Just ordered the blue version of the Pagani, already have and love the Longines, but afraid to wear it as an every day watch as I'm very tough on watches :), when they come out with their version of the gold Spirit Zulu, I'll definitely get that as it's my favorite design.
Well although I find the Pagani bezel much more useful for a GMT watch the San Martin wins for me for one big reason: fantastic lume. Great comparison my friend. Thanks 😊
I am intrest how old movment like NH35 or 34 may have GMT. It s difrent circle one are not so circles? Orient 1 gen after come with Epson , have history and most accurate mov.F6922 only Miyota 9XXX are near.
I like the pd 1784 so far. I got the green version last month and bought the blue version a few days ago. Both for a good price. 👍 But good comparison.
The Pagani Design has a clear AR, right? And it looks really good. The SM on the other hand, has some blue tinge on the glass.Too bad on the abysmal lume - PD really needs to do something about it.
Being tool watches, that depends on your personal use. The San Martin has the 24h indication on the chapter ring and that makes it good to track a 2nd time zone. In my personal use case I want a gmt to track another time zone while I'm away from home but I also have the need for something as a 1h countdown during work.
The Pagani looks more in keeping with the Longines . The San Martin could be any number of dive watches . I feel if you want something a bit different then the Pagani wins !
I might add something that I would love to see. I like analog watches because I can look at them very briefly and know what time it is. The GMT hand is somewhat complicated and requires close scrutiny to determine the time. Most people wearing a sub $500 watch really only need to track 2 time zones. Why not make a movement that simply has 2 hour hands allowing you to quickly determine the time in either zone at a glance? To go a step further, have the date complication have 2 different color backgrounds that correspond to the colors of the hour hands. When you select a color, the date wheel will advance in sync with the corresponding hour hand. Someone who needs to track 3 time zones will more than likely be wearing a more expensive watch.
Thanks for this comparison ! I always thought the Pagani, Cadisen, and others are very close to San Martin construction and material (besides the bracelet), contrary to some reviews of San Martin that implies it is very far ahead and justifies its high price. It probably spends more for bracelet, but if we buy a higher-end bracelet for Pagani, then Pagani's bracelet would even be better, and still cheaper. I prefer Pagani's bezel labels, as I can use it for setting GMT without having to move the GMT hand (i.e. leave it same as local time and move the bezel). Ideally, I'd like it unidirectional of course for more convenience, not a dealbreaker though. As for San Martin, well, the bezel is useful too, but for timing stuff. Maybe it is supposed to be a dive watch-GMT type, having supposedly 20 bar. As for bidirectional bezel, dive watches should have unidirectional bezels, for safety reasons. If one has set the bezel time when diving, there is still a possibility of the bezel moving, and if it moves in the wrong direction, then safety is compromised as the diver would think he still has time. Pagani is starting to go mainstream. I was at a watch shop in Malaysia, and I see Pagani watches there, next to Seikos, Citizens, Ocean, Bell, Longines lol
Ended up being a lot closer than I thought it would be. For me the San Martin just looks better using the Longines Conquest design over the Pagani Longines spirit design. The bezel on the Pagani should be bi-directional though not uni-directional and that lets it down
I have a lot of Pagani watches the only area of concern for me about them is that they improve the feel and function of the bezels on their watches that have them. Glad though it seems they got it right on this one ,thanks for the comparison and as far as that goes I would buy the Pagani, but not the SM, so it's a win for the Pagani from me! lol
While I don’t disagree with the results especially, stylistically it’s a head to head that makes no sense. In the Pagani it’s sad to see the same clumsy end links from their aqauracer and other Tag homages.
Pagani has always been a good spec'd value for money starter watch (finishing and lum almost always being their down fall)... San Martin has always been a step up ... a brand that could compete quality and finishing wise head to head with a brand like Seiko and Orient.
Yes, its insane,if clone watch in front of there sucess become to i crise there price, soon will be better to come back with more classic brands like tissot etc,,,i think homage brand are here for give possibility to majority of modest customer to buy something looks like rhere dream watch nowing they will never buy rhe original,so if they forget it they interest...at 200 or 300 you can buy seiko, orient or citizen who are real watchmakers since years experience.
Looks like PD has really upped their game with some of the features of this model, unfortunately the shitty lume is typical and the bracelet/clasp lets them down again. You would think that after all this time, they would improve these at minimal cost, bearing in mind that this watch costs around 200 USD-which is getting up there for this brand.
Possibly San Martin will stick to their price for longer, however in the case of Pagani Design, I agree, we will probably see a price go down eventually. Thank you for sharing! 🙂👍
Two great looking watches here.
Pagani has, from what I've seen, now has elevated their game.
Good comparison, that Pagani does seem good for the money, but the lume is a deal breaker. I can't remember any Pagani having good lume, annoying at

Great comparison my friend. Thanks 😊
Late to the party but just got the Pagani in green for £89.99, with a few extra straps I paid £124 delivered. Very impressed.
I just received that Pagani on Monday and I’m very happy with it. It’s gorgeous and I’m wearing it now.
Same movement in each….low beat NH34. Choice comes down to whether one wants a 24H bezel or a diver timing bezel. Choices are good.
I love this pagani, very gorgeous color....but the san martin exists in green enamel version...very beautiful too
Great great video my shiny friend. The San Martin has been in my cart for two days.
A welcome comparison to elucidate value.
Brilliant, thank you 😃

Interesting that the lug2lug is significantly greater on the Pagani in the side by side virlews on the desk.
Great comparison, loved it!

But good comparison.
If the San Martin makes the handset closer to the target homage, as well as the 24 hour indices color coded to day/night, I'm in.
San martin SN0140W ???
Wow! Awesome comparison! Your channel is an inspiration 😊 I love underdogs, 3 more points to PD for taking the fight to the King 😅
Thank you Wes! 🙂👍

The 24 hour bezel on the Pagani makes a hell of a lot more sense than San Martin's dive time bezel.

A questionnable point, the Pagani has a GMT bezel, the SM has a Diver's bezel!

Love your channel. Hate this new TH-cam UI. :(

Pagani Design with a Silicone Strap Camouflage Green is stunning… trust my judgment on that one
Those are both great options! Thank you for the review. Is the San Martin 40mm like you said, or 39mm as it says on the Aliexpress page?
SM is just under 40mm. Check out my full review video for details, I measure it there with calipers on camera.
@@ShinyThings I will do that!!!
I used to hate Pagani's name on the dial but I'm ok with the logo. Only thing they still suck at is the lume!

Pagani Is a decent watch and it looks great on a leather strap - check my full review video for examples. Thank you for sharing! 🙂👍
Excelente vídeo, dois relógios bem parelhas, compraria os dois.

What is the author 's native tongue?
Value goes to the second place all day long 👏👏👏👏
Спасибо за обзор, как всегда по делу
Pour moi : la montre pagani 5 et SM 4, et je préfère le design de la pagani.
Pour le bracelet je trouve que celui de la pagani est plus joli.
Thank you for sharing!
For me although its cheaper the case on the pagani is a much sleeker & smoother design
Just bought the Pagani for £89.99 inc delivery U.K.
Frankly I'm holding out for the evitable SM homage of the Zulu Time.
Why do the head to head if you're going to give San Martin 2pts for the win at the end? Snells a bit fishy to me.
Thank you for watching! 😉👍

Such a comparison could be coming soon! Thank you for watching! 🙂👍
If I never see another GMT watch it will be too soon !
Lol! 😂

San Martin is in a different league. No comparison.
San martin great quality Pagani poor, build quality questinable
pagani - no date
