Welcome to the best sequel of any game that is Banjo Tooie!
Join me and Kyle as we 100% this game from start to finish.

This is a special episode just for Canary Mary, the bane of everyone's existence when it came to playing Banjo Tooie 100%. The rematch you have with her is at Cloud CuckooLand where you have to be on a Clockwork mouse and race against her by rapidly pressing A (Nintendo 64) or X (Xbox Live Arcade).
Here's the deal though, she has a rubber-band mechanic to where she will be ahead of you if you pass her in the race for a short amount of time. It is really frustrating to race against her and even though it seems easy; It is not, it is the repetitive motion of rapidly pressing the button that leaves your hand and your arm hurting. So it is near impossible to beat this in one go.
The key trick to beating the Canary Mary rematch is to always be neck and neck with her. Keep up but do not go ahead of her for the majority of the race. When the finish line is in sight and there is little distance left, that is when you press as fast as you can to the finish line. That way she can not react in time before the race finishes.
The most important trick, it is to pause the game as soon as you get tired because it will tire your hand and arm out. We are all games, we know when to stop mashing buttons when it calls for it. If you have played this game or any other game that requires mass amount of button mashing for a period of time, you know how much it hurts afterwards, even after you fail time and time again... it's just ridiculous!
So short in short, keep neck and neck with Canary Mary, push for the finish line when you are a short distance away, you will know when that finish line is arriving, and the most important detail, pause the game when you are tired to rest and get back your energy. You know how it is.
Curious question, what finger do you use to button mash or use as your trigger finger?
I use my index finger for button mashing as you will see in this video.
So hopes this helped you out because there are people out there that want to kill Canary Mary because of this Rematch race. They have perfected the time-reaction in the Xbox Live Arcade version since this is updated after-all.
