anakin was filled with hatred. being a slave child, being separated from his mother at a young age, his mother dying in his arms by the hands of the sand people, the sand people incident, being forced into war at a young age, not feeling recognized as a jedi master, being manipulated by the emperor, thinking his wife and best friend betrayed him, padme dying by his hands. anakin didnt have a chance.

@@nolanueno1060 He was once know as Anakin Skywalker, manipulated by the sith into killing almost all Jedi. He only found peace in death, and why did he do this? Because he was afraid of losing the people he truly loved. The Jedi code was their undoing in the end… ironic

I’ve loved when Obi Wan said “then my friend is truly dead” just like Luke did in episode 6 “then my father is truly dead” and after Darth Vader looked away like it cut deep. The latest scene made the whole circle come around

Edit: To answer all the comments to mine, i updated it with "one of the best villains" because i don't want to take anything away from all the other amazingly crafted villains. But Vader or Anikin was just different and so unique in his own way which makes him so iconic. There are many sides of him and so many aspects which led to his evil. His character development is like no other and his evil is poetic which i can't say to palpatines evil (classic genius psycho who wants to have everything+fcking op). For me it's not just about his power or cruelty, it's also about how and why he became the way he was. Part of the mayor success is how relatable the character is. At the end of the day he was a good guy but you can't deny that he was also a villain and just as someone else commented on this video "a victim"

Palpatine is
To me Vader isn’t the best villain. Don’t get me wrong he’s plenty ruthless,cruel,intimating,and powerful but I feel deep within his pain is Anakin Skywalker struggling to accept the love of his life is dead along with others he loved. He does truly evil actions in his role as the apprentice Sith Lord of Palpatine but he wasn’t truly apart of it. Darth Sidious in my opinion is the best villain. He’s been patient,skilled,powerful,wise,and actually in his plans to rule the Galaxy whereas many others failed.
And the only chosen one too
Darth Vader isn't a villain.
He was a soldier who tried to what was right and lost everything.
And still ended up doing the right thing.
This alone was better than the new Star Wars trilogy

Growing up watching Star Wars taught me about loss, love, friendship, and betrayal. Not just the prequels and sequels, but the TV series as well. I'm glad I was able to experience the Star Wars trilogy first hand. George Lucas was a cinema genius. His passion and ability shaped the way for a legacy that will live on for hundreds of years to come. The man changed the industry.
He literally did change the industry yeah. And he founded ILM. And without that, I genuinely don't think CGI would be the way it is today.

Darth Vader is a multi layered villain. Then again. He wasn't just a villain... more of a victim. The Skywalker Saga is primarily the Tragedy of Anikin Skywalker. As a child I said HES A BAD GUY!! As an adult... I LOVE DARTH VADER! Plagued by sadness, anger, pain and grief.
Same. Growing up, it was simple. "Oh he's the bad guy!" Now that I've grown up, he's so much more than that. He's one of the best written characters. The story of Anakin Skywalker is one of the most tragic in cinema. Even after Mustafar, his life is so much worse.
From 2:36 to 2:52, in this scene I got excited, because It Is as of Anakin relives all his Memories and gas a strong Sense
of guilt.

"Betrayal", "Loss".... and the void that they create together will engulf your mind bits by bits and eventually you and your mind will become a complete opposite to whatever you are now.. Even he is fictional, every time he speaks, every time I see him, my emotions suddenly change. He feels so real to me. 'Cause those two things were the things that caused me to loose myself as well.

@@xxluidxxgrove1190 to be honest, I sort of think that the chosen one prophecy ruined his character. I mean he killed Palpatine (and yes Palps is dead, the one in ROS is a clone) to save Luke. The prophecy seemed to be shoe-horned in for the prequels.

There are a lot of Anakin edits, but this by FAR captures the essence of Anakins decent into Vader. In a way I can’t even explain. Everyone who worked on this should be hired by Disney

Behind the mask is a man........a damaged and broken man...he can barely move in the suit and when he does..... It gives him immeasurable pain..... His skin also gets caught on parts of his suit and his joints don't work properly sometimes....... His suit is so heavy....... And his life support is exposed..... But it is not just the pain on the outside ..The constant pain within vader dwelled......wishing he could take it all back....But he knows he can't..... All his friends are gone.......he loses everything doing what he thought right........ He lost his friends,his mother, his love, his fellow clones and jedi....and everyone he ever cared for..... He is deceived by Palpatine that he killed padme...... And lives with the burden...... Knowing every day he failed to save her...knowing everything he did was all for nothing.... He feels a deep reminder of what he's done...he feels pain behind his black coffin....... Feeling such hate......he feels empty and and dark......he is a slave throughout his life....a slave to a dirty slaver, a slave to his emotions, then a slave to the emperor....... He was a slave always.........but when he died.....his chains finally shattered..... At last.....slave no more..... At Last..... Anakin was free

That final exchange between the beaten Anakin and Obi Wan...man, that was so worth going through the mostly messy OB1 series.
The one thing that the movies and animated series never did justice to was in fact just how brutal the clone wars were and just how much they affected Anakin. I mean he gave absolutely everything he had and more in the prosecution of the republics galactic war and yet despite always being on the front lines and constantly fighting and risking his life the Jedi council ultimately spit in his face. They refused to grant him the title of master which they knew full well he had already earned a thousand times over, I mean just imagine the soul crushing betrayal he felt in that moment.

Anakin is the most beautifully, deep and complex character in all of star wars and cinema history. Born without a father, poor, a slave with no hope for the future, taken from his mother, his mother taken from him, fell into forbidden love, feared loss again, fell to darkness, lost his title and gained a new one, destroyed the order he fought for his whole life, lost his wife, lost his friends, lost his children, lost his body and became trapped in a suit which made him suffer constantly and was the fuel for his hatred, comitted terrible acts, met his son and daughter years later and his heart was again moved and awoken, defeated his wicked master who fooled him and saved his son and was redeemed. Beautiful. No one can tell me there is a better star wars character.
Anakin's story is fundamentally about what it means to be human. Anakin's redemption story resonates because it tells us all something we desperately want to believe - that no matter what we've done, it's never too late to turn back. It's never too late to learn from your mistakes. It's never too late to stand up, dust yourself off, and turn around. You are never too far gone to change. Vader tells Luke earlier, "It's too late for me, son", yet his last words were "You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right..." It's only too late to change if you have convinced yourself of that very fact.
Personally, as a Christian, I relate Anakin's redemption to the idea that none of us are too far gone to be beyond God's forgiveness. We're all flawed, but we aren't lost if we turn and accept God's pardon through Jesus.
