Thank you for posting today! Most of the channels I sub to only post on Thursday or Friday. It's nice to see new content earlier in the week and not a flood on one day.
I might have done the holes for the handles _before_ attaching the side rails, unless they were an afterthought, of course. The countersinking would have been a bit easier. But great jigsaw board, I need to make one and this is the design I'm gonna follow. Most woodworkers I've seen here on YT want to overcomplicate with fancy angles, drawers and covers. This is all that is needed. 👍
I have found those Ravinte handles to be really nice. Getting a box full of them for a great price is awesome. I keep four or five kinds on hand for trays as I build them.
I think that might be the nicest puzzle tray I've ever seen and you made it so accessible to make! I may need to make one of these for my parents cottage...my nieces tend to lose interest way before the puzzle is done, so this would be a great solution for those multi-day puzzling
Late to this party but i LOVE this! My only dilemma is my wife and I i like to do puzzles that we glue and frame. Not just for fun to assmeble and then disassemble, and then assemble again at another time. Now thats just crazy. 😉 The dilemma is how to get the completed puzzle out of the box to glue and frame. I'm thinking one of the "rails" could be fastened with a hinge system that would swing down. Or swing out. Still thinking about that, open to suggestions. But love everything else about this video!
I love it! I've been working on designing a puzzle tray, but I have way too many requirements. With my cats and dog and a couch that you can't slide anything under, I'm going to need a cover for mine. As with most things, I love overengineering. I love what you came up with though, fit's perfectly in your living room and looks really beautiful! Great job as always!
Nice project! You need some saw horses or something for your track saw so you don't have to get down on the floor. How do you like your 1F are you using it much?
I actually don’t mind doing the full sheet stuff on the floor. I don’t have to lift the sheet very high then. ;) yeah, I’m liking the OneFinity a lot and using it a lot!
Nice project, Bruce. My wife enjoys puzzles too. Maybe I’ll make her one. Do you think 1/4” plywood will work? I need it to be bigger so I need to use light weight material.
I probably didn't talk about the dimensions because it depends on how big of puzzles you want to use. Make it however large you want. So, me telling people who might not know what a track saw can do is a commercial?
The dimensions are pretty arbitrary. I just made it with scraps I had on hand and the size that was a little larger than the previous one we had. You can really make it however large you would like.
You might have been ok shooting the nail in the corner if you kept the nail gun vertical instead of horizontal like the rest of your shots. It changes the orientation of the nail head. Great video. Just a thought.
I changed the orientation of those shots (good eye, BTW) so the nail would not come shooting out of the side piece. Then, this happened to the front of it. Ha ha

Glad I could keep you entertained!
Such a great way to keep puzzles "active" but out of the way!
We seem to have "active" puzzles pretty much all of the time. ha ha
Nice job Bruce! That could come in handy for board games too!
I didn’t even think about that! It could make a marathon game of RISK go on even longer. Ha ha
Looks great. The only thing I would add is a green felt covering on that ply.
Thanks! I think the felt would be a nice touch.

Yeah, I should have done the holes for the handles before attaching. Oh well, it worked! Thanks
Love this thank you!! We are going to try this!!
It’s handy to have for puzzlers
I have found those Ravinte handles to be really nice. Getting a box full of them for a great price is awesome. I keep four or five kinds on hand for trays as I build them.
Great idea! And they're inexpensive enough that it doesn't hurt to just have some on hand when you're ready to use them!
@@BruceAUlrich yep! I am finishing up my CNC cart (using Drew Fisher’s plans) and grabbed four of the 3-inch handles for the drawers today!
Cool and simple project!
Appreciate that, Matt!
Great build, Bruce! That looks great.
Appreciate that! We have already been putting it to use!
That's a great solution! Came out nice man.
Appreciate it! It’s nice for my wife to be able to put the puzzle away and bring it back out another time.
Nice tray. It would be a nice top to Fisher Shops game table. Beautiful work!
That would be a good combo! Ha ha. Thank you!

Yes! Multi-day puzzling is a great way to put it. It's nice to just kind of put it away and then come back to it when you're ready.
Nice video. Glad you were able to fix that blowout with the nailer
Nobody loves a blowout! It's all about the cleanup. ha ha. Thanks!
Happy puzzling, Bruce! Props to Alexander for being man enough to go shirtless.
Ha ha. I’m sure not man enough to do that! Happy Puzzling!
Great project Bruce!
Thanks, Greg! I resisted the urge to engrave my logo in the back. Ha ha
Looks great! Man i don’t even remember the last time I attempted a puzzle
Thank you! My wife definitely has more patience with them than I do. I like them here and there, but she always has one going.
Love how simple it is!
Thanks so much!
This is a great idea! What size is it?
Thanks! Sorry...this comment got buried. This one is 24 1/2" x 29 1/2". We just made it large enough to accommodate the largest puzzle we had.
Exactly
Is that the inside or outside dimensions?
Really beautiful work, Bruce! It looks great! 😃
I hope your wife loves it!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! She does love it! She can finally get to that larger puzzle because it’ll fit.
Love it
Thank you!

Use some tiny magnets on one of the rails and you could just remove that rail when needed.
@@BruceAUlrichinteresting idea! I'll have to look into how to do that. Thanks!
Looks awesome Bruce! You will never have to pick up puzzle pieces off the floor again 😂
Ty well, we still have infinite puzzles for the kids and can’t make a tray for all of them. They’re quick ones though!
Cool project Dude! 👏👏👏
Appreciate that!

Thanks so much! One with a comer sounds interesting!
shud have a thin top you can clamp on to lock the pieces, cous if you have animals or kidz you need to stow it in different places :)
Not a bad idea

I don’t think I would go that thin. You could do 1/2” though. And you could go thinner for the sides also.
Who else would the saw belong to in your shop , it’s obviously (Mine) 🤣 Great simple build. Great job buddy!
Ha ha. One can never be too careful! Thanks!
I don't see the dimensions anywhere. It seems more like a track saw commercial. What are the dimensions?
I probably didn't talk about the dimensions because it depends on how big of puzzles you want to use. Make it however large you want. So, me telling people who might not know what a track saw can do is a commercial?
@@BruceAUlrich Dimensions are important. And, yes it does look like a track saw commercial. Track saws are expensive.
What are the dementions?
The dimensions are pretty arbitrary. I just made it with scraps I had on hand and the size that was a little larger than the previous one we had. You can really make it however large you would like.
Another great video, Bruce! Quick question... what’s with the “MINE” sticker on your saw?
Thank you! Rather than it say "Makita" it says "Mine." I don't know, just a dumb joke. ;)
First - although I feel like I have a slight advantage haha
Ha ha. You do, as my official thumbnail advisor.
@@BruceAUlrich With great power comes great responsibility haha
@@EthanCarterDesigns Ha ha. Yes!
Wait is that your track saw or the guy who wrote mine on it? Ha I love the felt pads tip that’s a nice simple addition!
He doesn’t need this little saw back. ;) felt pads can save your floors.
@@BruceAUlrich better yet they save your table too
I made a similar tray, except we use it upside down as a cover because we have cats 🐱😉
Oh that’s a good cal! Cats like to swat those pieces around. Ha ha
I'm about to make one because of cats!
Ha ha. We have a kitten now so I might need to modify ours.

Track saw commercial
Because I explained how to use one for those who might not know? Did I ever mention a brand?
I would definitely need to put a cat proof lid on that. 😂
ha ha...yeah, I've heard that from a few people.
I would rather saw the bolts than clip them, just to avoid shooting a piece of aluminum to God knows where.
Ha ha. Good point. I did find them but it was tough.
