Hi, I was 25 in 1985 and one of the 70,000 others in that stadium that sultry July day/evening . I went with 3 friends, we queued for hours to get tickets and we didn’t know at the time that we were part of music history which was unfolding right in front of us. It was a long day but Freddie’s performance was reportedly one of the best ever live. I had seen Queen before again in London but nothing prepared us for his performance it blew us away, I cried, laughed and sang all day. Precious memories. On a note being a young gay man in 85 I saw Freddy many many times in the clubs and pubs of London he was naughty but never rude. Fame didn’t ruin him at all. Your reaction was pure gold and thank goodness both of you had heard of Queen before you played the video, very refreshing.
I was never more proud of my 5 year Grandson when he saw this concert footage and said, "It's that Cool Guy!" I had tears in my eye's. :) Thank you Lord, I did something right in my life. :) The Lil' cat was groovin' the whole time.
Hey guy’s 1. Bohemian rap, 2. Radio Gaga. 3, hammer to fall. 4, crazy little thing called love 5, We will rock you. 6. We are the champions. I’ve loved this band all my life, listened to them for 45 years and the early Queen is so different to anything going, they did the first music video 10 years before MTV, God gave 4 boys talent & they ran full speed ahead and took over the world with that talent. Their concerts no auto tune or backing tracks just these 4 boys who with that talent became legends. Crazy little thing written by Fred in the bath 🛀. Thankyou for your reaction it’s so cool seeing the delightful joy Queen still bring. Light & love from Australia 🇦🇺
They’re such pros that they nailed the 20 minutes set within 20 seconds, taking into account of tuning, every changes between songs, audience participation… They respected theirs fans, rehearsed, and gave the occasion the effort it deserved. Talent, professionalism, and passion!
Every reaction I have ever seen of Freddie and Queen people are smiling. That's exactly what Freddie wanted. He said whatever you do with my music don't make me boring. He is still blessing people to this day. Love you Freddie
I was 19 and was at the Philly Live Aid. It was a one day event. Freddy! Mic in one hand the world in the other. No lip sync, no in ear monitors, no backing tracks, just pure raw talent. There will never be another like him.
Considering Queen hadn’t been advertised when tickets sold out, Freddie , had the crowd in his palm! What a fucking legend!! Thank you Freddie, Bri, Roger & John 🙏❤️
When Bob Geldoff did the first press conference announcing what bands were playing he definitely announced Queen even though they hadn’t agreed to do it, yet. Geldoff also announced other bands that hadn’t agreed, including touting a reunion of The Who.
The amazing thing is, is that the crowd were made up of fans of a whole range of groups and solo artists including Dire Straits, McCartney, U2, and Phil Collins. The concert was held for the starving people of Africa. Queen stole the show and the set is considered to be the best of all time. It makes it even more amazing that Freddy was ill that day and his doctor advised him to cancel Queen's appearance. Freddy chose to carry on and the rest is history. The two songs you asked about are - 'Hammer to Fall' & ' Radio Ga Ga'
I was nineteen when Live Aid happened . I remember it well. This was not a Queen audience that is what is so amazing about this. He just knew how to hold an audience in the palm of hands. RIP Freddie
Arguably the greatest live performance in the history of rock and roll (due to the size of the audience worldwide and the significance of the event). Queen blew away a lot of legendary performers at this concert!
Robert Stevenson yes I watched ‘t live some people didn’t want to perform after him cause Fredi rehearsed-they rehearsed(he once told) they have been preparing for Live Aid -only few nights though but that’ was enough

