Moza is killing it. I wish they were around when I bought in 4 years ago. Moza just needs console support and they would overtake Fanatec. That’s the only reason I am keeping Fanatec so I can play on PS5 as well as PC or Xbox.

Thank you for the share sir. I bought me an Alpha Mini and still loving it to this day. But I can't remember it being compared to the Fanatec back in the day. It has enough power for me at 70 years old. And it only cost me 517.00 US dollars plus shipping a few months ago.

I’ve been using a Mini for 6 weeks and I’m loving it. I was using a Moza R9 for 9 months. The R9 was okay, but Simagic’s products seem to be a bit higher in quality. The Mini is very smooth and I really don’t feel very much clogging, if any. Only time will tell if it’s built well enough to last me a few years until I can upgrade to a Simucube or other high-end wheel base.

I tell all of you one thing people. I bought a CSL DD and was disappointed. Not because it is a bad product but how much I had been taken in by the hype of DD over good belt or gear driven wheels. Of course it is better than my old G29 but I'm sorry in terms of value for money versus performance ... nope, no way. I am just hear to say all these people have a vested interest and are trying to sell you something.
    Be aware of that.

I think it is often the case when you go into high end Equipment that value money is not the best.
I also agree when i „upgraded“ from my beltdriven CSW 2.5 to the Csl DD i could not feel a big improvement, but fairly spoken the CSL DD is not more expensive than the 2.5 was, so it is Kind of okay. But yeah DD also is a little bit overhyped, but make sense overall, more Power and less mechanical components.

2 questions. First you talk about the software give you a better performance in r12 , that will pass to the r9/r5 ? Or the issues tht you mention gonna still for someone that will get them now. In terms of problems that you say the r12 have, is due to the fact they send material from A to B to C until arrive to you? Or the report is from anyone that have adquire for personal use ? Anyway great review!

I will definitely be picking up the Moza R12 and upgrade my simrig for next years Assetto Corsa 2 release! Running a playseat with a T500RS + TH8A, its done me good throughout the years but its time to step up. Will go for a full simrig frame and the R12, need some good pedals and a better shifter as well. Planning quite the upgrade :) VR would be the cherry on top.

Moza is crushing it right now with their products and pricing but their logistics and transparency with customers needs a lot of improvement. I ordered my R12 and KS wheel almost 3 weeks ago and the order is still in the processing stage. Apparently it's due to them being out of stock according to other unhappy customers in their discord who have spoken with their customer support but the out of stock info was not disclosed on the their site when ordering it. It allows you to order $850 worth of gear and pay another $100 in shipping and says will process within 20 business days. That could mean 1 day or 20 days or somewhere in between but only to find out it won't be until the 1st week of August because of stock issues. Also paying $100 for domestic shipping is a bit ridiculous when somehow their retailers who are also domestic are able to offer free shipping. Had they had something on their site that says "currently out of stock, expected restock 1st week of August" I would have just ordered from a retailer, saved $100 on shipping, and got it in the same amount of time. A little sketchy on their end and for as much as myself and others are spending with them I would expect the customer service/transparency to be a bit better, but either way I'm definitely excited to test out the new gear. Hope this helps if anyone is thinking about ordering direct from them.

I bought the CSL DD bundle with basic wheel and pedal for 399 and got a 8nm power supply for $35. Still the best entry level deal imo and it's pretty much all I need at the moment. @zaraza. ปีที่แล้ว +1

Agree, moza r12 base itself is over 60% more expensive than the whole CSL DD bundle and if we add on top of that their insane shipping prices (over 80 euro in the EU) it becomes even more. Imo fanatec still wins in terms of value by huge margin.

