The mortuary assistant scares me because the thought of working on bodies just scares me.
Like I can handle slasher films and I have a interest in learning about organs and the human body but the actual process of working on a dead body in the game makes me so gross I couldn't finish watching markiplier play it

I was fine with the game then I ended up in the hospital and needed a tube installed between my ribs and the doctors messed up and didn't drug me right so I ended up with some PTSD.
I went from being able to look at the game normally to not being able to look at it without convulsing uncontrollably.

  • @zalybrainlessgenius503

I think the reason why the Scooby Doo ghost is so freaky is because most of us SAW that in our lives (and maybe were scared of it at one point as kids too). It's not some over the top completely unrealistic monster, but something you can imagine in real life - as you said yourself with the cloth physics, them being so realistic adds to that.
And then there's that fear of being slowly chased by something unknown that just MAY be under the familiar sheet... Also, slowly, SLOWLY, I hate slow chasing, it strikes on my nerves, there's no adrenaline release by running away from something that runs after you, it just creeps after you like death itself, I hate it 😀

    • @awesumtoast97
      @awesumtoast97 หลายเดือนก่อน

100%. That ghost in the beginning of the first live action film scared me, extremely. I couldn't look at the box of the dvd until I was a teenager because the ghost was on the side of the box and always visible on the dvd case. Another DVD case that scared me as a kid was The Omen (2006 ver) cause a Jackel/goat head was on the side of the box with a red cloak on. Finally the last DVD box that scared the fuck out of me was Bagul's face on sinister cause that was the only recently new movie that scared me as a teenager when it came out. Something about that demon just terrified me, even killing the whole family in "creative" ways, including the kids - then taping it.

I played Fatal Frame as a teenager (like 15-16) when it came out for PS2 and it’s STILL the scariest game I’ve ever played. I’m pretty sure I never finished it because there was a point where I actually got too scared to continue. But it is a game anyone who loves horror games absolutely has to experience.

SCP 087-B is easily one of the scariest games IMO. SCP Containment Breach is pretty scary too, but the OG easily takes the cake. The atmosphere of 087 is tense and eerie throughout the whole playthrough. It has a dark, mysterious, and intense atmosphere with a chilling soundscore; it also gives a claustrophobic vibe considering all you do is descend an endless dark staircase. The chase sequences and jumpscares are unpredictable and terrifying. I can never sit through gameplay without getting jumpscared or feeling extremely tense. I couldn't imagine how terrified I'd be if I actually tried to play it lmfao.

My fiance is a funeral director and begged me to play mortuary assitant with her, she says for a video game it does an acceptably accurate job at depicting real life embalming, it is a very tedious and unattractive process that will terrify most people to begin with, let alone all of the paranormal aspects of the game Mortuary Assitant. I highly recommend giving the game a try, it shows in intimate detail the process that the vast majority of us will go through when our time comes.

Alien Isolation with the VR mod or Resident Evil 7 with VR on are both terrifying. I’m not easily scared because my favorite genre is horror, but let me tell you that seeing enemies right in your face have to be the most terrifying thing to exist.
Non VR game wise, Visage has to be the most terrifying game I’ve ever played. Like Madison, it involves many puzzles with little to no help, so I would advise a walkthrough or be prepared to sit there for a while figuring things out. Absolutely terrifying though and would recommend to anyone who loves horror.

12:58 That scare with the air conditioner reminds me of a movie (can't remember the name), where the protagonist lost his wife and their bird (parrot?), which used to be very talkative whenever his wife was in the kitchen, has been silent ever since she died.
Queue the night where he wakes up from a noise, and sees there's light in the kitchen and hears the parrot speak for the first time in years.
Such a great spook for the same reason as the air conditioner: Because you know there's something there, you just don't see it. It's a modern spin on the "The Calls are Coming from Inside the House" urban legend/horror story that has roots all the way back to the 50s or 60s.

Playing 15 games just for a video, that's commitment. I personally love games that have a story but also have lore or little extras here and there to make the immersion even better, to me In Sound Mind, White Day, Mundaun, Martha Is Dead and The Heilward Loophole are some of the best titles out there

I discovered your channel with the first talasophobia video. And I'm very happy that you're doing great in TH-cam, your way to explain or show content feels funny, and at the same time relaxing, calming comfy. Like a really chill video, even if it's horror content. The background music makes me feel like.
"Yeah me and my paralysis demon are very comfy in my bed watching your video, and I'm not even trying to cry for help"
P.S: I don't know if I explained myself. English is not my first language :)

Fatal Frame is awesome. The first game was so scary for most players that they had to tone down some of the stuff they wanted to do with the sequel lol. 2 is the fan favorite, but 3 is my personal favorite, it just feels like the culmination of everything the series was building up to and still remains the most polished one for the most part. All of them have their flaws, but there's always something really good to keep you playing.

    - Fatal Frame is my favorite horror game of all time, and it's great seeing someone play it today and enjoying it as much as I always have. Regarding the controls, I always thought the inclusion of a "run" button was brilliant, as it just makes Miku run in a straight line to wherever she's facing. I feel like it helps mitigate the issues of the camera angles screwing up your movements when they change.
    - Crimson Butterfly has a much bigger map and made some QoL changes to gameplay and controls:
    * You can swap the left and right sticks for movement while the camera is open so it feels like a traditional FPS.
    * The camera's special abilities no longer require a finite resource in order to use and charge up using a combo system.
    * Film and special abilities can be selected while the camera is open without using the menu.
    * New weak-but-infinite Type-7 film is always selectable, so it's great for snapping Wandering Ghost photos while exploring.

my favorite fatal frame game is maiden of black water. in my opinion, it’s got great jump scares and it’s got a great story. you also grow close to the characters, so you feel bad when something bad happens to them. also (saying also again) it’s so creepy because you’re outside, and when your fighting with the camera OMG! it’s so fucking cool, and it keeps you entertained because it’s not too hard, and it’s not too easy. idk if you’ve played it, but in my opinion i adore it.

My friend and I went on a survival horror binge years ago. The top three scariest that we played (he played, I watched) were Fatal Frame, Doom 3, and Silent Hill 2.
We also played Eternal Darkness. I’m not sure if that game was legitimately scary or just freaky with its wtf! moments.

    Good VR horror games:
Escape the backrooms : Very terrifying, just walking a couple of steps takes a lot of courage. (A little buggy on VR but a very fun and interesting game)
KOBOLD: Chapter 1: Also terrifying, amazing graphics and atmosphere. Very good.
Btw I handle horror very good, and I'm a big fan of the genre, but in this case I had to stream on discord to get through it.
