I love the fact all your instructional videos are just clear and concise and perfectly commentated with nothing but the essential info. And no irritating stock library music in the background. Thank you!
Absolutely love your maintenance videos...no faff, no fuss...just does the job. I have to get one of those pumps now!....been using the brake levers/pedals....takes ages like that.
Thanks. The pumps are great time savers
Awesome video - just changed fluid on front and rear 2011 Tiger 800 and this really helped a lot.
Thanks for the video.
I don't have a triumph but I still enjoy watching these how to videos. Keep them up mate :)
I just bought a second hand Tiger 800 xca from 2016. Thx to your videos i think can do most of the maintenance myself. All the basics looks very doable. The rest like spark plugs, valve check, air filter and tyre change i will go to the dealer 😊 Thx for the content!
👍🏻
I also did plugs and air filter thanks to Muddy videos, no problem at all, just make sure your gas tank is almost empty for easier handling. Valve check is just one job I'm too chicken to do myself :)
Your videos are great, much more fun to watch than Coronation Enders ;-)
Thanks!
You always make these jobs look so easy. You've persuaded me to start doing more work on my Tiger. Cheers.
Cool!! Nothing is that hard, its just getting over the fear of working on your bike
Appreciate your time sharing this 😊
👍🏻
Great video MuddySump very clear and easy to understand please keep them coming and thanks for sharing.
No worries. Thanks for the feedback
No different than any other bike but gives confidence to those who are unsure. Nice one!
You’re on a binge watching session 😄👍🏼
MuddySump I just got a new XRT so getting to know the beast 😀
Hello Sir, I start mantainence whit your video. Really thank you. There are ~50 ml inside the rear's tube (no tank) brake and ~100 ml in front, is right for you?
I use this procedure: REAR: clean the rear tank, fill up, aspire from the valve all the liquid inside the tank and refill again.
FRONT: clean the tank, fill up, aspire ~ 50 ml from the accelerator side, close. Fill some times the tank during the operation. Left side the same, and again the right side a little bit. Refill.
I have used ~250ml in total.
Greetings from Italy.
Yes, that’s more than enough to pull new fluid through 👍🏻
What bleeding kit are you using for the job? Will 12oz be enough to do the job? Thanks for the detailed video. Great job!
It’s a mityvac pump. You might need a bit more fluid than that, especially if it’s ABS model. Might just be able to get away with it on nine abs model if you’re careful
Very well done once again Muddy!!! ;))
Thanks. Its gonna be the same process for all bikes, its just that I dont know the torque settings for all of them :-)
Hi, is this Tiger model with ABS. You do not need dijagnostics ? Thanks
None abs model.
Great video, Muddy. Thanks for that again...
No worries :-)
Great video, sir! Is this procedure the same with abs on?
Yes
Good job keep Em coming
Another great video!

When I’ve done this the traditional way by pumping the brake lever, I’ve been able to see when it’s right by first (1) clean fluid coming out, and (2) no air bubbles in the plastic hose. In this video it’s hard to see if the air bubbles have stopped...is it less important with this method? Do you just work on the assumption that if you’ve always kept the reservoir topped up, it will just draw fresh fluid through and there won’t be any air in the lines even though the vacuum seems to create some cavitation and it sometimes looks like there’s still some air? I know these are very popular and work, I just wonder about whether the procedure is so different that it makes the old approach irrelevant.
There’s bubbles in the pipe when coming out but I think that’s just the pressure it pulls it out the bleed nipple. There’s no air in the system unless you pull air through from the reservoir
MuddySump ...thanks for replying. I thought as much, but wanted to check. These make life a bit easier.
Thanks for the video. Wouldn't you want to proof there is no air in the line, or is it safe enough only to assume it?
Contemplating buying a mityvac, but you can see bubbles in the hose when you're bleeding the brake.
I thought you was supposed to pump the fluid through until it ran through with no bubbles? at least thats how i was tought, when doing it the two man method of one pumping one operating the bleed nipple.
Think it's just due to the pressure it comes out at. There is no air in the system
What's the bleeder tool called and how much do they cost? I got a really cheap one way valve type one from halfords and it only lasted one use
Mityvac. Think it was about £35 off ebay. You can get different models of them. Just get the cheap one, its all you need.
Hi muddy just a quick question what is done on a yearly service just below 4k prob only done about 1k this year triumph asking 240 pounds
Annual service is oil and filter change and general check over.
@@MuddySump cheers buddy I’ll do my own oil change just Need to turn of the service indicator and tips buddy

What size tube would I need to bleed the brakes?
I bought 5mm but its tiny
It’s probably around a 5 or 6mm internal diameter. A brake bleeding pump should come with pipes and adapters
What about bleeding the abs bit ?
You’ll need some software to activate the abs solenoid to push it through the module.
Is the vacuum pump the Orion one?
Mityvac
What would I need to do differently for an ABS model? Is the process the same?
+xbonezds same. Make sure you don't pull any air into the system though
+MuddySump That involves just making sure the brake fluid reservoir doesn't get empty while bleeding the lines, right? Thanks for replying, btw.
+xbonezds yes. Just keep topping it up when it gets half way down or something.
That's the question I was going to ask as I'm replacing a caliper, thanks all!
