That was a great rundown of the years best folders. Your channel is by far and away the best knife channel on TH-cam in my opinion. Thank you for the work you do I really appreciate it.

The Air Lite is a real winner. It's a mixture of the Broken Skull, the American Lawman and Recon 1. Love it. But you forgot the 2000 pcs. Limited Edition LT Kris Ti- Lite here. Most sexy blade of all time - and Lynn honoured the Ti-Lite designer Phil Boguszewski with it. That is the one I will never sell...
Thanks so much! This help me choose my first great quality pocket knife. I can see your passion, for your equipment and the standard you have for the tool you work with. Thanks Gideon!
Sog's designs & taking their names off every part of the knife is a huge step up. D2 is nice, but add S30V or CTS XHP and trim the weight and I'll finally put one in my pocket.
Love the CS Airlite, bought it based on your first review, no regrets. I feel your pain, Cold Steel is going down, bought by a large company and it never ends well. I have a Spyderco para 3 coming for Christmas. I went to get my pops a knife for Christmas today and looked at the Sage 5, but went with the Para 3 light with the blue handle scales and the new steel they came out with. It's made in the states and the sage is made in Taiwan. Nothing against them, but I rather support the home boys
Thanks for sharing; I’d go with mercy saying ‘Large Sized Hands!’ For sure.....not big on the assisted SOGs but love both of my versions of the Terminus XR and the Ultra XRs. I guess I really connect with them. 😁
It sucks cuz I really like the updated versions of SOGs knives but they took a step backwards when they decided to make them so much heavier than the previous versions. Also I wish they'd do away with the spring assist. The new colors are different and awesome.
I'm definitely not buying old Sog with their name on every part of the knife. The new designs are excellent, but I agree on the weight. Definately need to trim down the weight. D2 is a step up, but S30V and lighter weight would put one in my pocket.
I always carry a utility knife also because sometimes a regular knife isn’t sharp enough to cut through thick plastic packaging where a utility knife is a razor and a razor of course is sharper than a knife.
Great video, thanks. What would be your choice of either a non-locking knife or a locking folder that has to be opened with both hands. Background: in Germany it's restricted (not totally forbidden but quite difficult due to German weapons laws) to carry locking one hand knives in public. Therefore I'm locking for a good one hand slipjoint knife or a good backlock knife with a nail notch. Can you recommend something? Thanks in advance
I’m sorry that you have to deal with those type of laws. The few knives I would recommend to you would be the Buck 110 or 112 series, or the Gerber gator series. Both are not super expensive will have a locking mechanism but are easy to open to hand it.
Wow, thanks for the quick reply. The Buck knife looks really good, especially the brass parts. The Gator looks a bit too large for an EDC but I'll give it a try. Yes, the German knive laws are very strange and restrictive: for the reasons mentioned above, I cannot even carry my Leatherman Wave 2 in public, because of its two one hand opening and locking blades. Very unsatisfying. Have a great Christmas and a healthy and successful new year
