I convexed my Gerber Prodigy, which is almost identical to the Strongarm, using my old Lansky clamp sharpening system. It goes normally from 17 degrees to 35 degress or so. I added slots for 15 degrees and 13 degrees. So I sharpened the blade to 20 degrees and then convexed off the shoulder by using the 17, 15 and 13 degree settings, and did some blending in between, still using the clamp, but just going along side the slots instead of in them. I've done this on a number of knives and it works great. I've replaced most of my Lansky stones with the DMT Aligner stone holder and stones. Having used both, DMT seems to have significantly flatter and longer lasting diamond stones in a wider range of grits and are about the same price. The Lansky alumina stones are very nice for finishing.
I had my shop broken into between X-Max and New Years of 2014. I lost almost all my tools including knives. The good part is my collection is nice and new again. First knife I immediately replaced was a Benchmade 943. Many were no longer made and still would like to have again. Like a Lone Wolf T2 and Bark River Grasso-Bolo 2. I started researching knife values (for insurance reasons) and I’ve been hooked on knife channels since. I did get another Cold Steel Recon 1 and SRK for my outdoor blades then slowly started collecting again.
My 1st collection was also stolen,Problem is,that I had rare knives from the 80's and 90's, that some of them can't be replaced, or some are so expensive, that I will never be able to replace them again. I feel you! I build from scratch again
Luckily, knives I received as gifts or retired I still have which is most of my 70’s & 80’s stuff. My user collection is what I lost. I feel ya, I was only able to replace about 60% of them without paying stupid second hand prices. Would hate to have to do it again.
I actually had this happen to me. I had a decent collection of knives (fixed and folders), axes, and swords. Our house was broken into and all of it was stolen along with various other items. I took a couple years off before collecting again. I thought carefully about my collection and how it was used. Most everything was just stored but not used except the folders. I now have a better collection than I did, but mainly folders so they get used.
I've collected knives since my first cub scout knife that I earned in 1970. Had a house fire in 2015 that burned to the slab. Luckily all people and animals got out since it happened in the middle of the night. Nothing like corraling dogs, cats and kids in a burning house to wake you up quick. Ended up standing in the snow in our pajama's while the neighbor called 911. The barefoot trip in your pj's to Walmart to get basic clothes and supplies for the family was an experience. Lost everything that wasn't in my vehicle, rv or workshop. Rebuilding is slow and disheartening at times. Especially since we had just spent 2 years renovating and updating our dream house and were underinsured. The insurance company, who wasn't a good neighbor, wouldn't replace anything that I didn't have a picture or a receipt for. Of course, almost all evidence of ownership was in the house so... Don't trust the insurance companies, they are there to make a profit, not be nice to the customer. The employee's get their promotions and bonus's for NOT paying $$ to the customer. The lawyers and private adjuster's that you may need to hire to deal with the insurance company aren't covered in any policy. After over 3 years of fighting we ended up with about 66% (the apparent target % of most large insurance companies) of what they should have paid and that was with good lawyers and adjusters. Have backup pictures & receipts for everything stored offsite to make your life easier. So many items weren't being made anymore, those that were replaceable were usually several times the price. First blades replaced were my Esee's since they got daily use. Izula 2 and Esee 3 & 4. Then a few Cold Steel's. Don't really use multi tool's that often anymore so only one replaced was Leatherman Wave.
When I was in highschool I was working for 6.15 an hour and bought my first knife which was a ka bar out of an army surplus catalog. I think I paid 60 bucks for it. I still have it and hopefully it never gets lost or stolen. I hope to pass that on to my kid someday. It has been through a lot but keeps on ticking. I've got custom knives now that I enjoy using a lot more but my ka bar will always have a special place in my heart.
12:30 I thought I had lost my Wingman recently (luckily I found it) and when I went to check on the cost of replacement I was blown away. Double what I paid just a few years back.
I'm 42 yrs old and started collecting folders around 12 when I got my 1st Swiss Army knife. I had hundreds of knives and lost my entire collection not once, but twice. I'm starting on my 3rd now and times are tuff man. I just try to keep positive and take my time because it's my true love.
