When I grind GTA Online, I often put on full walkthroughs from TH-cam of better GTA stories like IV and San Andreas as ASMR. GTA V's story was just a gameplay experiment, where script and layers took a backseat, and the result was boredom in HD - boring map, boring game mechanics and boring antagonists. The only reason I play GTA Online is in hopes that it somehow outlives GTA V and becomes part of some sort of GTA overall universe that'll grow bigger with every new GTA added into HD era. And that the only reason why GTA 6 lingers is because consoles aren't powerful enough yet to host such a massive concept as conjoined GTA Online Universe. I may be delusional, but that's the only reason I have these days to play GTA. I'd like to play old 3d GTAs, but R* has been ruining them as well for those past years. How f@cking hard is it to enhance the picture quality without adding/changing features?
The best part about the 3 protagonist thing in GTA 4 is that none of them knew each other too well and they were kinda working against each other rather than pulling off heists with each other
I love that Luis and Niko are antagonists in each other's stories without ever really having a real confrontation. Feel like in a different situation they would get along pretty well.

Niko killed Ray Boccino, Ray was going to kill Johnny. Johnny killed Evan, Luis didn't like him always with Tony. Luis killed Ray Bulgarin, Ray Bulgarin was going to kill Niko. The 3 protagonists helped each other reconditely.
I love that Rockstar tried to match up GTA 4 with the DLCs as close as possible. Something like that I've only seen with Half-Life 1 and its expansions.

GTA 4 had the absolute best storylines, I loved this way more than GTA 5 In GTA 4: Niko, Johnny, and Luis were never friends, they just so happen to run into each other during some of their jobs, they all had their own problems, their own stories, and their own bosses. GTA 4 will never be topped in this franchise.
I really love that each of them screwed the other ones and didn't even really know each other. Niko killed Jim and kidnapped Gracie, johnny stole the diamonds and kidnapped roman, Luis ruined the libertonian diamond deal
despite some small differences they actually timed things very good..i was amazed how good they did the dlc's based on the base game back then, and i'm still impressed now, +that the stories are so different..i always had a blast playing them, even nowadays such great games
I've always had this idea where the trio's story all plays out simultaneously. Though i can imagine such a thing being difficult due to imperfect timing, inaccurate time of day and weather (Like sunny in TLaD but it's raining in GTA IV), and jumpy cutscenes. I don't exactly know the total run time of all 3 games together but i'm sure such a video would be hours long.
Just like Trevor, I finished it up about 1 week ago and whenever I finished the mission for one game before the crossover of the other, I took note of the game time and try to get the crossover on time with the previous mission done. (There's a mission order online!)
Very good video. I think the inconsistency of the characters' models is from a narrative perspective, from how the characters see each other. Niko sees Johnny as just another member of the Lost, and Luis as another gangster. He doesn't think much of Tony when they meet. I guess Johnny would also be somewhat familiar with Luis, because he knows Tony, but that is only in theory. When the expansions got released, I guess Rockstar purposefully partailly rteconned the characters' models to make them look more unique, and retained that appearance well into TBoGT, like Johnny and Billy's appearance remaining unchanged from TLaD. Ray Boccino and Ray Bulgarin are perfect examples of characters that don't look that different into the expansions. They just wear slightly different outfits. Or Roman, who doesn't look different at all, just wears a fancy suit for hanging out at the club. The reason why those characters changed is probably because Rockstar didn't have their full character written, hence why their appearance wasn't very detailed, or they enhanced their appearance for uniqueness' sake. There are several very good mods that can change that.
actually from what ive heard TLaD and TBOGT were written at the same time as GTA 4, however in GTA 4 they didnt really bother modeling Johnny, Luis or Tony in a good way and probably put the effort in somewhere else since they were minor characters in the main game.
I def thought it was because niko and Johnny saw Luis as more of a stereotypical Latino in the face without actually seeing his face they saw him but never SAW him that’s how I like to think about it at least. Because everybodies memory of events is slightly different so the people they saw wouldn’t actually look all the way like said person
I remember back in the day I would mess around with those Niko and Packie bots in TBoGT quite frequently. They seem to have an insane amount of HP for whatever reason.
I love how perfectly fitting it is with the Grand theft auto 4 Trilogy. But the models and cutscenes are very different compared to the other Perspective Main Characters
Interesting how some characters act slightly out of character in cutscenes from earlier games because these were shot before R* properly fleshed out their personality and background. Like, the way Johnny acts at 1:54 is absolutely not like he normally behaves in TLAD at all. Or Gay Tony at 10:00. Other than that, the intertwined story was an amazing idea and it was executed perfectly.
@@brolybanderas42 I think what's trying to be explained is that Johnny acted more serious in TLAD but in GTA IV during the party he acted "excited" (probably the party and music got him acting that way) As for Tony, throughout TBOGT he acts more stressed and angry by that time of the story so during the diamond deal which was first encountered on TLAD he had a more "jumpy" feeling as he complimented Evan.
Most of these are explained on the expansion too as of why they don't act "normally" Like Tony was absolutely coked out before the Diamond deal happening, that's why he's so weirdly jovial. And Luis was giving Tony an intervention because he pointed a pistol at his head before him and Luis exchanged Gracie and the Diamonds with Niko and Packie, that's why he's more Stark at that mission and not at all panicky like he usually do in Ballad of Gay Tony storyline It's honestly a really great example of retroactive writing and it's an incredible achievement to do that
Even though it was the least sold game, and didn't have the highest budget GTA IV and it's dlcs are the most fun and detailed games out of all GTA games. Love your work man, keep it up