You know that you've left your mark on this planet. When a sixty thousand crowd at a greenday concert sing the entire version of bohemian rhapsody before the band come on stage
Allegedly elton John burst into Queens dressing room and said that Freddie stole the show. Millions were watching all over the world. Freddie stole it all. Not even the Beatles at there height could even dream of this.
Fantastic show but remember The Beatles were known by virtually everyone in the World from China to India to The Polynesian Islands. That's never happened b4 or since ..lol
LOL.........We are both agreeing that both Bands are /were great but your logic, my friend is hilarious because firstly this wasn't a Queen crowd but a collection, as you know, of many major Artists then so Queen can't take the credit for the size of the worldwide audience though, undeniably, they gave the greatest performance by a Country Mile and Secondly, by your logic, every other Group on that bill were also equally great because they TOO attracted that crowd....:)
I absolutely love your reaction to the concert. This is exactly what music is meant to bring to people. We all lost Freddie too soon but he lives on in videos like this.
I couldn’t get a ticket but watched the whole day on TV. When we went to pub that evening, all anyone said was “Did you see Queen”, they were awesome. I was lucky to see them in the 70’s when they were not really rated, even saw the Night at the Opera tour, even then, they were fantastic and had a solid following. Live Aid blew into them another orbit. How to put 72,000 in the crowd and about 2 billion around the world (about 25% of the global population) in the palm of your hand and do anything he told them, that is what he did that evening. Never be seen again will power like that. Pity David Bowie who had to follow that set!! My Daughter is 21 and a huge fan of Queen and The Boss (guess I did something right in her growing up) and been to see them a couple of times with Adam Lambert, he’s good but not Freddie. But he fully respects the Freddie legacy. The best showman of all time, the best lead singer and boy could he play an audience, RIP Freddie You should listen to Brighton Rock, if you didn’t know Hammer To Fall, then listen to this masterpiece. Never ever underestimate the ability of Brian May, Roger Taylor and the great John Deacon on guitar who also wrote a number of Queen hits. Watch the Live Magic gig at Wembley, my daughter grew up with that soundtrack and even as a kid, it’s all her friends would be allowed to play in her room! Always remember, No Synths!
Bohemian Rhapsody” (Partial) “Radio Ga Ga” Vocal improvisation. “Hammer to Fall” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” “We Will Rock You” (first verse and chorus only) “We Are the Champions”
Steph, I knew you were a woman after my own heart the moment I saw you show up with a chardonnay in your hand. Hooray for a woman reactor! What a lovely tribute you gave to dear Freddie at ~27 minutes, and with you and Jay both bowing at the end. This is the best reaction by far to this amazing event. I love how you both were in sync with each other and the audience. I also didn't know the two songs, Radio Gaga and Hammer to Fall, the first time I watched it. It made this video extra special-- experiencing it like many of the crowd did, coming to this music festival and being surprised by, "Wow, those guys are good!" Thank you so much for the beautiful reaction. Love and peace.
Crazy little thing written by Queen. Freddie loved Elvis so he’s channeling his inner Elvis....this is blues 101 back beat bass....and great in it’s simplicity, except it’s Freddie so...the crowd gets in every song. ❤️😎🔥🤘the joy on your faces is why I’m here. Please do more live music, Rock from this era is full of talented musicians and vocalists at a time when everyone toured. Live Aid alone is a walk thru music history for sure.

According to an interview with Geldoff, donations were dropping off and they were about to meet with the producers to make some huge plea to the world audience but they didn't need to once Queen started playing. Some say they saved the day.
@Scorpio Way I agree, the only other news from that day that seemed to make any noise was 1) Elton teaming up with George Michael singing Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me and 2) Phil Collins performing in both England and Philly.
I remember sitting outside Freddie house in London on the day he died. I cried so much for several weeks. Sadly, I was to young to attend Live Aid. I was 9.
Lady Gaga got her name from a friend of hers that was talking about the song Radio. There will never never be another Freddie Mercury! Most prolific song master of Arena Rock! Miss his music!
Now, THIS is brilliant. It's 2019 & you've got two black folks, in Trump's socially divided America, one chugging a beer & one with a large glass of wine, watching a concert in the UK from 1985, starring a gay white bloke & loving every second of it. Diversity at it's finest hour. This is what music does folks, it brings people together. LOVE this you guys...!!! Is this the real life.............. Okay, that was hands down the best music reaction video EVER! Watched the entire show live on MTV when MTV actually played music, all four of their videojockeys were in Philadelphia, making inane comments throughout. I've got ten hours on videotape I recorded from the tv. Freddie Mercury and Queen were unbelievable, many concert experts say this was the best live performance in rock history. Love you guys, first time I've ever visited. I'm 70. I was half my present age back in '85.
And Queen or Freddie had a pure voice, no auto tune and no need as his voice is the instrument. I watched the whole video with you guys and he impressed me. I will follow your new ones. Keep on keeping on!
An amazing reaction! Live Aid was a year before I was born but Queen’s performance is legendary! The thing I love is how they timed their performance to perfection. There’s a line of lights at the front of the stage showing how long their set is, and it goes red the very second they raise their hands at the end of We Are The Champions! Such pro’s!!
YOU WILL LOVE: "One Vision." It was written as a dedication to Dr. Martin Luther King. The live version at Wembly 1986 is wonderful but you may want to watch the studio version to catch all the words more easily. (The last line is just Freddie being Freddie. The man had a great sense of humor).
Freddie would have been 73 on September 5th. I miss him still, there will never be another! What a fabulous band of brothers they were, John, Roger, Brian and Freddie...this was QUEEN!
I was 15 years old..... It was the most amazing thing I'd seen on TV.... I thought this will help to change us....bring the world together..... a wonderful time of change...

