Thanks for the first look at the Hitbox Ultra. I've been drooling over these since getting back into fighting games fairly recently, but the price is just so much! I guess I'll have to wait for a sale (and wife approval) before I end up getting one.
Awesome review ! would you mind explaining how to customize the key caps. im a first time hitbox user. also do you think the ultra optimizers are better then the ones that come installed?
I prefer the ultra optimizer myself however, I think that really all come down to feel. As for the key caps, in the video when I took apart the button, I didn't show it off but that center key part of the button has a little indent near the top u can put ur finger nail in to pop it off. Just be careful cause they have a tendency to fly off. I also think the hitbox official channel as a video about their buttons and how to customize them.
@ oh so it doesn't effect performance necessarily. its just a preference thing. because I thought it would make getting 1 Frame inputs more consistent. and alright thanks ill check out there channel for that video
They can be. The different dividers can make them very VERY sensitive. Like just lay your finger on them sensitive. However you can change what setting they are on based on what u like
thanks for the review, im considering getting one. just had a question, i know you did the sound test but i couldnt tell how loud it actually is since the mic was right on the buttons. Would you say its quieter than the og hitbox?
Definitely. Especially with the spacers since they are like a rubber or silicon plastic it heavily dampens the noise. That's not to say they are totally silent but they are pretty quiet.
I'm not vibing with a stick I've gotta have a special cable to use. Plus I don't respect hitbox trying to lock smaller shops out of making leverless controllers
The haute42 and sticks like it (mpress, mpress nano, snackbox) usually have a more clicky, snappy feel to them. The hitbox buttons have much more of an arcade thocky feel. I think the best way to describe them would be as a more snappy sanwa button. However, the big advantage to the hitbox button is u can actually change the feel of them with the little divider things I show off in the video. So each setting gives it a different throw, sound, and feel
Thank you so much for your thoughts!
We're happy you like the ULTRA. 😊

Another option could be just to get the buttons if that's the main thing ur interested in. If it's everything else then ya you'll have to wait.
rocking those pants my friend
Appreciate the love!
I like it, but not a usb Type C connection, just the cable that they sell

I prefer the Victrix Pro KO
Fair! For me it was too light. But it's def even more portable.
Are the new buttons have faster travel time than other buttons making inputs faster?
They can be. The different dividers can make them very VERY sensitive. Like just lay your finger on them sensitive. However you can change what setting they are on based on what u like
Love the thumbnail

Excelente 👍
How is it compared to the haute42 in terms of button feeling ? (If you have already tried haute42 T16)