Im also 42 and I also begun at sime age with a SAK! That being said,In place of the Gerber Strongarm,I'd choose either GSO 4.7 or TRC Mille Cuori.A Victorinox Spirit X and Explorer, would be my edc. My foodprep/camp knife, would be the LT WRIGHT Genesis in flat grind.
My 1st collection got stollen too. I wish you luck, either finding your knives or get some new ones. As I also hope, thieves get what they deserve, not for revenge but for the lesson that will make them realise their mistakes and put some brains on their empty heads
I would absolutely hate for my knife collection to be destroyed or stolen. Sooooo, I spent my $80 ($86, to be exact) on a file safe from Home Depot. It is fire-resistant. I put my favorite and most expensive knives in it. The ones that don't go in are either carried on my body--I usually carry 3-4 EDC--or are easy and affordable to replace. It's my way to be prepared before a fire happens.
1. Victorinox Huntsman 2. Civici praxis 3. Cold steel trail hawk 4. Mora companion stainless 5. Dexter Russell Green River hunter. I'd take my Spyderco Para 3 LW over the Praxis, I got it as a factory seconds for $53, but for MSRP I'll take the Praxis.
I once got about 700 miles from home before realizing I forgot my tool pack. I stopped at a Walmart and picked up a $23 Ontario Rat 1, the $50 version of the Ozark Trail copy of Leather Wave (Good tool by the way) and a $50ish Gerber Prodigy I think. Then to Sportsman’s Warehouse for a $50ish Kershaw Camp 10 and $20ish Bacho Laplander. Think that was in 2019.
Funny you would start the folder collection with a Cold Steel Voyager. I have probably 200 knives in my collection, and my Cold Steel Voyager clip point is my go-to knife for "dirty" or "beater knife" duties. There's just something about the design that screams "work horse," and it has taken every job I've ever thrown at it like a champ.
I have 10 cold steel knives and 4 spyderco if I had to start over the voyager would be too on my list, I always gravitate to it, hiking camping night waking, gardening. American lawman next and cold steel survivalist and Hunter, that would be my starter and of course the tinker SAK
Tops steel eagle / war Bowie (whichever is available, knowing tops) and cut 4.0, Victorinox Huntsman and rambler, Leatherman Skeletool CX (which was under 80$ when I got it) + bit kit. I know this doesn't help with the 80$ cap. But this would be my first pick. Under 80$: cold Steel Recon tanto and mini tac (skinner if I can still find), Victorinox Huntsman, Leatherman Skeletool and a Kershaw leek with 14C28N blade. Throw in the bit kit from Leatherman for all the $$ saved. Skeletool as choice of multitool because I've never really needed a pocket knife since I got my skeletool CX. The 154CM blade has held out for almost a decade in humid tropical india without rusting and with minimal care. That + bit kit just amplifies the capabilities of the tool significantly. I carry a CUT 4.0 as my main blade + Skeletool Cx and a Victorinox Rambler on my keychain. This system has been working very well for nearly 6 years now.
the multi tool comes with a bit kit, 2 saws to replace the file (like a surge), extra set of replaceable wire cutters, and a Torx Allen key to replace the wire cutters.
Love the Sanrenmu. Very light too with their skeletonized handles. I'd love to try their titanium version too, but truthfully, it's not going to be worth the extra money over the steel and 12c27 one. Best cheap knife I've owned. Might have to try Terava brand, ive heard s lot about them and their puuko. Do they also make the Skrama?
I carried Cold Steel Voyager tanto in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and many iirebyars other than those. It is an absolutely great blade. I love it so much I carry a Voyager Tanto xl everyday now , still
Leatherman skeletool, esee 3hm, a slim Buck folder with hollow grind ($30) perhaps two of those, don’t remember name of that model. Then save up for a esee junglas.
I have a couple hundred knives. If I lost them all I wouldn’t start over😢. I would buy a Swiss Army Ranger, a Buck 112 and a good Cold Steel fixed blade. Leatherman Wave if I could find one for that price.
I would go with the Voyager and Campero also. My multitool would be the Leatherman Sidekick. My EDC knife would be a CJRB Chord (button lock, flipper, and thumb studs). My big knife would be a Kershaw Camp 10.