One of the best reactions to this video. Totally getting into the 'occasion', and Steph definitely loves the strutting Peacock that is Freddie Mercury. Peace
Crazy Little Thing Called Love was written by Freddie. It was their first #1 hit in the US. On the same album as Another One Bites the Dust which also hit #1. That album, The Game, is pretty close to flawless. It has another great song on it called Dragon Attack which you would love. I recommend the studio version over the live version.
He wrote it when his young son said daddy, radio kaka, meaning rubbish, in a polite way, It's about how radio was once a big part of people's lives, and in the age of mtv the video became more important than musical content in a song, and radio suffered for it, in a way, radio has made a come back, with music streaming, it's like radio but you have the content control, the ironic thing is, queen are responsible for the birth of the pop video, bohemian rhapsody was the first
I was 32 back then. Lord 35 years ago ! A concert of over 70,000 people and not a cell phone to be seen anywhere in the stadium. This is how we took part, in the moment A 16 hour concert, and Queen’s 20 minute segment has gone down in rock history as raising over $1mil
Oh guys, i love your joy in this reaction 🔥 I love Freddie Mercury and Queen since i was a little girl, now i'm 40 and I'm here on TH-cam listening to Queen w my Cats 🐈🤍👑✨
I’m a huge fan of darling Freddie and the guys (Queen) but I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys watching this remarkable historical performance from the guys. We all miss him so much, I have seen Adam Lambert with Brian and Roger and I must say I was really impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the show. RIP Freddie you were one unique individual ❤️❤️
Freddy liked Elvis wrote it and did that Elvis impression out of love and respect ...side note early in their career they had a problem with their plane and Elvis lent them his plane the Lisa Marie to get to their show on time ...how's that for helpful respect between performers ? Both Icons Both missed !
Funny thing is if you listen to his voice at he sounds really close to Elvis to me when he was singing that. You could definitely tell the Elvis influence deeply imbedded in that song.
I straight up LOVE U GUYS, y'all are great! The fact that GREAT music can bring people together no matter the genre of music, the greats stand up forever, & is timeless!!
There are very rare moments in human history when something special happens and time seems to stand still. Hate, war, racism, political agenda's, social standings, and personal strife is forgotten. This is one of those moments that we are lucky to have on film and for those in attendance were lucky to see it happen with their own eyes and hear it with their own ears. There are no words to describe this perfect storm of cacophony of sound and music. It rocked the foundations of the Earth and shook the very firmament of the heavens. It still echoes across the winds of humanity if you only take the time to listen.
Hey you guys, thanks for featuring this, your reactions to seeing this sent shivers through my spine, much as this performance did on the day back in ‘85 when I was 13! Bless you guys!!
The first song you wanted to know what it was; "Hammer to Fall" references the Cold War that the band members grew up in. Hammer is a a reference to the Soviet Hammer & Sickle. Hammer to Fall Here we stand or here we fall History won't care at all Make the bed, light the light Lady Mercy won't be home tonight You don't waste no time at all Don't hear the bell but you answer the call It comes to you as to us all We're just waiting for the hammer to fall Oh, every night and every day A little piece of you is falling away But lift your face the Western Way Build your muscles as your body decays Tow your line and play their game Let the anaesthetic cover it all 'Til one day they call your name You know it's time for the hammer to fall Rich or poor or famous for Your truth it's all the same (Oh, no! Oh, no!) Lock your door but rain is pouring Through your window pane (Oh, no!) Baby, now your struggle's all in vain For he who grew up tall and proud In the shadow of the Mushroom Cloud Convinced our voices can't be heard We just wanna scream it louder and louder and louder What the hell we fighting for? Just surrender and it won't hurt at all You just got time to say your prayers While you're waiting for the hammer to-hammer to fall Hey! Yes It's going to fall! Yeah! Hammer! You know Yeah! Hammer to fall! Hammer! Yeah! Waiting for the hammer to fall, baby! While you're waiting for the hammer to fall Give it to me one more time!

