putting a 70mm shocks will lift it more?
You can check but I don't know for sure! Considering how much flex is in the leaf springs, 70mm might stretch them to a point where they don't have any down travel left.

What a beautiful truck! I’ve always wanted a lc79, they’re magnificent. The scale is amazing 👍
Yeha, when I saw this I was all in from the start. It's not a cheap kit to build, either so it was cool getting such a good deal on it!🖖😎
Freaking Awsome scale run dude!!! Really like that body!
Can you imagine looking at this on the shelf for two years wondering how I was ever going to get it running again?
😂😂sadly all too well lol!!!! I got some sitters hard to work on them All!!!! Tend to focus on one then it sits and work on and drive another…..if I have 3-4 good running rigs in doing well lol!
Yes the voice- Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you, too! It seems l do like to ramble on, don't I, lol?
Hello, I liked your video again!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Thank you as always! Hope you are doing well, Seven!🖖😎
Awesome video, love the slow crawl, beautiful truck!
Thanks, yeah I never should have let this one sit broken as long as I did. Glad to have it back up and running.
Awesome little truck great video❗😊👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!🖖😎
@@VermontScaleCustoms 😊
Such a cool truck. Are the rear leafs the 3 hole? if so you could shift the axle forward a hole. Otherwise somebody makes a shorter leaf that you could install to center up that rear axle. I have no experience with this setup. I have always flipped the rear shackle mount or got the ones from Bowhouse. The front relocation is almost a must as the stock shackle contacts the body and limits travel. Take care.
That's a good idea. Gives me an option to maybe redrill and just move it. The Teraflex stuff adds massive amounts of flex but it really messes with the wheelbase. I'd like to do the skid plate mod to this too but the interior requires a fair bit of space plus this has a two speed so I need room for the shift servo.
@ yeah, it’s an awesome rig and you got a smokin deal.
Awesome Stuff Buddy. Looks Good. Cool you got it fixed. I Like that body. Great RUn :)
Thanks, man! Yeah, super psyched i got this back up and running.
Did you have any issues with the mn metal axles and the wheels spinning loose when running? I just tossed some Injora wheels on MN metal upgrade axles and the screw rotates in the same direction as the wheels so they have spun off in some test rides. Tossing some blue locktight to see if that helps nut wondering if you ran into something similar since you have a similar setup.
The WPL/MN axle screw thing has been a thing for as long as I've been into the hobby. Spot on, it's the amount of contact and torque rotating against the tension that holds it. Silly idea but easy to deal with. A dab of Loctite on the end before threadingin should do the trick, just don't use too much or you'll strip screw heads getting them back out.
@ cool. And yeah. Seems silly. Ordered some metal 5mm to 7mm hex adaptors. Feel like they should do better than the 3D printed ones that are just spinning. 😞 Like, i get having various part styles but after a point it’s just makes sense to go universal on certain part/accessory sizes
I've always been surprised at how well 5mm hex actually held for the size wheel it was turning. Despite the screw issues, I've never had one strip out on me. Even the plastic wheels. Yeah, the MN111 came with 9mm hex. Pick a size and stick with it, everyone. It seems that 7mm is the universally accepted choice for all things 1/18 and smaller. No need to complicate it like they do.
Sweet build
Thank you! Solid runner, for sure.
Hello, Very nice, have a nice day! 🍀 Greetings from Seven🖖
Hello and Happy New Year! Thanks for watching, Seven.🖖😎
@@VermontScaleCustoms Hello, Thank you likewise!🍀Happy New Year!🎉 Greetings Seven🖖
Dude super cool little video! Beautiful build Awsome camera work. Been loving the 1:1 yotas dashing through snow lately Ohhh that’s some sticky mud!! It made it though!!!
Would you believe I've had this truck for almost 4 years? Marketplace score! Over $1200 in truck for $495 + s&h!! It even came with the metal bed. I blew up the front diff driving in snow a couple months after I got it. Took me forever to get the driveshaft pin extracted because the guy used red loctite. It's a beast on a 35T 540 but I just ordered a 1200Kv quicrun SE brushless. Should be here tomorrow.
great rig. I miss my tf2 with lc70 just like this truck. Can't go build another lwb when I already have 3 ..
I got this used off Marketplace almost 4 years ago and blew up the front diff a couple months after getting it. I finally got the front driveshaft pin out a few days and got the helical gears installed. I forgot how much of a beast this thing is.
Great video, just one question, what kind of oil did you use and could I have a link?
I keep 10W30 in an oral syringe on my desk. I use it for every thing. Oil overthinkers make life hard. I usually adjust with spring rate and want the shocks to flow easily and smoothly. Any heavier and it's limiting speed of travel.
I like the yellow shocks like Bilstien, its all a white wash here nice to see the ground.
