As a devoted fan of iPods (still to this day I’m a proud owner of three classic click-wheeled ones) I’m very pleased to thank you for uploading this🤗♥️

26:33 How did consumers go from wanting to own their music to thanking someone else for the privilege of renting their music (i.e. Spotify)

The ability to download music and manually organize your playlist to your exact specific liking is still an option. It's just one that the majority of people decide against these days, usually for the sake of simplicity. Having an AI algorithm build you a playlist as opposed to manually building your own playlist(s) in itunes (or apple music now, whatever) is much easier, and even moreso much less time-consuming than how we used to do it. Being in my 30's now, I grew up downloading my music and meticulously perfecting my itunes playlist - manually adding cover art, editing out parts of songs I don't care for, etc. and it's something that I still enjoy doing to this day.
But that being said, while it's something I personally enjoy taking the time to do, it's an obvious hassle for anybody who's not that seriously invested in their music collection, relative to simply paying a streaming service to do the work for you.

I still have iPods and manage my music manually in an antique version of iTunes on my antique laptop. I love finding and downloading songs from iTunes to this day. I have never had a music streaming service and do not foresee having one ever.
      Long live the iPod!

@@FKARafael Crazy to think about how incredible iphone was when it was announced in 2007, during the peak of ipod's popularity. They could've happily coasted on the ipod for another almost 5 years before other companies started pushing out their own smart phones.

Sadly the Ipod is no more, it wasn’t able to compete with streaming platforms. Its a pity Apple weren’t able to adapt and create another device to take over our lives.