There seems to be a slight difference in lighting on tlad when compared to the other games 2:29 4 and tlad 9:56 tbogt and tlad 11:26 all three (4 and tbogt seem to have similar lighting compared to tlad) But then there are times where the cutscenes look identical like: 1:06 5:00
It's meant to set the tone of the stories. I found the yellow tint a bit weird when playing as Johnny, but it's because it's a darker serious Story. Same with Niko with the grayish tint.
Well, some changes are interesting, like Elizabeta changing her clothes between cuts in TLAD. PS. Have you ever thought about making video, which would show differences between PC and console versions of GTA IV? From what I know, there are actually a lot more than I thought to be.

The Libertonian mission sync is kinda ruined by the fact that you used Pay N Spray because a lot of time passes if you use that in GTA 4 so from the moment you used it, this mission wasn't even close to be properly synced. Appart from that, you did a pretty great job.

Personally I have so much more fun with GTA IV campaign over GTA V; everything about IV is more appealing, missions, characters, story, driving, city's feeling. I'm interested to see how GTA6 will be (if they change from GTA V style, at least; because it gives them a lot of money, maybe they'll copy/paste many concepts)
It's just that Liberty City is very dark, and has a feeling of sadness and hopelessness, while Los Santos is sunnier, more lively and hopeful, as if everything is going to work out, whereas Vice City is equivalent to Los Santos, so it will probably be a sunny city, with late afternoon rain
kinda cool how they're all enemies not friends unlike in GTA V with them 3 protags. and yes Niko and Johnny were not friends. they weren't even 'allies' as such just on ok terms. Johnny betrays Niko in the libertonium deal, and also kidnapped roman for dimitri. therefore him and Niko are now enemies, even if niko didn't know johnny kidnapped roman, they're still enemies after johnny betrayed niko.
There's a mod to make character switching like GTA 5 possible. I just wish that when you switched character you could play their story and if it was one event, like the diamond deal, that you only have to do it with one of the characters

A change of color filter can completely change your mood, I feel that seeing these comparisons. In GTA IV I feel more depressed. In TLAD I feel...weird, something like that. In TBOGT I feel more excited and energetic to explore every corner of the map.
Also the main difference is color grading 😂 gta 4 color is darker TLAD color is yellowish and TBoGT color is actually colorful these three gives different vibes according their looks

Wow you posted this a few days after I finished the story of the three in order! I found a guide online that shows what mission order the three games are played to go through chronology. I always find it annoying though when I'm doing the crossover missions and there's those slight differences. The way I think of it when I do play the crossover missions, I just end up thinking of it as when Niko and Johnny meet, the tattoo is more bold in GTA IV because in Niko's POV, it's something he hasn't seen before on someone and it's a highlight to Johnny's appearance to him. For Johnny's clothes, it's something Niko probably doesn't think much of and easily forgets about it. (Just like me if I see someone from a day ago I somewhat completely forget what exact clothes they wore) Johnny's face looks more "flatter" than in TLAD and since Niko is just seeing him for a few missions, he doesn't fully remember his facial features. (As well as for Johnny seeing Evan, Tony and Luis for the diamond ambush and the other crossover missions) When I do Luis' missions and the crossovers happens I believe since he is the youngest of the three, his mind remembers more easily and sees Johnny and Niko in their "true forms".
That's how Kuroko's Knife series works too... All side novels is connected deeper to each other. Like Gta 4 and EFLC connected... Gta 4 is my inspiration source
It would have been cool if they added a multiplayer coop section part of the dlcs to play at the same in-game time. You could still have this same singleplayer play plus picking either story for coop to play together at the same time. More fleshing out of both DLCs too😮💨this game could of really made a mark
I Luv LC and Three Leaf Clover also have Niko wearing different tuxedos. In Three Leaf Clover, you can actually choose what you'll wear to the heist. But in I Luv LC, you can see Niko in a gray tuxedo with a black tie.