Those are some fancy licensed Old Man Emus. Basically the exact same thing as the ones up front just painted and with Emu's logo graphics on them. They're Bilsteins up front. Just ordered a brushless 540 for it. Should be here in a few days.
Looking GOOD :)
👍🖖😎
wORK IT bABY HAHAHAHAHA. Love this stuff man. I put some Grease in a Kids Medicine syringe thing. You do things i wouldn't think to do. LIke clean out the little pieces. Happy New Year Bro.
Definitely bench tricks to make working easier. Gotta clean and inspect everything when worn/broken metal is involved. The last set stripped out so it was worth it to check everything.
Will i be able to put 43mm injora shocks on the mn82 stock body?
They'd be too short. 43mm are more for 1/24 trucks.
I got tired of messing with these. Lgrp just dropped some super 8 ujoint inner axles. Throwing away all my cvd crap
One of the reasons I won't run Meus axles is that they released a U-Joint set for the Super 8 and the truck didn't even make it off the bench before the pins popped and destroyed one side just checking steering angle. But for these, and the amount I run this truck, this fix was perfect.
@. Iv had more problems with the meus axles than the super 8.
Smooth Jazz biscuits, Happy New Year and good luck for 2025
I figured I'd let the jazz do the talking on this one! Happy New Year to you, too. Have a great 2025!
@@VermontScaleCustoms I was listening to Jazz and then clicked on your video, seamless 👊🏻
Happy new year 🎉
Happy new year to you, as well!
you have inspired me to build a 1/24 dicast Tacoma, the TRD Pro you mentioned in the video will be here today! I bought all the components needed for the build. I have a 3D printer and CAD experience so I will be able to make brackets and such as needed... thanks for the inspiration! I will mention you in my build video coming soon...
That's awesome. I know this sparked a lot of interest in making it happen. I still run it. The thing has been a trooper. I should do an update video soon and go over some of the minor details. It's great that you can 3D print for it. That will definitely streamline things more. The mounting from the factory would be a great thing to lock right back onto but I'm not sure how much room there would be for activities like a motor and electronics.
@ looking forward to your update… that’s an awesome little rig!
Well the TRD pro arrived! What a disappointment! 😕 it clearly states on the website 1/24 scale diecast Tacoma but what I received is a 1/27 scale… 😒. Looks nice but I’m so disappointed.
Yeah, I went through that with the gray one I did. I saw they had it detailed as 1/24 over the last year while I had it on preorder. Once the order dropped I saw that it said 1:27. Aggravating but oh well. It's just toys.
It seems your eBay link is no longer valid for the 10ax2 ESC. Can you provide an updated link? Many thanks!
According to the one other person I know who still messes with the Z2, this is the ESC you want. www.modellbau-regler.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=163&language=en
@@VermontScaleCustoms oh no! Sad to hear there’s not much of a following. Do you still have yours?
What makes this MN looks unique unlike other rc crawler they don't have a leafspring, somehow it gives this additional realistic response on its shocks with leaf spring*
Indeed, trucks that have leaf springs definitely look and drive much more like the real thing.
this thing is amazing
Thanks! Much appreciated.
can i do this with the plastic chassis?
I think so. I didn't install on the plastic chassis so I can't say for sure. The front would go on just fine but I'm not sure about the back. The metal chassis is set up for upgrades while the stock chassis has molded posts for the tops of the shocks. I think if you take the factory ball ends out and snap the metal ones onto the rear upper posts, you're all set. You may even need to use both the top and bottom plastic post now that I think about it more. Long story short: yes, take a look at it and see if they fit on the factory posts.
@VermontScaleCustoms ok thanks
Sweet
It was a fun rig.
Nice snowy footage Mark! We are still waiting for some snow here.. At 3:40 I was like "ouch that hurt..Ow wait, it didn't! "
It was just the right amount of dry snow. Yeah, that stick just came out of nowhere! That bumper took a good hit and just kept on going!
Did you waterproof it?
Hobbywing 1625 is waterproof and I upgraded the servo. All set!
Hey man I’m new to RC and I’ve got the c54-1 got some new wheels and tires and I ordered the res v3 for it, but I’d love to get a mod list from you and what all parts you’ve added
Solid choice. I built mine on a C24 chassis (same thing). The parts list is in the description. Wheels and tires are the most popular question. They're from an RGT 1/16 truck. Everything else is pretty much straight off the shelf for WPL upgrades. Single speed 370 on a metal gearbox, WPL all metal axles & links, driveshafts. The most flex for these comes from angle-mounting the shocks. Tilting them on the frame rail to get a little more articulation. Straight up and down really limits their motion. Most shock kits come with brackets for the frame rails. The links are pretty self explanatory. Just a bit of a pain to get dialed. I used a digital caliper to make sure they were all the same length. Helps tracking, steering, etc.
