I read a book about public speaking you wrote along with a book about idioms it sure was a learning experience where was educated people use idioms a lot

As a mechanic, folks would drive in with some misc. problem on their car. I freak as to what it could be.................... then I would chant to myself as I walked to the car, "Just lift the hood!" I think you've heard it before, Just Do It ! After years of doing that, I could wave my hand over the hood & tell those folks what was wrong before I even looked. And I was right 90% of the time. Just by the sound it was making I could tell.

@@armyphuong6518 It likely means that his son and future wife "ELOPED" basically means there was no audience to give a speech in Brain's case. I bet Brain was sad he didn't get to say a speech for his only son
