Luckily, I scored this off of Facebook marketplace for a fraction of what it would have cost to set it up. The only thing I've done was add my 4 channel radio, battery, new wheels and tires, and replaced the front and rear servos. One of which I had on hand already! I'd be surprised if I had $300 wrapped up this. This spot is definitely a recurring theme in my videos. It's an old quarry not far from where I live. Pretty much been granted the keys to the castle. The owner is really cool.

Thanks, man. I capture in 1080P/120FPS and then slow video down to the best playback percentage that seems to make the most sense. It's different for each rig, it seems. It really mellows things out.

I love this thing. Absolutely. Love. It. It's been a while since I liked an RC as much as this one (my beloved TF2 Midnight Ed.) If you're interested, there are a few on Facebook marketplace which is where I found this one. For ONLY $200!!! I've added a better servo setup all around and changed the wheels and tires - that's it!
Well, plus my Dumbo RC (RGT) radio system. If you want a fresh one, they're going fast. Last I checked there only 4 left at AMain 2 kits and 2 RTR versions. 10/10 - highly recommended.
Oh, on the Bully II note. Yes and even more yes. My ONLY issue with getting one of those is that I would really have to find the right place to take it to challenge it. The MOA rigs are ridiculously capable. But this R1 sort of covers the ground of bash rig, rock crawler, and overall monster machine all in one. I think I'd get one of these before a Bully II just based on the do-all sort of nature it has.👍 Many, many thumbs up.
@@VermontScaleCustoms Thanks for the tip, 200 seems like a better deal, considering you have to provide electronics. I feel the same way about certain RCs they’re are a few that you REALLY enjoy upgrading and modding.
The RTR from Amain is $330, but it doesn't have 4Ws fresh out of the box. But it is ready to go.

I upgraded the front servo to a 25Kg, moved the 20Kg to the rear, and put the plastic gear one back on the ECX Temper. What I need next is either a Transmitter that can run both servos at once or to get this thing I found the other day that operates 4WS by issuing steering commands through the steering wheel of the Tx. Ii made need to get me an R1. I love running my Temper but it has a broken steering axle and I can't find them anywhere.
Highly recommended. It's super fun to run because it just does it all without any hesitation.
If you don't find the parts fix the axle you could always get different axles, longer links & driveshafts and turn the Temper into a longer wheelbase rock buggy. But I'd still get an R1 just because. Do it, man! You owe it to yourself is what I say ALL THE TIME.
I was kinda a ifi fan of these till I saw these videos they look fun are they expancive
I'm a big fan of using Facebook Marketplace for a lot of used crawler purchases. I have gotten many through that portal.
I got very lucky - well, I hawkeyed this one for weeks until I made the move. I picked this one up for $200 plus a few bucks for shipping.
However, I had to replace BOTH servos fresh out of the box. I have also upgraded both of them already to handle the load (25Kg front/20Kg rear)
They don't come with 4 Wheel Steering setup. That's a bunch of aftermarket stuff that mine came with already. BIG Score!

At that price point, you've got multiple other options like the Enduro, the new Axial Deadbolt release, and a couple of other GMade trucks. None of which I have any experience running.
With all the aftermarket stuff that came with this buggy, it would be well over $600 to build. Which is why I nabbed it when I saw it on Marketplace. I knew what I was looking at with the way it was set up. I've been keeping an eye out on Marketplace to see what's still out there right now. Currently there are 3-4 used ones there. Some fully set up, some aren't.

In real life? Dude, my left hip joint is so jacked right now. Sleeping, playing drums, even sitting can be deeply painful. Luckily playing drums is the least painful out of all three. I don't know what I;d do if I couldn't practice. I'd lose my mind.

I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety. Knees are probably the worst thing about the human form. The damn things are backwards! Upright man has it all wrong! So, I feel ya, man. I skated for most of my teens up into my twenties and got tired of smacking the pavement all the time and breaking bones.
I snowboarded for well over 30 years. It's actually why I moved to VT (to work as a board builder for Burton and be a product tester) - so many flat landings off of poorly designed jumps. Ambulance rides suck.

I have indeed. Are you gonna get one? I have no plans to buy one, personally. I'm going to be building a Jeep of another kind. In another month or so when the chassis I just ordered yesterday arrives.
