Once our children thought it would be fun to mix up ALL of their puzzle pieces. It took several days to right the situation. We came up with the idea of stamping the back each piece and the inside of the box with one particular stamp. When we later would come across an errant puzzle piece we could easily know where it belonged.

I am so glad I cam across your video! I was really cringing at the prices online for a puzzle board/table - especially when they’re not big enough for my bigger puzzles (2500-5000 pieces). I think I can talk hubby into making this for me since he has all the tools (but doesn't trust me to use them and not hurt myself!). Im thinking about lining the bottoms of the drawers with felt, maybe the work surface too. Now to find a way to add a “lid” to it … !

Love it. I think I will add a fabric cover to protect the pieces while not working on the puzzle. I think two thin dowels with fabric, and a couple tabs on outside of frame to stretch fabric dowels over should keep from kids or cats losing pieces!

I *just* bought a jigsaw puzzle. It will be delivered on Thursday. A few weeks ago I also bought (2) 6’ folding tables, one for my garage and one for my office/craft room. I have a small house (960 sq ft) and take care of my grandsons who don’t go in my craft room. 💡 I CAN do jigsaw puzzles! Lol. I used to do them all the time with my daughter. She was 10/11. Now she’s almost 33.
I only got 500 pieces so I can ease on into it!
I drool over your tools. I did buy a Ryobi jig saw based on watching you! You should tell them we do buy what you use!
Can you link that saw? It looks pretty cool. Maybe not as cumbersome as a full on table saw?

Thanks for your awesome Explanation. After viewing your vid, I am planing to do a Puzzle Board of my own, to fit it my way. But i've got a question left: why didn't you do a closed railing on top? Is there a reason you left the bottom "open" without a railing?

I am searching hard on video and blog, but a cut list would be most helpful….for instance..the wooden strips are 34 inches by 1 inch by what exactly - no size is given as far as I can see. Panel boards are not all the same you see.. sorry to be picky, but I cannot start without a full list of materials and the rest is sooo good.

I just priced as well but my calculations differ. 2 pieces of tempered DMF $24; 1 piece hobby board $5. So, not $20 like I figured, but $30+tax at Home Depot is still reasonable. I need the tools too so I’ll be spending well over $100 I’m sure. Hope your board came out great and how you wanted!
