Well, you probably figured this out after seeing the whole episode but Tony never wanted Ralph to give Jackie Jr. a pass. Tony was just passive aggressively putting the decision on Ralph's shoulders to punish Ralph and make him the one to have deal with it emotionally. Everyone knew that Jackie Jr would have to be whacked, Tony just wanted to lay the responsibility on Ralph's shoulders. "More importantly it should happen in a TIMELY FASHION. But hey, you already know this! You're a captain!" Tony was getting pleasure out of putting Ralph in a tight spot. And Tony didn't want to be the one to have to give the order to kill his dead best friend's son, so he put it all on Ralph.
I caught it when I was editing but when I first watched it I was confused I didn’t think Tony would actually go through with whacking his best friend son, I mean technically he didn’t give the ok but subconsciously he did give the ok for it to happen. But thanks for the comment
@@DollarBoiEnt He's also punishing Ralphie for being such a jerk about becoming a captain. Handling the Jackie situation is one of the responsibilities of being a captain, Tony forces him to handle it himself. He wanted to be a captain, so this is one of his duties.
24:37 my father was kind of like this. I was never sent off to military school, but my dad was the hard ass who thought we needed toughing up and I would say something and he would get mad the whole “you keep it up, goddamnit!” With me, having to stand there in the middle of something it’s just all too familiar for me.
Great reaction. I think the conclusion you came to about the show is 100# correct. It's not a plot driven show where they set things up for a certain pay off. It's more like a slice of life kind of character study type show, a day in the life etc...once you realize that it's a lot easier to enjoy your time in the Sopranos world.
Thank you for watching bro, and that’s exactly how I view it now, it’s not about the destination it’s about the journey! And now that I see it that way it makes it so much better for me because I can enjoy it for what it is.
The storyline for this season was originally Livia testifying against Tony over the airline tickets that’s why the FBI was around a lot early on. This season felt a little less plot driven when I first watched and yes that continues but also everything connects/happens for a reason.
29:08 meadow isn’t stupid. She knows she doesn’t wanna say anything “in front of an outsider” she doesn’t want to break Omerta the code of silence if she says, yeah my father is in the mafia in front of some cousin who doesn’t know anything it breaks Omerta And it makes her family look bad damn meadows a savage!😂
I was little disappointed in this Finale, I thought it was lacking something like Season 1 & 2 Finales had which I enjoyed and it was just “Mid” to me & felt like it was missing something, it could be like you said there was NO antagonist to Tony really, it mostly focused on Meadow & AJ’s journey
Season 3 in the books, pull up next Tuesday for the next Soprano’s upload. I’ll try to have 2 episodes up.

That makes sense especially the way Tony was talking about chain of command I should have caught on to that.

My dad wasn’t around at least your dad was there to make sure you was on the right path and how to be a man 💯
So freaking hilarious talking about discipline and then to pop open a window to smoke.