Are you using the stock powertrain?
I upgraded the description to include the motor, gearbox, and axles. Thanks for watching!
Real good stuff, man! Appreciate you document all this.
Did you have to do any modifications to get the new motor and gearbox to fit?
Hey man, I ordered the same shocks (but in a diff color) as you did. The tires I ordered are 66mm in diameter. Do I need to incorporate a sort of lift kit or something?
I can't wait for some powder in my area. Just makes the RCing that much more fun. Looks like you had a great run! thanks for sharing.
I hope you get some snow to play in! It's definitely a lot of fun. Thanks for watching!
Well done 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you! Perfect conditions for this thing.
Wow that’s Awsome lucky snow is perfect for this Just Awsome video!
Thanks! I needed this one, too. I really miss heading to the rock quarry down the road from my house and tearing it up when it snows!
Certainly gets ya into the spirit of the holidays. Looking forward to opening mine this yr!! Thxs!
Oh, nice! Congrats on the new xmas present! Be sure to look up online how to tune them for better performance! Thanks for watching!
No oil in the shocks?
12 Lb. truck with preload maxed out. 4 year old shocks and they haven't been rebuilt in years. Seals are long gone.
That stick came out of nowhere. Broke a stick the size of a Pencil. That hill climb, . Bob wire in the snow. AWESOME BUDDY :)
Thanks! This truck is a 12lb behemoth with a Holmes Hobbies 550 13T inside. It doesn't stop for much. It's nice to get to use some of that horse power!
@@VermontScaleCustoms What a Monster. Loved watching it GO and GO. Really cool build.
Awesome- can’t wait to get ours out in the snow too!
Hope you do! Good thing I got out and got a piece of it. It was gone two days later!
I see the ⅒ scale Bully2 but no way can afford it on my retirement budget. These 1/24 projects have been so much fun for the inner child that's resurfacing. Please advise kit name/info. Already built the Skymobile Beatle. Hooked!!
I did a payment plan for my Bully II when I got it a couple years ago. That helped take the sting away on the monthly payments. This is a fully custom rig made from a Furitek Scythe V2 chassis. All custom made/bent links, moforc electronics and flysky radio. Not much to it, really. Just swapped out to 1.8 wheels and just checking to see how it handles breakovers different than before.
@@VermontScaleCustoms thanks for that. I had to do the Beatle piece meal on a stock frame and links I had leftover. Maybe that'll have to be. I'll be in touch later👍
What is the tire size??
RC4WD Dirt Grabber 1.2 tires sitting on Hobby Plus CR18 1.2 wheels.
Hi, im new about rc's what did you do to be more playable in waters? Thank you
Waterproof ESC and that's it. I also don't drive fully underwater. No one in real life actually does on purpose. Anything over the hood means you're in trouble. I try to practice the same thing with RC cars.
Great looking rig!
Thanks! Had to be done once I saw it at Walmart.
Hello, Nice shots, very cool video, great cinema!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Hello! Thank you, Seven! Sometimes spontaneous work turns out decent products! Thanks for watching!😎🖖
The slo mo looks so good I try and make my fusion so that in real time…then I get punchy…. Great vid dude!
I'm always torn on whether to run at regular speed or slow things down for the small scales. I'll always enjoy watching those wheels roll over stuff in slow mo!
That Looks So GOod Crawling :)
Thanks! Yeah, I like doing video of this one. Looks good slowed down.
Man absolutely loving the indoor track is looking amazing! Love the inverted tire hang capture…it was on crash reel vid too! Lights def add to it too! Just Awsome looking rig!
I've been shooting wide angle these last couple of videos, too. Give the course more perspective and reveals how big it is. It covers 4'x6'+ and it's about 2' tall on both ends. I was thinking recently I'd like to change it up again. Winter is coming so I'll leave that for another day. Makes for good content! ;) Lights were a PITA. I did two separate tabs underneath the hood. Soup can lid pieces - all black to one - red to the other. They make contact with the magnets when closed so there's no wiring between the body and chassis. Pretty nice when it comes to working it.
Had the Patagonias on my 1:1 took them off to drop it some for work but they stare at me sometime begging to go back on went to some wild peaks which I def like too…if I ever do a build of it I’d have to get these…if I ever saw a good cat eyes Chevy 2500 4 door body I’d be starred o. It!
I've had two sets of Patagonias for about 4 years. I go in and out with liking them. I struggled with them on Vermont rock but they seem to stick right to this sandstone. Plus I vented the tires, too. And on soft foams, they grapple like the real thing. So much better now. I'd check on Etsy for one. I'm pretty sure I've seen crew cab Chevy trucks getting built on the scx24 platform. You could probably get one onto a Gladiator length setup. Might be enough room for the doors.
Very nice in those lights that’s cool I always end up just ditching them!
