I've written this on the previous Unblah workout video, but writing again to encourage anyone watching. I'm a fitness instructor. And I weight train and regularly workout at home as well as teaching classes. HOWEVER, I have been holding heavy weights and walking for one minute as you suggested a few months ago, and I was surprised to find I could barely hold 50% of my body weight at first, much less the recommended 75%. I'm happy to say that that exercise has become part of my lifting routine, and progress is being made (I'm up to 65% doing it only 2-3 times a week)! It works many muscles at the same time. My arms, I think, have improved greatly after adding this exercise. And they look so toned!
I love this! I do it too, I can lift about 30% of my weight, I'm improving and I feel so much better! That was such a simple yet ingenious unblah advice!
I've worked out at home for decades. A lot cheaper, no excuses, no elaborate equipment. I can understand why some need to be around others to get motivated though.
Me too. My morning routine includes exercise. I've always found it's easier to be consistent if I workout at home. When I have to take the time to drive to the gym, I just can't be bothered. There are plenty of great fitness instructors on TH-cam for any type of workout you may want to do.
Same. I’m lazy, but accepted in my early-40s that my body requires some amount of daily exercise to operate effectively, so I had to figure out how to make my fitness regimen sustainable for a lifetime. It’s undergone iteration, but I’m getting it dialed in for efficiency & efficacy, and I do it all from my BED! It’s calisthenics where I opt for compound exercises, and the rest isn’t walking or biking to do my shopping. I’m able to maintain or gain strength, and at 50 (in a few days), I can now easily maintain my weight. I sure wish I’d learned about intermittent fasting when I was growing up! I just assumed I was doomed to always fluctuate with my weight, but nope…I was just eating too much for my metabolism, and that would never change. For anyone reading this who hates gyms & isn’t sporty, per se, try to get your low-impact cardio in by WALKING, whenever possible. If you live in a place where it’s suitable to go shopping on foot (I also have a foldable push cart from MAC Sports, that holds up to 300 lbs…HIGHLY recommend it!), do that. If you can carry everything home in a tote bag or two, you get to do some resistance training, as well. This is literally the easiest way to maintain your weight and keep you metabolism up, since shopping is something we have to do regularly.
I'm a fan of leotards. I love the ballet aesthetic for my workout. So instead of a sweatshirt, I'm wearing a ballet wrap top. At a recent Christmas party, I wore a royal blue leotard with a black velvet skirt, a wide, brown leather belt with a big, silver medallion buckle and a long, Santa Fe shawl mostly blue and purple yarn. A little cowboy chic, a little ballet beautiful. I really love your channel!
I have been a regular at the gym and Silver Sneakers online for many years. Then I started working out with a trainer and a group of seniors several years ago. We’ve been through good times and tough times together. We are at different levels of fitness, but love working out as often as we can together. We just had our Xmas party yesterday. I like to look good when I go in,but buddies and laughter keep me going. We have attracted some new seniors and the gym owner even gave our group name and made us a tee shirt with the name he gave us.
It definitely helps to have fun with your gym clothes and not come at any of this with an attitude like you’re not supposed to care what you look like at the gym, and it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing. I’m a bright spring so I wear color coordinated tops and bottoms in my color palette, I have gym shoes that coordinate and I only use them for the gym. I have a special gym bag, and I wear the same makeup I would normally wear to do anything, except I usually match the sparkly and multichrome eyeshadows to the color of my workout clothes for the day. And I wear fake diamond studs (in case they fell out or something) because something is off otherwise, and sure my hair is in a ponytail or a bun but I try to be as much myself there as I can. I definitely stand out but I like to have fun with my outfits and if I don’t put in the effort I am going to be a lot less confident and not try as hard and want to get out of there as fast as I can. People regularly compliment me and say my outfits brighten their day! Nobody should be shamed for wanting to wear makeup at the gym or for caring how they look. It isn’t a contest to see who can look the worst. It should be a fun place to go and make progress in your life and cultivate discipline and determination. Your clothes can be a really easy conversation starter and help you meet new people! I am married and go to the gym with my husband but there are lots of friends to be made there. Having people you know at the gym also increases the chances you keep going!
Diana, great pep talk. I work out at home and I always dress well and do makeup first. I'm also investing in a chin up bar, so I can work on my grip strength, as you recommended in a previous vlog. I love following your channel. Cheers
Hi Dianna I am trying to order the Mari , Sasha and Fiona scarf but it says no shipping to Australia. I have bought other items from your shop with no problems. Also please look at another postage system, I buy many things from the states and it doesn’t need to be this expensive. Many thanks, I adore you and your products. Thank you for all you share with us.
Hi Lynn! Thanks for letting me know that. I will check into it, but I think it might be that the scarves are on pre-order right now and that goes through a different app before you get to the shopping cart. The scarves will be back in stock in January. I also can't believe how expensive shipping has gotten and this is really the lowest I've been able to get it. I will always keep looking for better solutions, but as of right now, it's the best one that I have. 😘
I love popflex BUT the criss cross hourglass design is not for those of us with a tummy. They have other designs that fit great, and I'm in love with my cloud hoodie and cuddle with it when i feel a need for support or feel cold.
I like to look sexy to men. That is why I go to the gym, to keep my body sexy and I have no shame about it. And I I also like the feeling of health that comes with working out and being in shape. So vanity has been good to me. lol
Diana, I don’t know if you try to avoid sun contact, but this may be a life-changing revelation for you: LIPS, like the rest of our skin, are capable of TANNING. 😮 👄 I didn’t know this till I was in my 30s, I think. I have very pale lips, as well, and felt really self-conscious about them. Because I prefer to be as low-maintenance as possible, I wanted to get some color on my lips, then just put on Vaseline to keep them moisturized. When we wear dark lipstick, that opacity never allows the sun to melanate our lips, so if this “beauty hack” might work for you, then give it a go! Some of us are more photosensitive than others, so act accordingly.

Yay! I'm SO glad to hear about this! I wish we could all get together and carry heavy weights around! 😛
Such a great video Diana thank you..happy days...❤💪💪💪

Wow! What great advice in here! I'm sure people would love to hear more about a bed workout!

Beautiful! I also love the ballet aesthetic!
This is a great reminder to look cute at the gym

I love all of this! You're definitely a Queen Baddie!
Thank you for your videos they are very much appreciated. Please do video on the body oil you use. Thank you from Australia
Good idea! 😘

Yes! That is great! 😘❤️
I really need to work out, but I'm soooo tired after working 50 hrs a week sometimes
That is hard! I get it! But don't be afraid to try to work out even once a week because that would make a difference versus zero times a week. 😘
I have similar leggings from amazon. They are awesome. I get the 34 length because I am 5'8 with long legs!

We call stuff the muffin top.

Yes, I've been using sun protection and hats and scarves since the early nineties. I do think it has made a huge difference in how my skin has aged!
