- A man falls asleep in the waiting room while his wife and daughter are with the doctor, only to wake up and be told that he's never brought anyone to the hospital in the first place.

It is difficult to show how a person sees the world, when they are in a delusional or psychotic state, but this movie actually makes it understandable.

I think the biggest plot twist is the two cops actually doing their jobs in a movie.
Cops in the US do their job more often than not. But of course we like to focus on the bad and ignore the good

So, what actually happened is after him and his daughter fell off, she died like he first saw. He froze after seeing her body and his wife started yelling at him and hitting her fists against him and so he coldly shoved her off him as if she didnt matter (i assume because of the trauma from his daughters corpse) and his wife fell headfirst into like a screw thing and died. He then put the bodies in his car and forgot it had all happened as his brain imagined them still being with him as a way to cope. Srry for bad phrasing and grammar but i saw some people were confused

@@thediaz07 Also this guy got the ending wrong. I remember it being a living guy who they were operating on and he imagined him to being his wife and daughter and attacked the drs working on him, grabbed the guy and placed him in his car while he bled to death still open from the surgery.

This is so much what it was like when my mom was in and out of hospital. It was traumatic for all of us, she was so glad to die at home and still sometimes became paranoid she was in the hospital and we were lying to her. It devastated my heart. Never leave a loved one alone in a hospital.
So they suspected him of killing his family, but made no effort to check his car for the bodies?
They can't without a judge's order. First they needed to find something to justify suspicion, and they did in the pit, which was a public place. The car was back at the hospital. When the police arrived he was already escaping on it. The movie ends with "and he escaped" as if he had won but let's be honest it wouldn't take long to find him after that.

Do you know how many times police have handcuffed ME & searched EVERYTHING (pockets, backpack, bag) that I had just because they have badges?! Do you know how many people I've seen get arrested & taken to jail for JAY WALKING?!

Now with something like a murder case they may be more careful because it may get them in trouble, but when it comes to just bothering a civilian for stupid things they do whatever they want.

Poor hospital staff and family. The recap is awesome.
If you really think about it... this story about the body's actually being in the trunk all along is similar to silent hill 2. Just thought I add that similarity here. Both are men seeking them while they fight with the head about what truly happened. The mind is such a complex thing... if I do say so myself.
I kept getting Silent Hill vibes while watching the movie and figured out the ending early. There was definitely an influence there.
I'm pretty sure the person in the back of his car wasn't dead.... He pulled a guy who was getting surgery from the room and attacked the drs working on him and the guy was in the back bleeding out while groaning.

Small detail at the end, I'm pretty sure it's not an autopsy room, it's an Operating Room. And the guy/the body that he took is alive and the sedatives were starting to wear off.
I'm sorry but I dont get it he killed his own family with the rock and then put them in the truck doesn't remember that but then goes to the hospital? I don't get how did he see people taking his family down I don't get it can you explain what happened!?
@Maryam Moeen he got angry at his family and had a moment when he acted out of rage that ended with his dead family, and being so traumatized by his actions he went to the hospital and hallucinated his family getting treated by doctors and going missing, explaining why he wondered where they went after he woke up in the waiting room

I stopped watching it at the beginning when the entire plot was completely obvious. It's not psychologically thrilling if you know the entire movie ahead of time. The moment the girl fell on the pit, that was given away.

The mind is a fragile thing. (Spoilers) One thing to note was the man in this movie suddenly lost one of the few people in his life that he cared for. It devastated him so much that he lost his mind again and took out that frustration on the only other person in his life. Was this woman Joanna actually as heartless as he imagined her to be or did this help him deal with his actions? The viewer might never know.
Ultimately the man in this movie lost his mind, had hallucinations, let his addictions overtake him, his conscious concocted a plot where his family was still alive so he wouldn’t deal with reality/guilt, and he thought he could drive his way into the sunset with an happily ever after. Even if certain things were an accident he can’t just get a redo. He was running from it all along with his “new family” and it chased him everywhere he went. Life isn’t a video game. It’s precious. Violence is often senseless and driven by not dealing with issues of the heart and mind in a healthy manor.

I had that same thought. Recovering alcoholics make poor partners. A few years down the line when they've really gone through it, sure.

