This movie low-key is based on a true story I heard a long time ago about 2 brothers who worked on farming 1 had a wife and 2 Lil girls while the other brother lived In a trailer on his brothers property and every time they'd ask the brother to babysit he'd always sexually abuse his nieces till everything came to light and he was arrested and the fucked up part about the whole situation was that his mother had the audacity to ask him to drop the charges against his brother cuz he was innocent even tho they found CP of him molesting his nieces SMH
"CP"..?
I may have figured it out.. Not sure really - doesn't necessarily fit well, but possibly right.
@@WhiteUnicorn82 CP, c= child, p = a word that Rhymes with corn.

i'm so happy she ended up in foster care
That is the part that makes no sense. He should have kept her. He had 100% access
@@ineedhoez yeah you're right, that's a plot hole
@Mulan PETERSEN hmm true, so he can blame all the deaths on her. On the other hand he could keep convincing her that she's delusional, sick and she murdered her family, cultivating her guilt and, hence, silence

Oh boy, this movie is at least short. Have you watched brimstone? It's frickin 4 and half hours of these but way worse. And it also got jon snow doing a short stupid cameo with a cheesy western accent.
Sometimes the monsters are within the family, when a young girl says/talks about monster it is an indication something is not right.
Not sometimes, most of the times kids get molested by family members and relatives.
@@Souchi-ito Yes, usually they are known to the family.

Good thing that Ghosts can afford to take a doctorate (PhD) in psychiatry in the afterlife...
Yeah, it doesn’t make no sense. If Liam is her deceased father, how can he be a psychiatrist at the same time? Was she hallucinating?
@@lucrezia1036 They pulled a "The Sixth Sense ", she was the only one that had interaction with him... movie magic !
Omg😂😂 movie’s logic is hilarious ahahaha. I have never met a ghost who is also a working job person. He must be really capable if no one has ever discovered him
right
😂😂😂😂
Big thing about this is she cut him with the shaver and for such a crime they wouldve checked the dna on that shaver, they might not have his dna on record but it wouldve shown the blood came from a relative and hes the closest so theres no way he wouldnt of been found out.
It looks like it was set just long enough ago that DNA evidence wouldn't be easily tested in a rural area, but you make a good point.
There's also the fact that no one dead had razor injuries despite her using it and pretty clear causes of death too. Like the uncle was trying to frame the father but the father died in a way that looked like someone pushed him. And if you're going to reason that the daughter pushed him after he supposedly killed the mother, causing the sister an asthma attack, then the razor and blood on her doesn't make as much sense. Like looking at that crime scene there was clearly another person other than the deceased and daughter. Why would they even suspect the daughter? Shoddy police work
@@kelseykagamine04 couldnt agree more
DNA testing wasn't probably as prevalent in the 80s when it happened
Not in 1985 they couldn't.
OK I don’t know if it’s the algorithm or what. I am spooked because every recap I’ve seen today has that actor who plays Liam. This man is one prolific actor

This was so sad 😢
This movie is one of the few newer pieces of Canadian media that are genuinely enjoyable. This movie was filmed and produced close to my small city in Ontario and I'm happy we got to produce something that captivated people! If you're up for a slow burn of a thriller, I heavily suggest it!
so ghosts were bringing her physical gifts?
Exactly yes.
Did I miss something? Liam was the psychiatrist and Jane's Dad? The dad that died after falling down the stairs. Is he alive or a ghost in this story? I am sure I missed something.
I was wondering the same.
ghost
He's a ghost. Her memory was starting to place images of her family & the events into things/places she was coming across, like the newspaper saved in the store being changed. They show all the glimpses of her talking to herself or what was really there at the end of the movie.
I see dead people all the time
He was a ghost, same with the antique store lady.

My favorite narrator 😁
I knew it was the uncle from the moment the cops went to him in the barn I knew it was him cause I watch a lot of true crimes on the ID channel and it always turns out to be the family members. So sad 😢
Yes, this is true in real life. But is very rarely the case in movies.
I thought so bc he didn’t adopt her
I knew it was him cuz they ain't paying a big star like Dermot Mulroney to play some barely there side character lmao.
That psychiatrist ain't Liam, he's a Mac
This reminded me a bit of The messengers
Lovely movie
Lavender, great movie and amazing casts too 👍👍👍👍
Justin Long AND Dermot Mulroney? god damn 🔥💕
I confused by his constant reference to 'shaver'. I've always just called it 'a straight edge razor'. I've never used the term 'shaver'. Must be a regional thing.
I’m not sure if your aware or not, but that’s not the narrators actual voice. It’s modulated. Maybe that’s why it was pronounced differently. Modulated voices can’t say or pronounce some words.
@@thefallenlord2943 But the narrator still has to input the text into the modulated voice. It's not a problem with the pronounciation, just the word "shaver" because it's an uncommon term.
@@thefallenlord2943 They didn't have problem with pronunciation but rather the word itself...🙄
Weird. An abandoned house would have been looted and trash.
Patrick was taking care of it. He didn't live there but he lived next door.
Can you make a recap video on - The prom night
I love the voice.
Probably shouldn't leave the parent who has memory issues to be in charge of school pick ups
I just wrote this basically as a reply but Ima comment it again. How could they have not caught the uncle and why would they even think this crime was a mystery??? Why would Jane have been suspected? I mean I've only watched the recap so who knows if I'm missing something, but as soon as we see what happens that night and therefore the causes of death, it just shows how bad the police work was on the case. I mean deaths from an asthma attack, blunt force trauma from a hammer, and a snapped neck with the body at the bottom of the stairs. You don't even need a statement from Jane if she even remembered. She has a razor covered in blood which means she used it on someone and nobody dead has razor injuries. That means there was obviously a fifth person. Even though the uncle clearly tried to frame the father. Uncle was probably trying to make it like the father was sexually abusing the sister, (since you would see the fresh signs of it!!), got caught, killed the mother, causing the sister's asthma attack, and Jane pushed her father in self defense down the stairs killing them both accidently since at that time Jane hadn't woken up yet when the uncle left. But that unravels since both the mother and father were on a date and had an alibi and all deaths occurred relatively around the same time. Wouldn't it be known by parental friends who babysat the girls? Then you just check the uncle for his razor injury and boom! Jail! I mean I get this was for plot so there are mysterious ghosts and stuff, but geez make it less obvious
If you watch the whole movie, the daughter with the razor bumped into the father as he was on the last step upon coming up the stairs & started to lean back. The daughter tried to hold him up but they both ended up falling down, razor in her hand, & him bleeding everywhere once they hit the floor... implying he got hit with the razor on the way down. Which could point to her.
My favorite movie
Just finished watching the movie. I like that she wasn't afraid of her sister's ghost.
Omg the music in the background

I watched several 'Movie Recaps' and noticed mispronunciations.
For ex., in this video @ (0:53) the word 'archives' is pronounced as 'ar-cheevse'.
This was dark
This reminds me of that story of that young asian girl who went on a class trip and her uncle killed her parents and little brothers with an axe I think and when she came back, he took custody of her( she didnt know it was him) and he began sexually abusing her and the auntie didnt say anything about it either. She later found out that it was him because the killer knew she wouldn’t be home and didnt go in her room and the detectives knew that if only a few ppl knew about the trip and her being gone then one of them had to do it and the only ppl that were alive and knew about it was the auntie and uncle.
I think that girl was Brenda Lin, if I remember it correctly. Her case is also featured on TH-cam.
