Great review. I should hopefully be ordering one soon. Mine will not have the adaptive dampers but will have the 18's do you think the ride will be too harsh or just right?
Queries regarding suspension is a main area of contention for a lot of customers however with the 18” wheels this will allow for a softer ride when compared to the 19” set. To avoid any disappointment I would recommend driving a vehicle with the 18” wheels and without the adaptive dampers to gain a real life experience with the vehicle configuration before proceeding. #theultimatedrivingmachine

I could get used to the overlarge front grille. But five door only I'm struggling with.
Del it has been the same for other hot hatches like the Type R and RS3. The numbers must tell the manufacturers its not worth it any more.
I don’t think anyone wants 3 door anymore . That’s why all ford, vw, Audi etc have dropped them in this size of car
These seats look identical in shape and proportion to the seats in the G29 BMW Z4. Wow. Quite some cross-platform parts bin BMW has going.
And that's the point, m140i in the wet or cold weather 'live to fight another day'

Still. It’s a shame what they made out of the M140. Perhaps it’s a good daily. But it’s not that playful daily and “special” like it used to be. No RWD = no fun anymore. The M135/M140 was such a nice special thing. No it’s all the same like the Audi S3, Golf R, A 35/45 AMG, ...
BMW just needed a every day/sports car they will sell plenty of. It's not an enthusiast car. But you can still buy an older m140 or 240i used or demo. And in a couple years they should be alot cheaper. Or they might maintain there value pretty well/since they are real wheel straight 6s, which are no more for the lineup. I don't now anymore.
not a ZF gearbox???....arghhhh
Being FWD biased they had to fit the gearbox from the MINI.
They’ve ruined what was a great car just like Porsche with the 4 cylinder cayman gts that sold so well they’ve gone back to 6 for 2020......BMW take note !
Looks cheap, has a 4 cylinder engine, poorer gearbox than the old generation sounds awful. BMW have lost their unique selling point for the m135/m140i! I'm in the market for one and will be purchasing the older generation rather than this (I've driven both)

yes 4-cylinder engine and 4-wheel drive does not kick my mind but this car looks very quality build in all ways. The seats are incredible for a 1-series. Looking forward for BMW-haters to come out of their caves within the next 48 hours.
