See it like this, it doesn’t matter what he does to her, he’s made her feel useless on her own, so even though she can leave and has the opportunity to, the point is that she’s so incased in his abuse that nothing other than making his sandwich matters anymore, cause this is normal, he could die and it would still be the same. What if he is just a dementia patient and without giving him proper medical care she made him chair ridden and eventually got frustrated with the request he made and started punishing him
Have Shaggy and Scooby Doo taught us nothing about sandwich making? We truly have brought down shame upon our heads if we don't realize the complexities and the Art of sandwich making...
He nagged her to the point of insanity. His wife killed him (or now keeps thinking she's trying to with tainted sandwiches), but grew so vexed by his relentless grumbling, she continued to hear his voice in her head and hallucinated him as still alive. It's scary, because she's stuck in the same horrible cycle forever.
For you guys, who are a bit confused, from my understanding, she never killed him. Or at least she didn’t that time. What we see is what she’s seeing, her feeding him sandwiches and eventually deciding to kill him. But he’s already dead, and his abuse and neglect still taunts her and she’s convinced he’s still alive. I think this is such a great film. My guess is though she didn’t even kill him the first time, he probably died of a heart attack or something.
@@lutherdreemur3934 The cat died of old age nearly a year before the movie takes place. The cat had a good life, Marcy was very good to it. Marcy still feeds the cat.

This is how you do horror, no cheap jumpscares, well you can sometimes do that but just the atmosphere! It was horrifying and although I wanted to leave it kept me hooked. It gave you such a weird and eerie vibe that as it went on you could tell something was very wrong. Then at the end! Holy shit that was awesome! It's okay, this was my take in horror. Y'all have your own and I have mine! I respect everyone's opinion, and so you don't gotta agree with me. I dont like most of today's horror movies because I didn't like how so much of them can be predictable, but this was a whole different take for me. I never had this level of atmosphere because Hollywood horror movies ruined it for me, and there are some good Hollywood horrors but most ain't for me. Putting this out so no one will argue in comment section!
Same here. Jump scares can be annoying sometimes because I'm very jumpy. Then what's annoying is after the said jump scare, the object of horror doesn't look terrifying or the scary vibe it only had was the surprise act.
Here's my interpretation: Marcy is living with her abusive husband. Everyday he orders her around and forces her to make him sandwiches. One day, she snaps and decides to poison him. It works, but after the deed is done, her mind convinces her he is still alive. She hallucinates him demanding her to make more sandwiches all the while she tries to figure out how to kill him. That's why he doesn't react to the glass and stuff.
The husband was dead from the start, she was just imagining him saying "Make me a sandwich!" over and over again. Really creepy, and I love the build up!
Psychological horror is the scariest. Because I can't tell if he was dead that whole time, or one of her "extra ingredients" caused his death, but by that point, she was so traumatized and such that it's like he was still alive in her mind. It's also an allegory for relationship and domestic abuse. Honestly, not even an allegory, because even the ones who escape will spend years healing.
When I first watched this I thought it was like a joke but after watching it again I realise that the old man must of abused her a lot and she’s still imagining that he’s asking for more sandwiches but he died a while ago. Amazing storytelling.
He probably died right after she poured dish soap onto his sandwich. It takes a dead body 10 days to decompose into bone given the conditions they are in. It takes approximately 9 days for a body to attract maggots. So I’m guessing he’s been dead for 20 days
The thought of her being abused so much that she's gone completely crazy and ultimately gets stuck in a cycle where she has to do the same thing forever is both creepy and depressing at the same time.
"I make you a sandwich like you love it" *Some random person on youtube* : Eat it with cheese. *Old man* : I don't love cheese, what part you don't understand in this ?
I wonder how she leaves the house 🤔 she has to for buying food, new clothes etc. If he's husband has been dead for years and no one hasn't ever notice him being gone for quite some time nor no one has ever come over to see her
So, he was an abusive husband, she lost her patience (can't blame her) and fed him deadly sandwiches. But she can't make her peace. So his rotting corpse (A la Psycho) is still present in the house and she is reliving those memories/trauma every day. The real horror is always tragic.
The cool thing about it is the fact that the worms of his corpse are still eating the sandwiches, meaning that the abuse of her husband lingers on even after his death.
So worms eating are a sign or lingering abuse? Does that mean that Germans are still signs or Nazism lingering around the fatherland? Well we can't have that now, can we?
He died of a heart attack from about 6 - 12 months ago, but since the lady has dementia, she still thinks her husband is alive and acts the way he used too when he was: abusive and angry, and always keeps asking for sandwiches.
@@JZ0100 to be even more specific a pink cotton sweater made out of the best sheep wool carefully fed by man in the Paris country side only sold in 2 country’s for $4000.
Wow....even after him being dead, Marcy still continues to make sandwiches for him since she can't escape the abuse she was going through. Now that's pure horror.
Alternative interpretation: He was never abusive and she didn't kill him. His sudden death was so traumatic that she keeps up her daily routines, including the small favours she did to her husband such as making sandwiches in an attempt to "earn" him back. But after days, weeks, or months, the mental strain of denying reality pushes her to work harder and harder towards her impossible goal, and in her exhausted state begins comes to resent her own obsessive delusion.
My theory is the women was mentally traumatised by her husband after years of abuse so even now that he’s been dead for a long time she hears his distant voice from the traumatic memories she suffered
It carries such a strong message how the tremors in her hands disappear and she (almost) looks at peace, but she's still stuck with the mental burden.. it's uncomfortable, creepy and every watch you'll notice something new, or less words, really, really good!
That's why you ask them to be a dishwasher, do the clothes, wash the cloths, fold the cloths, knit jackets, clean the house, etc. NOT an abusive cycle of SPEED MOMENTUM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE 2 time forsenCD.

