I had no expectations of working on a Diablo in the parking lot of the Portofina Inn, but when you are around Ed Bolian you never know what’s going to happen.
well its kinda always been like that, as that's the same place where they filmed the cannonball run, well gumball rally, where they brought two geniune ferrari daytona spiders and a proper shelby cobra one of which was driven by Raul Julia, so the spirt of crazyness lives on
The most yakuza detail is the licence plate. There is no reservation for licence plate number in Japan. Any repeating numbers / spaces are mostly yakuza cars.
License plates with 3's are HIGHLY desirable aswell. To the point when the number comes up they will cut in line and TAKE the plate from whoever might be checking out and allow them the plate.
I have a really good collab marketing project that could help you in more ways than one... collab with DrDisrespect. He could get a lot of subscribers over here, he is famous for THIS exact car 😆 Any gamer will know his work, even mtdew sponsors his 3d work.
So a guy I knew had shaved door handles on his body dropped, extended cab s10. Locked the key fob in it... I grabbed the antenna off my own Chevy Silverado, and started fishing. The truck was sitting there running so he was starting to get antsy, and he walked off to the edge of the parking lot. About the time I was able to push the button on the key fob I looked up and he was throwing a rock through the passenger side window. The rock smashed the window , hit the dash and smashed the head unit too...... And he looks up as I opened the driver side door..... Sometimes people don't think effectively in a stressful situation.
Was lucky enough to meet the head of team Anija and some of his family. Incredibly hospitable people who have created some of the wildest supercars out there. Even let me sit in their Mclaren P1!
1) I love the provenance stories of these cars 2) Ed casually talks about buying exotic cars like I talk about getting lunch from a fast food place 3) 7000 is an awesome tag to have, perhaps he they wanted 007, but someone with a higher status in the “org” had that one 😉
Thanks to everyone for taking me along on the roadtrip to Vegas, I had an absolutely awesome time hanging out in Gloss it and helping out on the Diablo, it's a stunning car and went through an even more stunning transformation while there. I can't honestly put into words how much I love going on car adventures with my friends.
ed i saw you and john going through PA the other week in the rolls royce on your cross country trek, i was giving you guys the thumbs up on the motorcycle
You had luck on your side that weekend, first making it across in the Rolls and then making it to Vegas in the Lambo. Me: “did you get it serviced when it arrived?” Ed: “nope” I really wish I had your luck, for me both cars would have broke lol.
Mentioned around 8:05 is Cameron Davis of DC motor works(?) and their Mercedes 6.9? My friend Alexander used to own one and we did a crazy trip from Wisconsin to South Dakota and back in one diesel 80’s Mercedes to pick up that 70’s (or late 60’s) gasser 6.9 450sel. Memories 😇
I have a vinwiki sticker on everything i own and Eds always got the best stories but i have been busy with life so the only thing better then two lambo up loads would of been El Chappos car in his garage....Glad to be back
Awesome purchase Ed, looks great. I look forward to seeing the next video... just like I look forward to VINwiki someday maybe actually being able to be installed on my Pixel 7 Pro.
it’s good + to a degree necessary to keep the car stock , the car is insecure enough if u reach 200mph , on a level like that it’s not a toy any more , (‘til today I drove never faster than a 140 ) (I’m working on it) I own one since 3years
I was out in Arizona back in 1999 and bought an original '73 Chevy orange/white Heavy Half square body at an auction for $1,500. Got in it and drove it ALL the way back to Pflugerville, Texas, aka home. My only issue was a pin hole in the upper radiator hose at the hose clamp that I simply got out of the way by cutting the hose end off and kept on my merry way. . . . LOVED that damn truck!
Unpopular opinion: I hope this car gets fully returned to stock. Diablo SVs are stunning. Shame on the people that defiled it with their questionable taste
“I bought too many Lamborghinis and had to take out a loan to buy another one”. What a problem to have. lol. Too bad you restored to stock the look was brilliant, especially that ridiculous exhaust on the back. 😂
For some reason it makes me laugh that your philosophy of buying a vehicle (or not) is a "terrible example of a really cool car" 😂 for at least some of your collection . It makes it so much more fun and adds such a hilarious story to why you have the car/how you got it/etc.
Rather than removing the rear tire, removing the gas gap and taping it back down on the outside, why didn't you simply call a locksmith AND have a key made?
Ed I've never heard anyone describe a diablo as unreliable, I mean its not a bat guano gallardo that self destructs its audi made engine in its audi made shell, thanks to be overstraigned by its audi 4 wheel drive system, its a lamborghini, its like a ford, the harder you beat on it, the better it runs and the only failing part on them WAS the stupid 4 wheel drive system they stuck on them after the very first VT's were made without that disasterious system that stole half the fun of owning a lambo and the SV, BUCKED that damn system and went back to two wheel drive, thus saving over 400 pounds of weight off the front end, which is probably where 90% of the improved performance came from, in addition to the functional cooling ducts on the roof like you finally own an actual lambo, with proper italian bodywork, a proper engine and transmission, and it hasnt been ruined by that damn 4 wheel drive system they slapped on them to try and make them compete with cars like the bugatti EB110 and the porsche 911 carrera turbo 4S although one thing puzzles me, Rienstones, as in Reinstone cowboys, like what is their a branch of the yakuza that's big into american culture or did you buy it from that one guy with the eye patch from the Yakuza games who was always wearing crap like that and if you sell it I want first dibs also I think your car was imported to japan, I dont think they made any for that market, so theirs gotta be a paper trail in the US somewhere, as I bet it was exported in 99', and then the guy got wacked and the car got sold afterwards
@@jasonconrad4314 Ahh, someone who failed comprehension. Ed mentioned he couldn't fit in the first Diablo, (hence one of the reasons to sell it) but thankfully he was able to fit in the "new" one for the drive from Long Beach to Vegas.

