funnier but in all honesty...It's better to keep your sanity and not slip down the rabbit hole that is the game theory channel with all its add ons 😂
