I bought the M12+ and I thinks it’s great, I also bought a kitsune to try them both out. They are both great, but I returned the Kitsune because the Haute is just a better deal all around and it’s feels a tiny bit more premium then the Kitsune so it was a no brainer between the two.
Nice! Yeah, I didn't NOT like the Kitsune, either. It just seemed to not have enough going for it to justify the price. Thank you for watching and for weighing in.
@@HushMySweet1 I think the Kitsune would be a better proposition at like $199, at $299 it just doesn’t compete with M+ Haute42 controllers. Great video should help a lot of people looking at these.
While I do really enjoy my T16 and had great fun doing custom art for it, I'll be waiting for Mavercade to restock those Keebbrawler rev 2s. Those chunky pill buttons look awesome!👌🏻
On the topic of Haute42, I just got my R16 the other day (the one with button rims), and I'm absolutely loving it! The quality feels way higher than its price would suggest, especially given how thin it is. Adjusting to leverless is gonna take a while, especially rewiring my brain to jump with my thumb. And attempting 720s on this thing makes me want to cry (I haven't gotten a single one yet lol). But I'm having alot of fun learning, and I don't feel like it's a downgrade from my old trusty TE stick, which I was afraid of. Unless it's start acting wonky over time, add me to the list of people shilling Haute42 controllers now lol
Yeah, the R16 looks interesting (very similar to the DuelPad). I like the idea of the left pinky function since so many layouts don't utilize it. But yeah! Good luck in the quest getting to proficiency with leverless. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, it just allows for more customization flexibility like you say. A user could map throws or a dash (depending on game), or a Drive Impact or Drive Parry to a more convenient location, or even for quicker training room features if you constantly are recording/resetting scenarios. Just allows for more customization so a user can dial in their preferred preferences.
I agree (mostly). When it's clean, it's CLEAN. When it's not clean, all the appeal goes out the window. (I've got fiber cloths for wipedowns all over my basement.) Thanks for watching, dude!
Yes, there's a standard 12 button model. It's the same price as the one here just a more traditional layout. Search up "M12 Plus" on Aliexpress or wherever. Thanks for watching.
Licensing controllers for official use on PS5 must be stupid expensive if this thing is basically a Razer Kitsune at half the price. Are those crystal microswitches compatible with other buttons like Crown SDB 202s and OBS-MX? Those looks fire.
They are low profile V2 switches, so wouldn't be compatible with Crowns and such, but are compatible with anything that supports those low profile V2 footprints (so a decent number of all-button controllers). And they are not overly expensive if you want to grab a set of 20 just to try. Good luck and thank you for watching! www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806879418255.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt
I do prefer the feel/sound of the buttons on my M16 though. The button caps on the M16 plus are thin and the well for each button is not as deep as so the clicks are not as satisfying. I tried switching out my transparent caps from the M16 but because the well is not as deep and plastic on the bottom so you don't get that satisfying smack on the buttons. 😢 Still a great device though. I use the M16 Plus on my main rig and the Plus on the laptop or when traveling
Okay, I get why everyone wants their controllers to be slim and stuff, but I don't go to locals or travel to tournaments. I just play online at home, so I want a big and chunky leverless. Is there any options aside from ordering custom from AFS?
This one is pretty solid for home play since it has a bigger/medium footprint compared to Micros/Flatboxes. Other ones to look at are the Slab MX. It is thicker/beefier and supports full-size switches. And then Mavercade has KeebBrawlers which are on the larger side (and you can get them in metal for added weight). I would get some foam backing for any of those options. Good luck in the hunt!
TH-cam ate my first reply. Let me try to type it again. I would say that your answer is "not necessarily." Both are extremely comparable. I actually prefer acrylic over metal because I like the art element plus my hands run cold, so acrylic doesn't rob as much heat as the metal (it all evens out after a couple of games, but yeah). So I would tell you to just go with your gut and pick which one appeals more to your own sensibilities. Very comparable devices all things considered though. Thank you for watching!
I got a g16 but the buttons aren’t sliceable like this I’m thinking about just the regular m16 the g16 is small because I play with it in my lap so the m16 should cover all the minor issues I have
Not at this time. That's sort of the backdrop for this channel and a nod to the synth covers from in the earlier days of the youtube journey. Maybe I'll do pads/stickers or something of it in the future if/when this channel gets a bit bigger. Thank you for watching, however!
That's a lot of buttons for a first time user, but that doesn't mean anything if you're committed to learning it. I'd say any of the Haute42 ones are such a good value, that I'd recommend just getting the one that speaks to you. If that's the R16, then there you have it! Thanks for watching!
Basically, yes. Otherwise it will be disconnected after 8 minutes. (There is another way where you can upload the required verification files, but that's not a good option for most people; I'd just invest in the dongle)
I think they are basing iterations off the original Hit Box layout where they took inspiration from a keyboard and had the jump function close enough for both thumbs to utilize. But it is always refreshing to see more customized split layouts when they get posted. Thanks for watching and for your support!
I think part of the reason is a small number of people will press the up button with either of their thumbs (maybe depending on the move) or they'll use their right thumb entirely, so if you space it out for better ergonomics they'll freak out that it's unusuable. Also regular arcade sticks tended to not have a ton of spacing either from what I've seen. I don't think hand size is actually a big part of this, my hands are pretty average or maybe a tad small and I'd love things to be spaced out more. Shoulder width apart is usually what people aim for in the split keyboard community. Frame1 (for Smash) has really good spacing and when you put HayBox into FGC mode it turns the c-stick up button into a second up so you can still hit it with either thumb if you're into that. Though it doesn't have a good layout on GP2040-CE out of the box (I would recommend not even flashing it without physical microcontroller access as the BOOTSEL shortcut button changes too), it's really made to run HayBox, so you don't get the same featureset as controllers running GP2040-CE. edit: To give some addition info on the Frame1, my Open-Frame1 build with 3D-printed case (not sure if the mass-produced cases differ slightly) has a width of 14", and the distance between the right side of the right movement button and the left side of the lower left action button is about 5.5".
The video I was waiting for! Thanks Hush!
Awesome! Hope it helped! Thanks for watching/commenting as always, dude!
I bought one for my buddy a premium feeling lever less compared to the kitsune at about 1/3 the price.
Yeah, totally agree. It definitely punches above its weight in terms of value. Thanks for watching/commenting!