It may be controversial, the modified diablo actually had some cool Japanese mods going for it. I liked the state it was in, a yakuza relic.
Team Anija is legendary. They push boundaries.!
It genuinely looked cool, and had the story to go with it.. bit of a pity to undo the wing, bumper delete and the crazy exhaust

I had a 88-88 plate for my Ferrari in Japan. Not Yakuza related.
This might be the craziest car I have ever bought but I love it WAY more than I expected to.
Enjoy it how you want it, it's your joy, but have you given any thought to a period correct, genuine Anija build being worth a lot more someday?
Keep up the sublime purchases!
There's just something badass about a Diablo. More civil than a Countach, but not yet tamed. 👍
I liked how it looked from japan , why go back to stock and look like every other Diablo ? We are about the same age I really would like to know
That bumper delete and exhaust looked slick.
Some of the Anija bits will have to stay. What should the end result of this project be?
I have a really good collab marketing project that could help you in more ways than one... collab with DrDisrespect. He could get a lot of subscribers over here, he is famous for THIS exact car 😆 Any gamer will know his work, even mtdew sponsors his 3d work.
Keep the wing!!!!
Stock SV
Redoing your mobile app would be a nice finish
Definitely keep the wing, maybe update the underglow for some RGB fun.
Clearly Ed and Jarrod need a collaboration with The Lock Picking Lawyer. "Drill the lock out?!? Let me grab my kit .... and, it's open!" 😂
Just like me testing the compression in an old diesel, nothing on one...
Nothing on two...
Oh.
We got something on three

Diablo looking beautiful! Aloha !
Another silky smooth segue, Edward!
Not too long ago Doug DeMuro was the boss of the TH-cam car community. It safe to say that Ed Bolian now took his crown
With less than half the subs? Might be jumping the gun a little bit here.
Idk what you're basing this on? Dougs channel has way more subs and views and he is the owner of Cars and Bids which is making him millions.
So excited to help you find your Diablo, and excited to have you in the Diablo crew, @edbolian @vinwiki! Excited to see this car’s evolution!
Love it! I was born in 1980 and have many similar interests!
Read the video title, knew it was an Ed video, dropped everything to watch. Never a disappointment with a good story from Ed.
WOW!!! Truly fantastic! I love your stories, and you having the balls to do the crazy shit you do!

Love a classic Diablo. Hope you restore it to it's former glory, Ed. 👍
Love the shirt Ed - and the story of course
Just in time for Christmas! You should have an elf driving this thing.
Congratulations Ed
how cool of a story...ed you have the best car stories my dude!
I love the Japanese Lamborghini style. Such a fun look.
The Yakuza personalize their Diablos like Americans did to their 5.0’s in the 80’s.
Is Ed wearing eyeliner?
Probably. He's been on pain dope since the back injury I believe.
Damn Ed! You are always full of surprises! Can't wait to hear more about this car.😅
I LOOOOVE my Gloss-It Graphine stuff! Absolutely amazing product!
Team Anija has the best Zonda C12 S in the world.
Not my flavor but some of those japanese modded lambos are amazing.
Looking forward to the video on this car! A shame the Anija mods (for the most part) won’t stay. But this car is beautiful stock regardless.
Only Ed can get a car like this! Great video great memories!

That car is too nice Ed. You must sell it immediately.
You never disappoint
Dang would have loved to have seen it when you stopped at dennys.
Diablo best lamborghini. 90s kid. The one without pop ups the last generations.
Also mclaren f1 best supercar first hypercar imo.
Ed would sell predatory loans to his own children
Story was so much cooler with the Anija look. Kinda sad you brought it back to stock.
I wonder how the former owner of the car feels about his plate being on t-shirts now lol
Wouldn't a lock Smith have been easier to call for the gas door issue

Your wife must be a certifiable saint at this point.

Should have kept it how it came from Japan

I could understand about the stock resale value. But to go from that red to vomit Ryobi green??? To each their I guess. Poor Diablo.🤢

Been waiting for this story since I saw your IG post @Ed
Feel bad for the sucker who bought his old Diablo #baskitcase
*Finally!* Someone who admits they don't fit inside a supercar! Even if I had the money I'd never own one, for that exact reason.