For those of you using HGP shifter for manual shifts, you might have noticed plugging the shifter to the base doesn't quite work, as the software detects the shifter's presence but not the shifts themselves, so I got in contact with support over discord, they are aware of it and a firmware uodate that fixes this is on the way and should be released anyday, until then you can plug it to your pc directly via usb
This is specific to the r12 and should not happen in other bases so if it happens to you and it's not an r12 I'd suggest contact support

What are your thoughts in comparison to the Logitech PRO Wheel? Because of the region I live at, the only official brand that sells in my country is Logitech. Thrustmaster and Fanatec don't offer me a direct way to buy their products. With Moza I have the opportunity to have my order shipped to my country, only that I would have to take care of taxes and customs fees.
Where I live the Logitech wheel is priced at 1273 EUR (final price, free national shipping and I have 2 years warranty). The Moza R12 + KS wheel are 780 EUR.
My goal is to spend max around the 1300 EUR pricepoint for a wheel/base combo
I wouldn't bother to order a Fanatec wheel because:
1- they are not the cheapest in the market, which gives more weight to the points below
2- I would have to buy in another country then import the wheel to my country
3- I want to avoid risking having a faulty product and then having to deal with a big mess to return the product and get a refund or a replacement
Moza has popped into my radar because of:
1- shipping to my country is possible directly from the store
2- the price is very good and even after importing fees it is potentially cheaper than the logitech
3- warranty service is possible although I would have to ship it back
    4- Moza's ecosistem
And the advantages of the Logitech wheel that apply to my case are:
1- I can buy it nationally, so no breaking my head around taxes/how to get it here
2- warranty support is my most straight forward option, I send it back to Logi and they take care of it
3- after doing some digging I came to the conclusion that comparing it to a Fanatec setup it was pretty much at the same price point but without all of the hassles of importing
I can't compare the experience between both wheels though. If I end up finding the way to get the Moza for cheaper then maybe I would take that option. But if I found them for the same price I'm thinking about getting the Logitech.
I also need to take into account how reliable Mozas tend to be to know if I'll be likely to need warranty. If that were to be the case then I think it would be cheaper to have the Logitech considering the difference of price for returning them.

    • @Bazzookie
      @Bazzookie ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yes. More torque isn’t simply about making the wheel heavier, it’s about ffb headroom, plus bigger, more powerful, motors are usually quicker in their response and such. Lots of people think you just max out your ffb settings and call it a day and then think even like 4-5 nm is enough, but in reality you’re clipping the ffb. When you actually turn down your settings so that you can feel all of the details, even under load in a corner, the lower the nm, the more “toy-like” it feels.

Is it neccessary to bash Fanatec all the time. They are still the biggest player in high end sim racing area. Sure they are loosing big parts of the market to really good companies like Moza. But at the end the only thing which is a big improvement compared to Fanatec is the QR.
I guess the main reason why fanatec was not improving the QR is because of their eco system (the QR exists 10 years). And they already announced that there will be a new QR2. And come on the QR of Fanatec is not perfect, but it is still a quality product. Fairly spoken, if i would not have any equipment right now i would probably go with moza too, but i am sure Fanatec will close the gaps to Moza really quick.

That's the standard in this fast moving tech age (not even fast moving because of big leaps in tech, just fast moving in constantly releasing new stuff). The moment something new and slightly better comes along, people act as if the gear they used for years instantly became obsolete, bad and unusable. Is this r12 better than similarly priced fanatec gear. Probably. Does that make the fanatec gear any less usable or even enjoyable? I doubt it. And don't forget the console compatibility (one set needed for pc and both consoles) and the big ecosystem, with many wheels to choose from. It's great that companies like Moza are coming up and doing well with great products, but I don't get that we have to put down others while praising them. It's the same everywhere. You can't like both xbox and PlayStation , you can't like both canon and nikon camera's and so on and so on. The title of this video alone almost made me not want to click it.
Just be glad there's so much choice, pick what you like and be happy. No need for that other negativity!

With quality product i mean it is Full Metal QR on a toy, it is sturdy and the tolerances are not perfect but acceptable, thats why people bought several wheels for 10 years and not many complained the QR.
And again i have no problem people saying moza or others are better than Fanatec. The thing that bothers me is that the say fanatec is low quality and it just isnt.