It's really sad how aside form Avatar, Sam Worthington only gets low-tier movies, he's really capable actor. Hopefully he will get some more high-profile roles while he's still in business.
I heard he got a bit of a reputation for getting a big ego after avatar & developed an alcohol addiction. He even admits to being a nightmare to work with on titans. He wasn’t a big enough star yet for the money to be worth putting up with him.
This movie is crazy! I saw this once and that’s all I’ll do. No rewatch or anything! The end is good but damn it’s crazy!
I love psychological thrillers but I was wondering why this movie was labelled as such then boom my guy has been hallucinating all day long. I have to admit when they finally revealed that he was actually carrying an innocent young patient I laughed. I'm sorry

It's going to be impossible to pay for today's US hospital bill in cash. If you don't have insurance nego rates, you bill for a CAT scan is prob $5,000 alone... admit is prob $1,500, and any doctor consult $2,500.
Actually not. In my business we schedule Dr/Dental/ and any medical appointments for foreign sailors who got sick or injured on ships. I took a Chinese man who fractured his lower left orbital bone in a fight to a Zoomcare+ who performed a facial CT Scan on him and then referred me to an ophthalmologist.
We pay cash and never use insurance or workman’s comp. Zoomcare’s entire service ended up costing me 670 dollars. Most was the cat scan. Technological advancement has allowed once extremely expensive services to become a lot cheaper. So they’re not actually the 1k+ ppl might think.
Actually just checked the receipt too and it was exactly 670 lol. That surprised me I’ll admit. The charges were 599.00 uninsured visit. 39.00 for vax administered. 12/20 bucks for medication. The cat scans actually cost 449.00 and 571.00. But if ya schedule as an uninsured patient those charges are withheld and ya instead only pay the flat 599.00 uninsured rate that covers their available services. Long winded responses I know. But hey 🤷🏾♂️. It was literally last week lol
Yah I had an ambulance bill once from the hospital that was like 2 miles from my house. $5k for a 7 minute drive. Wild lol. Gotta have insurance, didn’t have to pay anything.
Actually those are the rates hospitals charge your insurance. If you don’t have insurance at all, you pay drastically reduced rates. I was in a car accident after I was laid off and my hospital bill was originally $20k, once they found out I didn’t have any insurance, my final bill was $1,200.

If they know you got a house or money in the bank... they'll make you pay list price first, and then they squeeze you for what they can... since they know once you go into bankruptcy, they get nothing. Typically, they'll sell your debt at list prices to a third-party collection agency, who will hound you (calls, liens, lawsuits, etc) till you file bankruptcy.
This is an underrated movie, so messed up and yet so good. I'd put this in the Stephen King-esc or Hitchcock vibe.

The movie wouldn’t be as engaging if you already know it was an actual human organ farm. Personally I thought he was crazy at first then I shifted to him being correct but I ended up being wrong in the end. That’s the excitement of movies lol.

My original thought was " how did he know the bodies of his family would be found in the lower level of the hospital ?" (If they had been at the hospital)

And his family's body's weren't down there. They were in the back of his car the entire time. He picked up some random corpses as going down lead to the morgue.

But I still don't understand how he knew from the outset that (any) bodies would be found downstairs. I know he hallucinated his family in the elevator, but the lower level could just as easily turned out to be a boiler room.

id say the biggest flaw is you can se the ending coming after his daughter fall, nothing looks right. if it wasnt for that one cop trying to spin it that he killed them on purpouse instead of going with good cop 9 im sure it was an accident no one would have gotten locked in a closet. but than we wouldnt have our twist.

I thought this movie looked really interesting halfway through this video so I paused it and started to watch the actual movie on Netflix... the acting, music cues, camera shots... needless to say after four minutes I closed Netflix and came back to resume this video.

I loved this movie and the ending....!!!!!!! mmmmmmmhmmmm.
This movie story line is poor, they first mentioned that he was an alcoholic not a psychopath, why would he have a major mental breakdown with nothing major to strigger it. His mental state of lack of memory and hallucination was only one sided that is related only to his wife and daughter and he was not confused concerning other things that he needs coordination, planning, cunning and timed execution. Considering how they finally mentioned how was hallucinating, had severe memory loss and completely out of his senses and something similar has not happened to him before except that he was drunk and driving with his first wife who was pregnant and got involved in a car accident is hard to believe even for a movie.
