  • Hey team this episode we are out in the friendliest towns where we people stop in the road to chat, and wave out to people they don't know.
We explore Hicks Bay, East Cape, and a pretty cool River.
Sophie also gets a massage post Surgery as there are no Physio's out here. Covered by ACC though.
Te Amiki health and wellness. She has a facebook page,
    #eastcoast #EastCape #fulltime

It's going to be awesome over summer with the rivers and swimming holes down south. A decent swim definitely counts as a shower.

Lots of interesting learning experiences for your children. Of course I have no idea about correspondence schooling but having things like the flooded river/roads - the old wharf - the long bridges and the forestry aspects...fall into all kind of subjects. Make learning interesting. At the same time the memories are on their hard drives etc...

Wondered if you got caught up in that latest lot of flooding. I can't remember if it was at Hicks Bay or Te Araroa, but there is a very large and very ancient pohutukawa tree. Of course us scouts were all over it. One of locals wandered up and was chatting to the leaders. He mentioned the tree was tape because in the old days after a battle, they would hNg the heads oof defeated enemies in the tree. You could hear scout's thudding to the ground all around the tree! History lesson eh!

Really enjoying your East cape videos so far! You'll like Tologa bay wharf, great history associated with that too. Great to see where you are choosing to stay and even information about the Four square, I'll remember that for when we travel there hopefully in the not too distant future 😀

East cape on New Zealand reminds me of the west coast of Vancouver Island BC, Canada.
