Wow thanks so much for the shout out guys, you do so much for the community! Quick correction, on location, we are Australian, so if your in New York it might be a long trip.
Great episode, I loved questions and answers. I personally would love no pre-measuring and back to cards. I understand like you said that cards would be harder and more expensive.
The solution is simple... Let people have a print list or print card function in the app. Because personally if it is app only, I WON'T BE PLAYING. Set the print file up so it is just a fold over card. Then people can use a top loader or card sleeve for the game. It takes 5 minutes to ₩print, cut, fold and reload. Just put a date stamp on the card and in the app and card don't match... well the unit is illegal and either reprint or DQ. Problem solved...
@@maxhipp1123 I am honestly so far out of the loop it is not even funny. Long story short. Mk3 launch trashed the local meta. We did not touch mk3 again until mid 2020 out of boredom during the lock downs. We were pleasantly surprised by the game state. At this point my micro meta of 4 players are waiting for their armies of choice. The city wide meta is deader than dead. I have not even heard a peep from the last mk3 group in the past few months. As a ret player... dusk is a hard pass. If I wanted diet cryx I would just play cryx. Pirate trollbloods did nothing for me. So i am waiting on skorne. Maybe cryx.... I only played one game with my cryx in mk2. I had never wrecked my opponent like that, before or since. So they became my art project, Possibly revisit cryx? Depending on what comes out. I have 6 of the female brute thralls that could finally see the table. My brother is holding out for menoth. One of our group already had orgoth, cygnar and Khador. The last guy was looking at legion 2.0 but has not taken the plunge. So I think he is holding out for circle.
@@warforged144 A. It's a big turn off and barrier for new players. B. GW has such requirements, and that is a shitty company. C. Enforcement will be a dumpster fire and will cause at least a 10% loss of players.
@Zieg_Games honestly if it's a turn off for new players go play video games you will save a ton of cash. Gw might be a shit company but it doesn't mean they do t have good ideas. When gw put this into practice everyone said the same thing. Looks like GW games are as popular as ever and now there are painted armies everywhere. Seems all positive to me
@@warforged144 “Popular” bc there are no true alternatives. GW is also “popular” due to multimedia outreach, those video games you are so dismissive of. This barrier to entry is superficial and focused more on gatekeeping rather than improving the game. So, no. Your logic is faulty and I feel dumber for having read it.
I hate painting minis. Not "scared" of, or worried about difficulty, I absolutely despise it. I started in mark 1 partially because of PP's attitude of it's a game to be played that happens to have a hobby. Would absolutely despise if it became a requirement for local tournies.
I don't think that will be a requirement for most or any local tournaments. We have no intention of doing anything like that for NOVA. The only fully painted required tournament i know of is Adepticon, and that's more about what Adepticon represents than the Warmachine events being held there. That said, i don't see any reason not to at least encourage painted armies. We love to have best painted contests for the more artistically inclined in our community. I also take no joy in painting mini's. It's not an activity that I have figured out how to enjoy. At the same time i definitely have more fun when i come to the table with painted models instead of a wall of gray.
@@andybev4 I get that, anything that is going to be used as a big promotion such as gencon it makes perfect sense and should be up to the TO. I just worry when they answer the question "manifesto said game should appeal to everyone... what are you planning on to support those different audiences." to which the answer was "to make painting as important... even painting to three color minimum." implying a minimum means that this is a requirement, since the only place they can enforce this is official tournaments you can see where the concern is.
Thanks for the shout-out!
I'm all in on Mat's 2 rattle can and a metallic can look GOOD. That's how I'm going to do my Cryx when they come!

Oops!! Apologies for that! Thanks for the clarification and battle reports :D
Great convo. Looking forward to the future of the game.

Just adding that there is already a print list option in the Desktop version of the App, just in case you don't know
@@maxhipp1123 It is about as interesting as an excel file, lacks date stamp and the cards overflow onto other pages

Have concerns about painting requirements for armies
Dude painting is so easy and makes the game so much better. Who the hell wants to play with all silver surfers

I am betting ZuMenoth is one of those armies… or at least I hope.
I'm not adapting... I ask several times my opponents stats and health ect.... 😂 Gimme cards and damaged markers back