Really love voyager knives. I personally like the tanto. For a fixed blade my misted used is my mini Pendleton hunter. How can you beat $30. It’s small but has a good handle is great for cleaning game and fish. The only multi tool I use is a gerber dime. I don’t find multi tools useful. I’m a mechanic if I need a screwdriver nothing beats a real screwdriver. Next I would get a machete. My favorite is my new on the condor terrachete. An my saw corona.
Only one of what i would replace without question are under $80: leatherman surge, spyderco spydiechef, cold steel srk 3v, granfors bruk small forest axe, c.k. tools electricians scissors
Great idea for a video. We seem to be in the same wheelhouse with your picks. If I lost everything and was rebuilding a tool collection, my 100% first choice would be the Leatherman Wave+. The toolset on the Wave+ has everything I want and use regularly: scissors, pliers, screwdriver, blade, and file. Mostly though, as someone who relies on eyeglasses, not many tools come with a precision driver thay can be used on the tiny screws used in most glasses. The precision bits have also been very useful in repairing computers and other electronics. Number 2 would be the Gerber Strongarm, for all the reasons you mentioned. Number 3 would be the Fiskars X7 hatchet. Great for yardwork, great for camp work. Number 4 would be a Silky saw of some sort, probably a Pocketboy. Again, super useful both at home and at camp. Number 5 might be a weird choice for many people, but I'd probably have to pick up another Milwaukee Fastback. A disposable utility blade you don’t have to worry about sharpening comes in handy all the time, and having a solid centerdrive Phillips/flathead screwdriver on hand is always coming in handy. An honorable mention: the Boker Kalishnikov in XHP. I don't think this is still available, but it might be my most used knife. I carry it as a neck knife, and I've beat the tar out of it, and it just won't quit. The blade stays super sharp, is easy to maintain, and it is still as snappy as it was when i bought it years ago.
Here’s an idea go try your local pawn shops I’ve picked up a Benchmade Nimvara for $45. in excellent condition (excuse the spelling) & a Victronix multi tool for $ 45. both were in “excellent condition” 👍🏼👍🏼😎
I am going to have to put a lot of thought into this, but I am going to do a video response to this, and stick with the 2 fixed 2 folder 1 multi tool style you did. very cool video, and a lot to consider.
If you can spare the money a good gun safe is the way to go with a good fire rating . You can put everything in it , documents , picture, coins , jewelry etc. and of course the knives . Money well spent . It's not a 100% but it's a decent deterrent against dirt bag thieves
Almost forgot it was knife day was out camping and had buck 112 cold steel airlite and pendleton lite also leatherman rebar all on me at the same time happy knife day everyone
1. Skeletool 2. Kershaw Link CV20 3. Joker Lynx 4. Cold Steel SRK 5. Steel Will Cutjack I currently own and carry/use all 5 regularly. They work just fine for me. Thanks! Great video.
Aaron, I can get behind your first pick Joker. You mentioned my multi tool pick with the Rebar because I don't mind a sheath. But... Instead of buying 2 pocket folders that I don't use anyway, I would spread that $160 budget over 2 fixed blades. My current EDC is the Buck Alpha Hunter, large one, and I would go with the Spartan/Harsey fighter by KABAR for my bigger fixed blade.
I’d grab a Leatherman Rebar, Kershaw Leek, CJRB Pyrite, and I don’t have much use for a fixed blade so instead of two fixed blades I’d have to replace my Buck Ranger Sport 112.
The first knife I would go get would be a spyderco delica, yes I know it’s iffy to get in that 80$ price range now but I have a couple and it’s definitely one of my all time favorite folders I carry one everyday and I have knives 3-4 times the cost
If my collection were burned to the ground I’d actually be fairly upset. Two of the knives I have were designed by me, so they’re quite special to me. My secondary concern is of my EDC knife, which should be fine. I’d definitely have pants on before running out of my house if it were on fire, so I’d have my shaman on me at least
I lost mine a few years ago when my house was robbed I had quite a few expensive knives, all my mel pardue knives , old benchmade, strider buck strider, emerson cqc7 , micro tech tanto For a 80 dollar ill choose a cold steel fixed blade tanto, terrasaur, kabar becker bk40 boker plus atlas, letterman wing man
If I lost my blades and had to get a new set of tools, I would not limit myself to $80 per knife. Some of them would be well under $80, and some of them would be well over $80. I would simply be getting what I use & need with the "buy once, cry once" mentality instead of getting something that I'll only end up replacing with something later.