They’re such pros that they nailed the 20 minutes set within 20 seconds, taking into account of tuning, every changes between songs, audience participation…
They respected theirs fans, rehearsed, and gave the occasion the effort it deserved.
Talent, professionalism, and passion!
Every reaction I have ever seen of Freddie and Queen people are smiling. That's exactly what Freddie wanted. He said whatever you do with my music don't make me boring. He is still blessing people to this day. Love you Freddie
R.I.P. Freddie we still love you!!! 74,000 people. Rock onnnnnn
It’s wonderful to see how she just loved Freddie. We loved him too and miss him so much. Such a wonderful person
He had almost 2 billion people on their TV sets in his palm. He’s best frontman and singer ever. Any genre. Legend doesn’t even describe it.
Brian May is my hero! Talented musician AND astrophysicist????
Absolutely. Great comment. 1 of the best to ever do it. RIP Freddie.
RIP Freddie
Freddy = 100% crowd controller
Bullshit Led Zeppelin were still are the greatest live band eva

I love watching real fans of Freddie getting into his music. You can see it in Steph's eyes that she loves the music
no smoke, no fire. no crazy lights . just good loud rock n roll
No in-ear monitors, no autotune, no backing tracks. Brilliant

Greatest rock guitarist as recently voted by his peers. Oh and phd
Insane charisma, animal magnetism who he oozed even he was off stage +warm, sweet, generous, adorable personality with golden heart that was our Freddie ♥

@Randy Rodes MJ and Bill Cosby... 2 artists I used to love and won't listen to anymore.
Freddie was that dude! Going all out, no holds barred, full throttle. Thank you so much for honoring his memory with this y'all. Made my day.😎👍 That put a smile on both of your faces.
I was there...Queen stole the show.
Oh how I envy you! I love Queen!
Lucky you! Freddie is a legend.
Yes they did. Showed up Led Zeppelin,The Who
If you were there you are a lucky person
So lucky
“Hammer to Fall” was written solely by Queen’s guitarist Brian May. Radio Gaga - was the second song. This was the best group ever in history :D
your wife (Steph) knowing almost all the songs is beyond awesome, her reactions to hearing them live are perfect.
@@Isleofskye this was watched by almost 1 Billion. As great as the Beatle's are, they aren't this Great.
@Charlie Chaman come again?
That directed at me or sky?
I Cried like a baby when I saw your reaction to this. Freddy is Life Xxx
I absolutely love your reaction to the concert. This is exactly what music is meant to bring to people. We all lost Freddie too soon but he lives on in videos like this.
Seeing 82,000 sing the same song gives me goosebumps! What a performance! You two are lovely!
The best showman of all time, the best lead singer and boy could he play an audience, RIP Freddie
You should listen to Brighton Rock, if you didn’t know Hammer To Fall, then listen to this masterpiece.

