- This video covers the history of the original Appalachian Brotherhood of Steel from it's prewar origins to its last stand.
Mistakes:
1. when I refer to the death of Squire Esposito, I meant Knight Esposito.
2. I also switched Esposito and De Silva in the picture.
3. I refer to 2103 as 6 years after the fall of the Brotherhood, it is 8 years after the fall of the Brotherhood
The first time i heard a scorchbeast flying overhead ( up by the pumpkin house) i about wet myself lol. Scared the crap outta me.
You are so underrated! The level of professionalism with this, as well as the depths of the lore you looked into are astounding. Excellent job, and thank you for the amazing documentation!
So good a summary, it’s like you wrote this. Ty for this clarity.
Here I cried the last stand of true heroes men and women who gave their all for those they swore to protect, remember me here I stood here I fell my roar of defiance to mark my passing
This was a good listen, especially learning about the Brotherhoods original goals and ideals, almost like the Eastern Brotherhood in the DC area, it’s comforting to know this at least ^_^
I was blown away by the amount and quality it of the information in this video. I will definitely have to watch again. I learned so much about my favorite but flawed faction. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this!
It was a huge amount of lore to bring together, but very rewarding to see through. Very happy you enjoyed it!
Can I point out that everyone except the Brotherhood were of the belief that the Brotherhood were bullies meanwhile they were struggling to protect people, they didn’t want conflict with the Responders or the Free States, they just wanted to protect everyone whatever the cost
Their biggest problem was communicating the severity of the situation. The Responders don’t seem to have gotten the message until it was too late. I have to think that if the Responders really understand the nature of the Scorch Beast threat, they would have provided all the help they could
If only the factions realized when the BROTHERHOOD thinks there not gonna make it and need help you step up and give aid like really
There were mistakes made on both sides, the SB threat was rising just as the Brotherhood was moving towards tech over people. If they had maintained their original mission the Responders may have been more open to their claims. Truthfully though, the fall of Harpers Ferry should have been a catalyst for the Responders to investigate the threat.
Wow! These Fallout 76 lore videos are awesome! I’m new to the fallout universe, but I feel more educated watching your videos. Thank you for your hard work and excellent editing skills. Enjoy your weekend!
Incredibly well made video. I sometimes have issues following lore videos, however, this one was clear, concise and straight to the point, well done!
you deserve more subscribers. your content is amazing and your dedication to lore-telling is admirable. thankyou for sharing this content
AMAZING content! Great work dude, I really enjoyed this
Wow I can’t believe he got noticed by you
This guy should have way more views. I’ve been watching all day
I love your content! It is so well put together and very informative. I can't wait till you do videos on the Responders and the Free States!
If only the raiders realized that the scotch beast cure was real and the factions worked together to fight the scorched destroy the enclave and nuke the queen it would be a very different wasteland
Cooperation would have saved the inhabitants of the wasteland from their collective untimely deaths.
I make it a head cannon that the players eradicate them or the nova giants kill them
These videos are really well made man.
Great video! I havent played 76 and knew nothing abt this game compared to the others and U had me hooked! Subscribed!
Your channel is going to explode with this content
That’s why I laughed at people who launched nukes in game and just killed eachother, what have they learned? Nothing the old world fell because they forgot how to talk to eachother they forgot how to think of something other than themselves it’s humanities greatest flaw
I launched a nuke cause I need irradiated flux for my jet pack
It’s mostlikly not cannon we launched nukes but also we are players what did you expect we build back Appalachia HELL NO that’s not my problem is it
@@TheMissle the greed is
@@spookieboogi6161 I disagree all players I have seen in my 60 hours of gameplay are friendly and drop items for people even high leveles
@@TheMissle that’s not what I’ve seen I’ve seen high levels camping workshops to prey on low levels trying to grind resources I’ve seen roving gangs of high levels that surround low levels with power tools and break entire suits of power armor I’ve seen them attack people for no reason. I’ve even seen people drop nukes on peoples camps to force them out of a spot because they dared to have their camp spawn where theirs was. Your experience isn’t mine chief and I find it very difficult to justify dropping nukes constantly when beyond the 1 time you need to do it to save the world.
Great comprehensive video!
So basically it was a combination of maxson's stupidity and taggerdy's arrogance and "distrust" (read as disdain) of "civvies" that lead to Appalachia being overrun with scorched?
