Actually, I think it's nice Astarion gets to step away from the spectacle behind sex. This is the first time in 200 years Astarion gets to have sex without the spectacle or an ulterior motive. For sex to be just an expression of love for someone he cares about, for him to get to focus on both his own body and a genuine partner. It sounds grounding after centuries of dissociation.

Everyone keeps saying that they can't imagine Gale and Astarion together, and keep forgetting all the stuff they have in common: -Both can be quite snarky and humorous, just in different flavors -Both mask when interacting with others, which only melts the more you get to know them -Both can be power-hungry and, depending on how you play, you can either feed into that hunger or assure them that they are enough as they are. -Both like to read (this is more apparent with Gale, but Astarion is the only other companion you see in camp spend his time reading when you aren't talking to him or there isn't a cutscene playing), and on a tangentially related note they are both the two people you can choose to give the Necromancy of Thay to, which makes me imagine them teaming up, standing beside each other, and yelling at the book together XD -Gale is a cat lover, and a lot of the fandom say Astarion is very cat-like. -This isn't a similarity, but seriously, how are more people not jumping on the Troubled Bad Boy/Bookish Nerd archtype, or making some kind of Pride and Prejudice AU with them?????
Gale talks about understanding ravenous destructive hunger too. And when interacting with His Majesty you get approval from Astarion. He's definitely a cat person too. I really like these two together.

i just feels wrong when i think how their conversations went when i had them in my party, especially when they meet each other.