Ok, Aaron this is silly, now TH-cam is giving me home work! Fine, this is an interesting idea…. In order of importance: Victorianox classic SD $ 21.34 (who has just one of these???) Rat 2 d 2 $ 40.99 (if I could only have one knife.) Leatherman Skeletool $ 74.95 (this was tough… hard to replace my sog baton) Holtzman gorilla nec knife $ 29 95 (not a neck knife great all around camp tool that doesn't get side eye from park rangers, DEM, or scout moms!) Buck 119 $ 67.99 (for when the winds are blowin' and nobody is judging)
I played a similar game with myself. What If I had to get rid of all but 3 items out of my stuff, what would I keep? (out of fixed blades, folders and multi-tools) I came up with...Fixed blade: Joker Lynx. Folder: Swiss Army Farmer X. Multi tool: Leatherman Skeletool. What if I had to pare it down to two???
Every choice i would make is over 80 bucks. Im starting with a Leatherman Wave+ 100 bucks. It just gets more expensive from there. All my knives get used.
I'd start off with the Cold Steel Voyager and SRK . A Buck 110 , and 2 I could randomly find in a store asap. Can you tell Cold Steel to do an S35VN G10 Voyager. Holy crap I'd pay the $125!
Even though it's scandi, I'll stick with my BPS ADVENTURER. My multitool choice is wave+ and for folding edc I have an antique 3 bladed old timer. Great video
In place of the Gerber Strongarm,I'd choose either GSO 4.7 or TRC Mille Cuori.A Victorinox Spirit X and Explorer, would be my edc. My foodprep/camp knife, would be the LT WRIGHT Genesis in flat grind.
It is so cool, even though you are sponsered by so many and got very expensive knifes that you choose those ones - this really seams like a neutral advice for me. I would have bet that the first you name would be ESSEE - how wrong was I - lol. Thanks for this video
I’m glad the threshold is $80 so I’m only losing one of my 5. My multitool can continue as the Leatherman Bond, folding knife has been a Buck 110 on my belt everyday for 47 years and that ain’t changing so the 110 and for that rate occasion I travel to a stupid 3” blade location the Buck 110 gives the Buck 112 a few days of work. My small fixed stays as my Izula II and the one loss is my big fixed as the ESEE 6 is outside the $80 range so the Buck 119 will fill that role. So my 5 is Buck 110, 112, 119, ESEE Izula II and Leatherman Bond.
EDC Benchmade 940 or Bugout variant, optionally a Spyderco Para 3 Fixed blade: Probably an Esee 6HM and something else in a scandi grind, most likely a Joker Ember - do wish Joker offered kydex sheaths though. I originally bought an Esee 4HM and while I love it, another 2 inches would turn it into a bushcraft AND survival knife. "That's what she said." - lol The original multi-tool = Swiss Army Knife (lots of variants and mods) No interest in being found in the woods. I'd self-rescue or my number is up. Seems more important if you have kids or if you are disabled, doing very remote work, etc. I'd rather grab that worksharp sharpener behind you. Will look at the differences between the Joker presented here vs. the Ember (outside of the grind they seem like the same knife overall) (Price reasons reflect quality over quantity!)