"Crazy little thing called love" was written by Freddie while sitting in a bathtub listening to Elvis.
In Switzerland.
While on tour.
It took him 10 minutes and only has five chords cause he only knew how to play 5 on the guitar.
Freddie was about to cure cancer in that tub but the water started to get cold so he got out and lost the train of thought.
Yes
When you can get a stadium of over 70.000 people sing and clap along then you know your doing it right.
A stadium where some wouldn’t even be the biggest queen fans either
He had everyone.
What a performance from all four though.

I lived 2 miles away from Wembley and we opened the French doors and we listened to it that way and it was LOUD.
They said 90 000 people
I would s... myself to sing in front of so many people🙈
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is a Queen original designed to sound like it should have been an Elvis song.
Freddie wrote it in 10 minutes whilst in the bath 2 years after Elvis died. It was dedicated to Elvis. Freddie is the greatest of all time.
I was there , it was a electric experience Queen definitely stole the show , it was a very long hot day , i slept outside in a doorway overnight to buy the tickets to go , when i say slept in truth we didn't do much sleeping there was a lot of people also there like my self that just couldn't miss out on such an event , and it was well worth it , i still feel the emotion when i watch these reaction videos
According to an interview with Geldoff, donations were dropping off and they were about to meet with the producers to make some huge plea to the world audience but they didn't need to once Queen started playing. Some say they saved the day.
No, they saved the world that day.
yes they say that Queen opened up the fone and they just kept ringing. They save the day Freddy Mercury and Queen saved the day
@Scorpio Way I agree, the only other news from that day that seemed to make any noise was 1) Elton teaming up with George Michael singing Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me and 2) Phil Collins performing in both England and Philly.
Queen truly saved the day, that day!!!
He really did❤
I remember sitting outside Freddie house in London on the day he died. I cried so much for several weeks. Sadly, I was to young to attend Live Aid. I was 9.
Interviewer: What instrument do you play?
Freddie: The audience, darling!

Freddie was not white. He was born in the middle east. Look at his parents.
@Javier Ambrosio his parents were Indian with ethnically middle eastern origin (parsi).
He was born in Africa (zanzibar) but raised in the UK
Humans spend so much time divided. This music unites. It brings out the best in us.
Did you see how the crowd in Philadelphia reacted to Queen? I would love to see a video of that reaction.
I love when you say 'do that shit Freddie' as you know it was his style and the only one who could do that... Love it

Freddie Mercury wrote Crazy little thing called love as a tribute to Elvis. He wrote it in less than 10 minutes. Legend
Thank you for helping to make Freddy Mercury immortal! So glad new generations are discovering Queen. Love you two!
Radio Gaga. One of their biggest world-wide hits in 1984. Written by the drummer Roger Taylor. Lady Gaga took her name from that song.
He wrote it when his young son said daddy, radio kaka, meaning rubbish, in a polite way,
It's about how radio was once a big part of people's lives, and in the age of mtv the video became more important than musical content in a song, and radio suffered for it, in a way, radio has made a come back, with music streaming, it's like radio but you have the content control, the ironic thing is, queen are responsible for the birth of the pop video, bohemian rhapsody was the first

Hammer to Fall
Here we stand or here we fall
History won't care at all
Make the bed, light the light
Lady Mercy won't be home tonight
You don't waste no time at all
Don't hear the bell but you answer the call
It comes to you as to us all
We're just waiting for the hammer to fall
Oh, every night and every day
A little piece of you is falling away
But lift your face the Western Way
Build your muscles as your body decays
Tow your line and play their game
Let the anaesthetic cover it all
'Til one day they call your name
You know it's time for the hammer to fall
Rich or poor or famous for
Your truth it's all the same
(Oh, no! Oh, no!)
Lock your door but rain is pouring
Through your window pane
(Oh, no!)
Baby, now your struggle's all in vain
For he who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the Mushroom Cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just wanna scream it louder and louder and louder
What the hell we fighting for?
Just surrender and it won't hurt at all
You just got time to say your prayers
While you're waiting for the hammer to-hammer to fall
Hey! Yes
It's going to fall! Yeah!
Hammer!
You know
Yeah!
Hammer to fall!
Hammer!
Yeah!
Waiting for the hammer to fall, baby!
While you're waiting for the hammer to fall
