Hmm just saw that you uploaded this vid Chris, no notification or highlight from TH-cam, which is weird. Your intro game is spot on again :) The SM is indeed much nicer in my opinion and definitely worth more. 4 times more is obviously debatable. But you are spot on. When you get into the 400$ range, there are way too many original and interesting other options. I mean if you dig around a bit, you can almost get a Bulova LP for around 400$. That really puts things into perspective.
Thanks Andrei! In the case of this particular model absolutely agree. There are other San Martin’s that seem more reasonably priced (ie not over 400 bucks) but a good number are still north of 300. I have the only one I want or need at this point which will be reviewed on the channel some point soon.
@@MirrlyonTime I also have a single watch from them, i think the old version of the sm0068 with the great wave full lume dial. pretty sure i won't be getting another watch from them. I am mighty tempted by the new 43mm 'snoopy' lunar pilot though:)
I think the Pagani Design has the best value for money, for $300 you can buy a Tissot PRS 200, Citizen Navihawk or a Seiko Solar Chronograph. Great review as always!!
A side note: I've found screw down pushers a powerful disincentive to actually using the chronometric feature. They're a darn nuisance! Allowing you don't actually need that increased water resistance of course. I don't and prefer my Seiko and Timex chronos to my PD although, otrw, I love my PD. Suppose the obvious option is to not screw the things down.
Very good point there are chronographs out there with 100m water resistance without screw down pushers, but they were staying true to the watch they are homaging in this case
Two watches from the homage kings in the watch world I see why people love the San Martin I still haven't had one yet. I've had Pagani Design and seen how they improved I can see the value especially if you don't want to spend that money or at least yet awesome review Chris
Thanks pal! With this particular watch I would say San martin is at least 100 dollars over priced. Broadly they have some wafchss that are excellent that are only 100 dollars more than a pagani.
@@yellowblue2479 I couldn’t agree more. San martin is a great watch but I’ve always felt not worth the extra 300 bucks as in this case. If only Pagani would start to make their lume great they would be stellar. Steeldive and addies dive are doing good things too
Thanks for the video. I have the Phylida ST19 Chrono. I think it is far batter than both of these. The case, bracelet and the clasp are very nice. Pricing in in the middle of your two watches in this video.
Just found your channel lest night and subscribed. Good to find a Canadian you tuber. Watching your video back log. Keep up the good work. What part of Canada are you in ?
Can’t say I disagree value for dollar spent I think pagani are some of the best, just wish they would up their lume game. Thanks m8, and please subscribe :)
It is just me or SN looks really bigger? I mean, I tried the PD and it looks like a toy on my 7.75 inches wrist. Looking forward to buy the SN because of the wrist presence. Do you recommend? Thanks in advance!
@@Diasdhiego it all depends on what you are willing to pay. Please watch this video. San Martin prices are equivalent to a lot of what Marc sells, Marc makes a great product and stands by it. For me, I would much rather spend my money supporting a brand like Marc’s… th-cam.com/video/MgYxG67Hdjk/w-d-xo.html
I think the Pagani is great for the money. I think the San Martin is great for the money. I think the Tudor is great for the money. They each have different values, so it’s what that value means to you.
Yes I’ve done a new video about San Martin, my newest, please check it out! Seiko yes but Tissot quite a bit more money than a San martin but worth saving for! Thanks for watching m8

A quartz movement is far more accurate than mechanical so for a chronograph I would pick the Pagani every time.

Thanks Sebastian, I do agree m8. I do think the San Martin is fantastic but in this case this one is a tad over priced
With that price difference it is hard to pick the SM.
But I do love their quality and I am that person that loves to interact with it.
Yeah, on this particular model of watch the price is quite high compared to some other offerings by San Martin. Thanks mate.

Pagani right now is on sale for 26$ US dollars which is a steal imo. I do prefer San Martin always over pagani though.
I think value for dollar spent goes to pagani but san Martin do make terrific watches
@@MirrlyonTime yes that’s correct, I just ordered my first pagani exactly same one in your video review, can’t wait to check it out in personal.
Anyone buying a chronograph with a mechanical movement at this price point is insane. The service cost will be more than the cost of the watch.