For celebrate National Knife day ,finally purchased my Leatherman P4!!!🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂🇺🇲For many years waiting for that.Price finally went downto nmy pocket😊😊👏👏👏🔪🔪🔪
Hmm if it was all gone? Id probably take my Mora Kansbol as a fixed blade. Now for folders id want an axis lock knife. Luckily there are many now to choose from. I lobe my Freek and mini Crooked river but maybe id try a new one out!. For spyderco, id actually skip all of them except for one. A spyderco Kapara. The compression Lock and the blade design are too good and its the best spyderco i own with the Sliverax as a secondary. Thats 3 so far so id also add a Front flipper into the mix because i love them to death. If i could find a WE Shamwari, id get that in a heart beat, but id take any similar shaped knife. Id skip the super thin front flippers that ive bought before. And last, if get a Drop Laconico Keen. One of my best and prettiest normal flippers and my favorite. Im rocking a bright purple one now, so maybe id try a different colour. That's 5 but lets me honest, id try to buy more cheap knives like the CJRB Pyrite button lock, and new civivi knives and such.... because collecting is half the fun
Schrade Schf 36 and 37 ($35-$40), cold steel spartan folder($74), cold steel 4max scout($84), cold steel sr1 lite($55) (and I'd cheat a lil and sneak in a small one! )civivi baby banter in s35 knife center exclusive!!($87) Some went a lil over, but the first 2 saved more than enough
I think the Prodigy or the LMF have better handles than the Strongarm, but what bugs me about the Strongarm is that it was supposed to be sold for $50, but it still goes for $70. I have seen them cheaper on Ebay, but then I worry that they might be some of those counterfeit knives sold out of China on some of those unknown websites. The Prodigy is the same thing and cheaper. I feel that Gerber waited for all the stellar reviews by TH-camrs and decided to sell it for more. All they did was design a different looking handle and they narrowed the blade. It's busy, and doesn't look like it an ergonomic design. It looks like just a visual design.
Take a breath. Relax. Remember that nothing in life is permanent, all is temporary, all is borrowed.
-Mora Kansbol

Nice to add prices 👍
@@gideonstactical I goofed 'cause I had in my head under $100. So change the first one to the standard Buck 110. That's under $80.
Nice to see the Kansbol. My favourite Mora and also my most expensive one I own.
Thumbs up for the Harvester!! My favorite Alox!
I convexed my Gerber Prodigy, which is almost identical to the Strongarm, using my old Lansky clamp sharpening system.

I totaly agree with the choice of JOKER and COLD STEEL. For a multitool I would check out the Swiss Army Knife model range.
Spirit X..can't get any better, none comes close.
Buck 110, Buck 112, Buck 119, Kershaw blur and rat -7
Nice choices!!
I like your style!
Lionsteel M7 off-grid alpha dog and trackerx esee6 joker nomad and lynx and a rat7 these are the knives I'd have to replace
For fixed blades I would replace my Becker bk 7 and kizer begleiter and for folders cold steel immortal and crkt homefront

Luckily back then I had only worked my way up to a $300. per knife limit. A few of those are $800-$1000 today...last I looked anyway...

Thanks for the updates on budget friendly knives and tools . Much appreciated .
Man, this is a good topic to discuss! I will think a bit what I would choose and comment again
Please do!
After owning nearly all the knives made; I'd never buy an expensive knife again. $30-$40 tops.
I love the Conspirator. I have the regular version as well as the KnifeCenter exclusive aluminum handled S35 blade version. Such a great knife!
Oh I didn’t know that version was aluminum gtk

1: full tang - Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110, 80crv2 Carbon Steel $78 USD
2: full tang - Watchman W204, 14C28N stainless steel $28 USD
3: folder - Sanrenmu 910, 12C27N stainless steel $20 USD
4: Folder - Ganzo 720, 440C stainless steel $28 USD
5: Multitool - Daicamping DL30 $36 USD
So, $190 USD plus a bit of shipping, but under $220 USD all in.
the multi tool comes with a bit kit, 2 saws to replace the file (like a surge), extra set of replaceable wire cutters, and a Torx Allen key to replace the wire cutters.
Vic Pioneer X alox and knipex pliers 5”, Esee izula, Kershaw leek, cold steel srk.
I have a couple hundred knives. If I lost them all I wouldn’t start over😢. I would buy a Swiss Army Ranger, a Buck 112 and a good Cold Steel fixed blade. Leatherman Wave if I could find one for that price.
Another great video. Please consider a similiar 5 replacement knife video with no price limitations [or maybe a $300 limit?]
I would go with the Voyager and Campero also. My multitool would be the Leatherman Sidekick. My EDC knife would be a CJRB Chord (button lock, flipper, and thumb studs). My big knife would be a Kershaw Camp 10.
Opinel, Sabatier, Joker, SAK and Leatherman. ❤😊
Victorinox Spartan, Victorinox Compact, Victorinox camper, Victorinox SD, Victorinox Mountaineer
This was a great vid definitely got me thinking about the gear I have and use in my collection.
