Man, I wish they had added voice acting for the Origins for the romance scenes. I know it's unrealistic for the whole game, but they could have done the romance scenes and it would have been amazing.
I feel like Astarion and Karlach would have such a great dynamic together, both of them want to start living their own lives, both yearn for freedom, both were prisoners, both were slaves, having Karlach as a romance is amazing because it provides Astarion the ability to connect with someone without being intimate. And Astarion would then proceed to help her with her engine once he truly knows her. They respect each other greatly and I feel like they could have great potential as partners

Karlach makes you feel better by holding you close amd making you happy while Wyll wants to protect you from the feelings that hurt you. Wyll is really patient and careful with him, which is what he needs.

The amount of permutation this game has is insane... It's impossible for one person to see it all within a reasonable time. Play as a different character, romance another different character. It's endless and it's mindboggling.
It's very sad that their romance doesn't have a happy ending in any combination, unless the original ascended Astarion in Avernus with Karlach (but that's debatable). or one of them must become illithid (terrifying).

Here it seems like he has no reluctance or regrets, he just goes into the romance with Karlach happily, and it’s sweet and genuine and lmao idk I feel jealous that it’s not the same when you romance him, like there’s something missing. This is so cute though.
I always took it as the difference in his position in the group. When it's origin, Astarion is the leader of the group. He has power and control over them all. He's coming from a position higher than he would as a companion. When Tav is being romanced, Tav has the power in the relationship, which makes Astarion fall into habits, like his need to act, to pretend.

No one will ever be able to convince me that these two aren’t perfect for each other. He even still stays with Karlach and will kiss her if she’s an Illithid! Seriously! When it’s her he literally doesn’t care what she looks like, he really does love her!🥹💕
My game glitched out and skipped everything else after ordering, I thought it was totally normal and when I realized it wasn't I was too far into the game to go back 😭 this is so cute, i can't believe i missed all this!

You know, it's clips like these that really make me appreciate Neil's work as the VA for Astarion. He is just SO DIFFERENT when he is silent. I thought he was the silent, broodish Twilight type vampire when I first saw this clip. Thank Gods I continued to explore and go to see the version with Neil's voice. His entire personality is so developed and different based on just the voice acting alone, really shows that the character design is clearly not everything. This is not just an emo vampire, this is a sassy emo vampire with tantrums like a princess, bites like a viper and yet the face of a Greek god. Not that he needs to speak to charm but still.
This is extremely sweet and I'm happy, envious, relieved, confused at the same time lol I really pictured my Tav's relationship with Astarion as playful back and forth with tons of sweet moments (TONS.) so I will steal this moment for my whole headcanon Tav x Asty deal.