I think the kitsune being a strictly ps5 affair works heavily against it since versatility is important if you're going to different locals

I have the Kitsune and the M16+ and let me tell you: The M16+ is better by far! It's half the price and has way more functionality.
Super good value.
Decided to go for this since Aliexpress was having big discounts. Basically got the price down from 130€ to 100€.
Nice! Hard to pass up a solid deal! I hope it serves you well!
Great vid btw, I’m coming from the smaller model do you recommend the plus or the regular
I like the bigger one over the smaller. Just more stable in the lap and my hands sit better on it.
What’s the difference between this one and the M Ultra?
My only question is why people have like extra buttons? To map like throws or?
Yeah, it just allows for more customization flexibility like you say. is there a same size but with "standard" buttons? no extra up or extra near the true jump button?
Yes, there's a standard 12 button model. It's the same price as the one here just a more traditional layout. Search up "M12 Plus" on Aliexpress or wherever. Thanks for watching.

@@HushMySweet1 Thanks for all information!
The Kitsune is expensive for two reasons. The Playstation licensing and Razer tax. Everything they make is stupidly overpriced.
Do you prefer the size of the M16+ compared to the M16?
The M16 Plus has a better size imo.
Mine will be here tomorrow from The Zon for $79. My old pxn is giving out. Too many wavu, EWGF, and kbd
Nice! Hope it serves you well!

I haven't tried that one firsthand to confirm one way or another. This was the same spacing/layout as the T16, however.

If you install an appropriate dongle, you can get it to work on PS5, but out of the box it won't immediately work.