For around $55.00 the Cold Steel Voyager is Still the Best Hard Use , Tactical and Large EDC Blade on the Planet , just my opinion.... 👍🖖
I agree. We need to bug them for an S35VN G10 version until they break lol.
Nice! Replace the Wave with a Spirit X and you have the perfect list!
1. Condor Hudson Bay.
2. Victorinox Pioneer X.
3. ESEE Caniru.
4. Spyderco Dragonfly.
5. Leatherman Skeletool.
I definitely agree with all of your choices.
Buck 110 and Buck 119 is all I need
Fixed blade- Alpha dog by off grid
Folder- Pro-tec SBR solid
Literal David and Goliath 😅
I thought for sure someone would post a comment regarding the 'blood groove' comment. 😀 great video.
Here’s an idea go try your local pawn shops I’ve picked up a Benchmade Nimvara for $45. in excellent condition (excuse the spelling) & a Victronix multi tool for $ 45. both were in “excellent condition” 👍🏼👍🏼😎
Cold steel is my daily beast
I am going to have to put a lot of thought into this, but I am going to do a video response to this, and stick with the 2 fixed 2 folder 1 multi tool style you did. very cool video, and a lot to consider.
If you can spare the money a good gun safe is the way to go with a good fire rating . You can put everything in it , documents , picture, coins , jewelry etc. and of course the knives . Money well spent . It's not a 100% but it's a decent deterrent against dirt bag thieves
Buck 112, Rat 1, leatherman wave, Joker Erizo and Mora Garberg
Almost forgot it was knife day was out camping and had buck 112 cold steel airlite and pendleton lite also leatherman rebar all on me at the same time happy knife day everyone
You don't really need to oil your blade when you have it on you, only if you are storing it away for some time somewhere.
1. Skeletool
2. Kershaw Link CV20
3. Joker Lynx
4. Cold Steel SRK
5. Steel Will Cutjack
I currently own and carry/use all 5 regularly.
Gerber strongarm, seal pup or seal pup elite, cold steel Air lite, large voyager, and Victorinox hiker
Good list!!
Thanks and keep up the good work
I really enjoyed this video. Great choices and combination. I saw Maxlvledc's too and it was awesome
I think man’s first tool was the rock! Don’t forget, he needed a rock to chip the stone into the first knife.😊
Exactly, i keep one Shaman on me, and one at home,... chances of losing both is pretty slim.
1. Leatherman
2. Estwing axe, hatchet or tomahawk
3. Spiderco Delica or Endura
4. Ontario machete
5. KA-BAR
I lost mine a few years ago when my house was robbed I had quite a few expensive knives, all my mel pardue knives , old benchmade, strider buck strider, emerson cqc7 , micro tech tanto For a 80 dollar ill choose a cold steel fixed blade tanto, terrasaur, kabar becker bk40 boker plus atlas, letterman wing man
Dang I am so sorry to hear that!!
From the fix blades I would (actually, I did) prefer the Peltonen Knives M95 or M07 (have both of them). Great value for a small price.
In order of importance:
Victorianox classic SD $ 21.34 (who has just one of these???)
Rat 2 d 2 $ 40.99 (if I could only have one knife.)
Leatherman Skeletool $ 74.95 (this was tough… hard to replace my sog baton)
Holtzman gorilla nec knife $ 29 95 (not a neck knife great all around camp tool that doesn't get side eye from park rangers, DEM, or scout moms!)
Buck 119 $ 67.99 (for when the winds are blowin' and nobody is judging)
I played a similar game with myself. What If I had to get rid of all but 3 items out of my stuff, what would I keep? (out of fixed blades, folders and multi-tools) I came up with...Fixed blade: Joker Lynx. Folder: Swiss Army Farmer X. Multi tool: Leatherman Skeletool. What if I had to pare it down to two???
Happy Knife's day too
Just ordered sp10 2 days ago on Amazon 77 bucks they have many. Happy Trails
Every choice i would make is over 80 bucks. Im starting with a Leatherman Wave+ 100 bucks. It just gets more expensive from there. All my knives get used.
