Once I saw the title I was hoping for an Ed video and thought of his love for the lp640. I was not disappointed. Love you, Ed. Keep being you and you’re unintentional purchases and actions.
I love Ed! He is literally the only person who would ever make this video. He clearly didn't want to get this car and is honest about it, and yet those car salesman genes are still able to make up a way to justify it. I'm sure he'll still make out like a bandit in the end on this deal.
Love listening to your stories, Ed! How does someone who has never owned an exotic, get into them? I am looking for a cheap project to start and want to get into something cool, like an older Porsche, and flip it. Goal is to get into an exotic. 🙏 would love to know how you got your first one! Thanks, from Redondo Beach(the end of cannonball 🤙)
Nothing air-cooled from Porsche is cheap anymore, except maybe 914s, and you'd have to 6-cyl swap to bring bigger money (which is expensive now because the air-cooled 6es are also very high dollar items). Even the front-engine water-cooled transaxle cars are appreciating in price for the moderate and nicer ones. I don't like to be a "negative Nancy" but given the current market, it's going to be very difficult to use a Porsche as the starting point. Maybe as a mid-point it would work better.
3:25 wow name drop. Roy Cats man that guy has so many Lamborghinis. I love cats exotic. I used to live 5mins from Cats Exotics (Lynnwood,WA) it’s his side hustle exotic car dealership, his main job was he ones like a fire safety company called FPI. He had Koenigsegg CCX, a Vector, A Diablo with an American flag on it, OH he had Minardi Lamborghini F1 car a 1 point for sale. So if this is the only blue gated Murciélago than I’ve seen this car multiple times. I’ve seen Mr. Cats a couple times at exotic car show we have in Redmond, WA close to the Microsoft HQ and always brings really cool cars.
My observation on bidders like Ed is this, they bid to drive the value up with zero intent of owning and honestly bloat the values. They justify it however they want, but you’re creating a false market…which leads to large swings in market values that causes financial instability. My suggestion, STOP IT! Bid on what you intend on buying, stop screwing others by driving up the price.
But he bought it, so everything you just said doesn't apply. These cars are worth what people are willing to pay. The other bidder could have tapped out at any time.
Thing you’ve got to remember about Ed is that he is a sleazy used car salesman. Charming, witty, personable, and very likeable, and his job is to extract as much money as possible from the people he deals with. Great guy to talk to or have a beer with as long as you remember his ultimate goal is to buy and sell cars with as much profit for himself as possible.🤷 It’s the American way.
I could listen to Ed read directions to put furniture together and still be entertained and would be excited to hear it. Ed, you are a true car enthusiast. I saw this car in 2019 in front of my house, the owner revved it for me and it has remained one of the most iconic cars I've ever spotted. glad to see it is in good hands!
I bought a motorcycle on Ebay, I called the finance office of the dealership and settled. Turns out they listed it for $12k when they wanted to list it for $16.5K. They refused to release the bike. In fact they stopped taking my calls. The finance manager called me and asked how I was enjoying the bike. I explained to him what is happening. Two hours later the finance manager called me back, they are shipping the motorcycle immediately. By this time I was days away from deploying over seas. I got the bike just in time to put it in storage. I had to wait 9 months to get to ride it. My auction site story.