The Libertonian mission sync is kinda ruined by the fact that you used Pay N Spray because a lot of time passes if you use that in GTA 4 so from the moment you used it, this mission wasn't even close to be properly synced. Appart from that, you did a pretty great job.
When the MCs meet up at the museum, I actually try to help out Niko and Johnny, then take my leave.

Personally I have so much more fun with GTA IV campaign over GTA V; everything about IV is more appealing, missions, characters, story, driving, city's feeling. I'm interested to see how GTA6 will be (if they change from GTA V style, at least; because it gives them a lot of money, maybe they'll copy/paste many concepts)
It's just that Liberty City is very dark, and has a feeling of sadness and hopelessness, while Los Santos is sunnier, more lively and hopeful, as if everything is going to work out, whereas Vice City is equivalent to Los Santos, so it will probably be a sunny city, with late afternoon rain
@Brassknuckles21 Isn't Vice City meant to be a more colorful, upbeat place.
Back then I didnt get the DLC cuz I was too broke but looking at it now, the story flows together so well. Rockstar really peaked here

and yes Niko and Johnny were not friends. they weren't even 'allies' as such just on ok terms. Johnny betrays Niko in the libertonium deal, and also kidnapped roman for dimitri. therefore him and Niko are now enemies, even if niko didn't know johnny kidnapped roman, they're still enemies after johnny betrayed niko.
I always preferred Johnny’s outfit from GTA 4 more than TLAD.
And TBOGT
Imagine if every time they intertwine you can choose to switch characters or not, GTA IV could become either a short or a long game.
There's a mod to make character switching like GTA 5 possible. I just wish that when you switched character you could play their story and if it was one event, like the diamond deal, that you only have to do it with one of the characters

A change of color filter can completely change your mood, I feel that seeing these comparisons.
In GTA IV I feel more depressed. In TLAD I feel...weird, something like that. In TBOGT I feel more excited and energetic to explore every corner of the map.

Tbogt isn't colorful. It just hasn't brown shades like IV and TLAD.

Wow you posted this a few days after I finished the story of the three in order! I found a guide online that shows what mission order the three games are played to go through chronology. I always find it annoying though when I'm doing the crossover missions and there's those slight differences. The way I think of it when I do play the crossover missions, I just end up thinking of it as when Niko and Johnny meet, the tattoo is more bold in GTA IV because in Niko's POV, it's something he hasn't seen before on someone and it's a highlight to Johnny's appearance to him. For Johnny's clothes, it's something Niko probably doesn't think much of and easily forgets about it. (Just like me if I see someone from a day ago I somewhat completely forget what exact clothes they wore) Johnny's face looks more "flatter" than in TLAD and since Niko is just seeing him for a few missions, he doesn't fully remember his facial features. (As well as for Johnny seeing Evan, Tony and Luis for the diamond ambush and the other crossover missions) When I do Luis' missions and the crossovers happens I believe since he is the youngest of the three, his mind remembers more easily and sees Johnny and Niko in their "true forms".
Luis is also a "guard" of his club , so he has memorizing skills for appearances
I like how the storys blend in with each other man,i love all 3 stories

It would have been cool if they added a multiplayer coop section part of the dlcs to play at the same in-game time. You could still have this same singleplayer play plus picking either story for coop to play together at the same time. More fleshing out of both DLCs too😮💨this game could of really made a mark

I Luv LC and Three Leaf Clover also have Niko wearing different tuxedos. In Three Leaf Clover, you can actually choose what you'll wear to the heist. But in I Luv LC, you can see Niko in a gray tuxedo with a black tie.
You can also find this outfit in the PS3/Xbox 360 version.