I'd probably buy mine "Used" and save the money, since I'm just going to use them more anyways
Great video
My 5 would be 1) Kizer maverick harpoon 2) Kershaw leek 3) Spyderco delica 4) civivi elementum fixed 5) leatherman wave
In place of the Gerber Strongarm,I'd choose either GSO 4.7 or TRC Mille Cuori.A Victorinox Spirit X and Explorer, would be my edc. My foodprep/camp knife, would be the LT WRIGHT Genesis in flat grind.
C'mon Aaron, you know what Job said.
It is so cool, even though you are sponsered by so many and got very expensive knifes that you choose those ones - this really seams like a neutral advice for me. I would have bet that the first you name would be ESSEE - how wrong was I - lol. Thanks for this video
Mine:
1. CS AD10 Lite Tanto
2. RUIKE Jager
3. Mora Bushcraft Black carbon
4. Condor El Salvador Machete
5. Two Sun TS502
Has already happened to me once unfortunately. Your perspective is interesting for sure. Good video.
Sorry to hear that, hope all was restored
Working on it, slowly :)@@gideonstactical
Great list!
The strongarm is my favorite
Mora Heavy Duty stainless, Mora companion. Estwing sportsman axe. Cold steel AK 47, Buck 119, Eka W12, Cold steel Rajah 2, Tramontina bolo machete👍😁
EDC
Benchmade 940 or Bugout variant, optionally a Spyderco Para 3
Fixed blade: Probably an Esee 6HM and something else in a scandi grind, most likely a Joker Ember - do wish Joker offered kydex sheaths though.
I originally bought an Esee 4HM and while I love it, another 2 inches would turn it into a bushcraft AND survival knife. "That's what she said." - lol
The original multi-tool = Swiss Army Knife (lots of variants and mods)
No interest in being found in the woods. I'd self-rescue or my number is up. Seems more important if you have kids or if you are disabled, doing very remote work, etc.
I'd rather grab that worksharp sharpener behind you.
Will look at the differences between the Joker presented here vs. the Ember (outside of the grind they seem like the same knife overall)
(Price reasons reflect quality over quantity!)
Esee 3, Esee junglas, Emerson A100, benchmade grip
With the knowledge I have now(and propensity to buy American), there’s few things I’d pick under $80. Tough proposition really.
I’d go to a resale shop, buy a five dollar ball bat, go break a few bones on the guy who stole my stuff, and take it all back! Much less expensive.🙂
If I only knew who it was that would have been the first option for sure 😁
Justified 🎉
80×5=400. Forgive me for getting a Bark River ULB, a Leatherman P4 and a Swiss Army Knife. I wouldn't get 5 ehh tools. I'd get 2 or 3 I love.
I would take the cash from the 5 junk knives an buy a medford personally! ❤ no hard fellings just real thoughts!
For celebrate National Knife day ,finally purchased my Leatherman P4!!!🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂🇺🇲For many years waiting for that.Price finally went downto nmy pocket😊😊👏👏👏🔪🔪🔪
Something like this happened all my knives gone still rebuilding.
Coldsteel SRK in SK5!
I have well over 100 knives. If i lost them I would buy a Leatherman, Izula,Endura, sak farmerx ,spydy ukpen(legal carry) . And that's it. Enough .
Victorinox officers , mora hd companion, spiderco endura 4 and a machete
Schrade Schf 36 and 37 ($35-$40), cold steel spartan folder($74), cold steel 4max scout($84), cold steel sr1 lite($55) (and I'd cheat a lil and sneak in a small one! )civivi baby banter in s35 knife center exclusive!!($87)
Some went a lil over, but the first 2 saved more than enough
I'd get 2 folders and 2 fixed blades, 1 multi tool, no more. I'd put the thousands of dollars I've spent on knives.....in the bank.
The campero in k720 is the better choice. Rockwell 63-65 and hold its edge like a champion
What about your long time favorite?! The Spyderco Manix 2 LW?!
Can you find that for under $80. That’s the point of the video under $80 for each tool.
What is that backpack hanging up on the wall behind you?
A mystery Ranch in and out or huckberry exclusive Greenbelt.
Unfortunately the large clippt voyager had been discontinued by csk