That and the Responders not trusting the BoS when they said they were fighting an apocalyptic threat, and Free States and Responders not cooperating, leading them to in effect duplicate work in the process. Lack of cooperation in the face of a second apocalyptic threat destroyed them.
Spoiler - watch the fallout tv
Nah
Still the one thing people don’t get is how the Appalachian Brotherhood learned the dress code and logo.
They were able to transmit entire schematics (Ultracite Power Armor, Sensor Module), I figure the logo and uniforms were transmitted similarly.
@@IrresoluteCartographer Ah yeah probably, it’s just something that isn’t explained in depth so it’s something people have a problem with.
There are definitely things that I wish we got more of an explanation on, but I enjoy feeling of discovery that comes with unearthing the lore. I will say that it’s odd that with an organization as regimented as the Brotherhood, that there aren’t more dates on logs/journals/tapes/emails
I dont get why u are not more popular like you are far better than oxhorn who drags lore out to a super cringe and boring way. U have high quality like i will share you with the few fallout friends i have as you hands down have the best lore vids of fallout.
Thank you this video, getting back into 76 and I wanted to know more ❤
Let the record state that Christopher Maloney (the school account, not this one) was the 3 thousandth subscriber. I am god.
Thanks for rolling that number over from 2999!
Amazing vid, it needs more Views!
Thank you for spreading the lore.
After all of this I can't understand why some player choose Knight Shin side. His ideals are the reason why the Appalachian Brotherhood fell. Refuse to cooperate with other faction & only keeping technology for their own let the fall of the Appalchian Brotherhood.
Great video!
Awesome and informative. Thanks.
Awsome video
What happened to maxson that made him change the directive to just focusing on acquiring technology ?
The mission to collect and preserve technology was his own idea in the beginning; a purpose around which the Brotherhood could orient itself. Despite this, they initially had a split focus that included helping those in need. I believe that over time his son and his lieutenants changed the priorities, and influenced him in their direction. The recording of his final conversation with Paladin Taggerdy details his frustration with his son and his fellows turning against outsiders.
I wonder what happend to Appalachia I
During fallout 4 it’s probably over run with scorch beasts and wendios and it’s mostlikly the nova robots delt with them
I wish id played 76 before the wastelanders update. It was a masterclas in environmental storytelling. Damn shame the bugs marred its release.
I really enjoyed the world pre-wastelanders. The environment storytelling was amazing, but it also felt so much more apocalyptic than any other Fallout game. The Vault Dwellers were the only people walking the wasteland. It made it feel like our actions were hugely important.
The Appalachian brotherhood failed but they will be remembered
I can’t find part 2? By any chance was this lore series cancelled?
It’s not cancelled, I just haven’t made it yet, it will cover the Brotherhood of Steel Expeditionary Force lead by Paladin Leila Rahmani from their cross country odyssey, to their split following the defeat of Dr. Blackburn
@@IrresoluteCartographer oh alright. And ty for the reply :)
Great video
Had to sub >:)
So the Scorched are just corona zombies damn
Eerie, right? Bats have been a known vector for human disease for a long time, of course, but it was definitely odd to be playing a game where the region had been ravaged by a bat disease escaped from a lab as the pandemic was raging.
L
Too bad i dont consider them to be canon. The BoS never left the Lost Hills Bunker. And i'd love it if Bethesda stopped shoving them into places they dont belong.
Whether or not you consider it to be canon does not affect the canonicity of the material. The original Appalachian Brotherhood of Steel originated in Appalachia through radio contact with Roger Maxson, they did not leave California. As for the Brotherhood of Steel’s First Expeditionary Force, they broke contact with the Western Elders shortly after they arrived. The idea that the Western Brotherhood would scrub the existence of a rebel chapter from the records is not inconceivable. Along with this, the earliest years of Roger Maxson’s organization, from pre-BoS to early BoS after their arrival at the Lost Hills Bunker was a practical unknown prior to Fallout 76.
😎
Oxhorn sh games got nothing on you. I miss storyteller though
Fallout 76 worldbuilding is amazing, shame it went to waste
Nothing went to waste.
Gotta love fan fiction
All of this is from canonical lore found in game.
@@IrresoluteCartographer Their talking about 76 as a whole. The Brotherhood never left California prior to Fallout 1. 76 comes off as nothing but a Retcon to the entire Franchise.