It’s sad how PTSD and mental stress after abuse lives on , it takes people years upon years to come out of their shells away from that after it’s over
For you guys, who are a bit confused, from my understanding, she never killed him.

About time
This is how you do horror, no cheap jumpscares, well you can sometimes do that but just the atmosphere!
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
That's why I am a fan of those old Creep Show movies they did the same thing
thats why i'm the deformed lunchbox fans. and i subbed, because the horror is not just a jumpscare. but eerie atmosphere!
Same here. Jump scares can be annoying sometimes because I'm very jumpy. Then what's annoying is after the said jump scare, the object of horror doesn't look terrifying or the scary vibe it only had was the surprise act.
Yeah you know nothing about horror if you think this was actually scary and or horrifying. I wouldn't even put it under horror, more like disturbed.
How many sandwiches did Marcy make?!

That makes alot of sense actually 😥
@Jenny Magica i mean its pretty obvious
Was it the soap

Psychological horror is the scariest. Because I can't tell if he was dead that whole time, or one of her "extra ingredients" caused his death, but by that point, she was so traumatized and such that it's like he was still alive in her mind. It's also an allegory for relationship and domestic abuse. Honestly, not even an allegory, because even the ones who escape will spend years healing.
This is what I was thinking and you articulated nicely.

GUMBALL ICON
That is so true
When I first watched this I thought it was like a joke but after watching it again I realise that the old man must of abused her a lot and she’s still imagining that he’s asking for more sandwiches but he died a while ago. Amazing storytelling.

He probably died right after she poured dish soap onto his sandwich. It takes a dead body 10 days to decompose into bone given the conditions they are in. It takes approximately 9 days for a body to attract maggots. So I’m guessing he’s been dead for 20 days
2:40 He’s the kind of sandwiches!!😂
The thought of her being abused so much that she's gone completely crazy and ultimately gets stuck in a cycle where she has to do the same thing forever is both creepy and depressing at the same time.

It looks like he’s been dead for years, but she is still traumatised of what she’s been through. These short movies are better than actual ones lol.
I wonder how she leaves the house 🤔 she has to for buying food, new clothes etc.
If he's husband has been dead for years and no one hasn't ever notice him being gone for quite some time nor no one has ever come over to see her
Not so much bs to wade through, short ,sweet n to the point.
Cool...
I get it
So worms eating are a sign or lingering abuse?
Does that mean that Germans are still signs or Nazism lingering around the fatherland?
Well we can't have that now, can we?
Hmmm idk dude
@@wonner0 Ya. It's not "really" cool.
I like how he's just eating the sandwich faster than me eating a one-bite cracker 😂😂😂
He died of a heart attack from about 6 - 12 months ago, but since the lady has dementia, she still thinks her husband is alive and acts the way he used too when he was: abusive and angry, and always keeps asking for sandwiches.
