  • @whoisant2

    I’ve gone from stick to all button controllers, but I told myself whenever this product comes out, I’m going back to stick. Only reason why is due to some hands on experience with the hitbox crossup controller. I absolutely loved the extra buttons, especially for super fast inputs for sf6 supers. The one thing that I’m gonna be concerned about is how stiff or loose the extra button is gonna be, because I wouldn’t want my muscle memory messed up for that button moving throughout my gameplay. Also, I won’t have access to fighting boards for a minute, so I’ll have to modify my current controller, in order to have this extra utilization. But still super excited for the product.

    • @HitBoxArcade

      We hope the COMBO Extension works out for you, and glad that the Cross|Up inspired your thoughts on it.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      How loose it is depends a lot on your enclosure. These both fit well and the button could be turned with some force, but would stay lined up where you left it. Even if you case had slightly larger holes and the extension button was a bit loose, there are still some things you can do to ensure it doesn't move when you get it where you want. Anyway, I hope it works well for you when you get one and thanks for watching!

    Really enjoy this sort of content. Would love a tutorial on how to add additional custom buttons to Brook boards. Like the L3 R3 buttons etc.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the nice comment and for engaging. The good news is that you probably won't need a video. Basically, you can buy an L3/R3/Touchpad harness from about any major arcade stick supplier. Then, you can jack it in where you see me do it in this video. Then, you can hook up those buttons. Most use them on the side as aux functions for training room options, but you can put them on the face/top of your controller like you see here. Then, in game, change the R3 to whatever function you prefer. Hope that helps! focusattack.com/4-pin-l3-r3-touchpad-button-harness-for-brook-universal-fighting-board/

      I didn't have any issue with it spinning in either the old Hit Box nor the custom. It was pretty snug and took some effort to twist around into position. However, I saw a user had reported that it would spin in their etokki Omni, but using blue sticky tack to wedge underneath the button, stopped it. I think they might plan on having something in the kit to help with that in the future, but my experience was fine and I was 2 for 2. Thanks for watching, dude!

    • @HitBoxArcade
      @HitBoxArcade 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Button-hole sizes across arcade controllers have a much larger range than we previously thought when designing our buttons.
      Some cases the buttons will be very snug, others will be loose.
      Based on this newer information and feedback from current users, we are currently working on a 'snap-in' item that will keep the buttons snug. Still in early development, but it should allow us to fit more controllers comfortably.

      Well, when it's all in the button, a user can put it in non-Hit Box enclosures. Then, the market opens up to anyone building customs. And you can twist it to angle the placement of the extra function to go beyond a predrilled layout orientation. There are strengths to the idea you propose.
      The reason we took the route we did is for two main reasons:
      1 - We wanted to provide a product that would be used by all arcade controller users, including Hit Box customers up to this point.
      2 - We wanted to provide an option that would be fairly cheap and easy for most people to do.

      CPT has some of the stricter rules regarding buttons/inputs, and it would still be allowable under most circumstances there. • @Trinioutsider34
      @Trinioutsider34 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HushMySweet1 I humbly disagree, I remember when I first seen these buttons on Twitter. A lot of people weren't happy with it, Hitbox already has an advantage over Arcade Stick users like myself and Controller users already. This just make's things easier again for Hitbox users.
      There's already a faster Shoryuken input on Hitbox along with a Flash Kick input. With Tekken 8 there's already faster wave dashing and EWGF inputs. This button is unnecessary.

    • @HushMySweet1

      @@Trinioutsider34 Oh it may be unnecessary, I was just pointing out that even in the strictest tourneys like the CPT events, that this button would be allowable under their current ruleset (provided the user isn't duplicating an existing face button since there is a rule on not having multiple buttons for the same exact input). So I'm not arguing one way or the other, just saying that as it sits, a user could currently install and bring to Evo or any other major without issue. That said, I think I understand your reluctance. Nothing would stop a user from installing it in a joystick build either, but it would cool to see some lever tech to help wrestle away a bit of the advantage from all-button controllers. Thanks for weighing in!
