I started skating the beginning of this year because watching my bf skate always looked fun. I was first interested in the sport when I was around 9 yrs old but my mom was too over protective of me to let me do it. So when my bf offered to teach me I was so stoked. I loved how it challenged me and as months passed it started to become a passion. However recently I've become insecure cuz the guys can be intimidating. My bf told me not to pay attention to them but it was made clear I wasn't really welcomed so I stopped skating for several weeks. I sort of lost that feeling I had for skating because I felt I wouldn't be able to amount to the same level as the guys. However after hearing your outro I realized I lost that feeling towards skating because I let my insecurities get the best of me. More than anything I want to get past my fear and just shred the pool. Thank you John for the motivation, keep posting awesome videos they really do help! 👊
Thats the Problem i m scared to go to the Skatepark cause there only 2others that skate the rest only scooters and i don t know anyone there only my brother
Put earphones and ignore everyone. Skating is about you and having fun. It doesn't matter if you're as good as anyone else. You dont have to be. And anyone who thinks just because they're better than someone else at skating makes them superior has their head so far up their ass they can't remember they were at the same level you are at one point. Everyone starts at the same point. You dont step on a skateboard and immediately become Shane O'Neil. TL:DR fuck people, have fun.
I remember when i first started skating at arond 8. Two brothers at the skatepark always wanted to bully me, but I kept coming every single day anyways even tho I didnt know what to do about it. (They bullied me because I was small and my board was tiny). Luckily the older skaters noticed me being sad and asked what was up. I told them what had been going on and they told me not to worry anymore. Since that day I've never seen those two brothers at the skatepark. (They didn't even skate anyways). My point is; Don't be afraid of talking to older skaters even tho' you're younger/beginner. I was afraid every single day for so long!
Lol people standing in front of the box at my park is an issue, well it was... I had my 10yo roll down the ramp toward the box and kick his board away hard like he fell.... Caught an idiot in the ankle... Problem solved.
I'm so happy that your relationship exists. Even tho I just got out of one, you guys look so happy and cute. It makes me happy. I got so giddy were at the airport with Sara in your insta story.
John I've seen you skating around all the time in LA and I get way to nervous to come say hi, I met Sara at VidCon a couple months ago and she was super sweet and she told me not to be scared to say what's up lol, so if I ever see you again I'll say hi, keep up the dope ass vlogs!
Pendejo Amigö Yeah but what if a guy is skating the ramp and there's a skater up there who is going to drop in but doesn't even bother to drop in? It doesn't make sense, so if the person is going to drop in, then drop in. Otherwise, just wait your turn. 👍
As a Canadian I have to note that Donovan Bailey was the men's 100m champion for Canada and the fastest man in the world for a while :) spreading the knowledge! Love the channel and love you John boy
John I freaking love your videos. It honestly seems to me that you spend more time on your videos than any other TH-camr. You are my favorite person to watch. You are my inspiration to make videos. If I could turn out like one person, it would be you. Thank you for being such an amazing influence on the skateboarding culture!
everyone says youre too enthusiastic and annoying but honestly i love that, it makes me happy. also they complain abt how little u skate in a video but i dont even notice it your non skating parts of the video are just as good as your skating parts. keep being sick dude! ... also whats your outro song it randomly pops up in my head sometimes
Yo John, just want to thank you for your words of wisdom. I'm not a very confident guy, and I've been on the fence about picking up skating again for awhile. This video was so inspiring it helped shred through my doubt and follow my dreams. Just picked up my first board in 20+ years today and I'm having a blast (although I'm super outta shape).
Way to help me through my day John, I always enjoy watching your videos and they have helped me to take a step back and realize what has happened instead of getting angry. Best of luck!!!!!
+johnhill You nailed that outro. Love for skateboarding must welcome every opportunity to share this beautiful sport. One of my favorite things about skateboarding is sharing and watching others experience the pure joy that it brings. I am a constant advocate of the sport and I love the influence you are fostering around the culture. Bonus Round: Suggested video topic to cover one of these weekdays: The infinite lessons of why skateboarding teaches you to progress daily. (Directed towards parents so they see the sport in a positive spotlight that they should get their kids into. A reference point when a mom asks why little Timmy should skateboard rather than play lax. The argument that chess makes you smarter is not as strong as the thesis that skateboarding makes you better at life allowing you to KEEP KILLIN' IT)
John! The extra polish you've got going on by only uploading on weekdays really shows! I'm digging the editing in your new work. Looks like you've learned to Progress Daily! (The skating is - of course - awesome as always. So clean. Bravo, my friend. Bravo.)
I haven't watched a John Hill video in quite some time but the title intrigued me so I clicked. I must say his film making has improved a lot! This video was a very nice watch.
Good vibes at the end of this video!!(: I'm glad you put that in. First vid I have seen of yours and I dig the vibes immediately. Chase those dreams hard man!!(:
I love the new focus on aesthetics. The montage bits are super nice in this new season! I also really like your point in the outro and I think it goes both ways. If you either don't like the way something is portrayed and don't wanna do it or if you really like how one person portrays something and think you could never be unique or as good as them and then don't wanna do it. Just follow your passions and be true to yourself. Trust you. Anyway, nice videos dude! ✌️
Fake filming and the board on the quarters are debatable and okay to do if a) it's your homie and you're just messing with him and he's okay with it for laughs when it's not a hard trick he's trying b) if other people aren't gonna use the quarter that you're gonna drop in on right before your turn then go ahead and leave it set up, unless there is someone who might end up barging every obstacle in the park.
If I have the park to my self I'll sometimes just have my board ready to drop in while I change song or something but not if if people are clearly using it
John, I just have to say that the vlog season and episode graphic you do is super freaking dope! Its awesome to see you progress daily (pun I n t e n d e d) and grow as a youtuber!
John im loving the vids there're getting a lot better hope ur loving making them cuz i tried making u tube vids and they are really hard so i respect what u do keep skateing much love🤙
Another major rule that applies to any sport or skill... Don't EVER make fun of anyone, pick on anyone, or joke about their skill level. Even if _you_ think it's all in good fun. A simple joke can entirely ruin an activity for some people, they might just quit and never try again because you made a joke. If you're a jokester or have a tendency to blurt out insults... just practice keeping your fucking mouth shut. Don't point at people, don't say how easy the trick is and how fast you learned it or landed it first try, and try your best not to laugh. You have no right to tell someone what is fun, how fast to learn, or if they are good enough. If you see a chubby kid on a scooter failing to tail whip for an hour, don't point and laugh. He's trying. He already knows he's fat, he already knows people thinks scooters are lame, and he already knows how badly he's doing. He doesn't need to hear it from some asshole who doesn't even know him. Be encouraging, if you know how to do it, offer some advice in a friendly way if he seems receptive.. ask first, and be positive NOT NEGATIVE. " Good - "Hey, that can be tricky and you're doing pretty good. Would you like a few tips?." Or "Hi. You're doing better, but I noticed you're having some trouble with that, can I help you out?" Bad - "You aren't doing that right... let me show you!" Or "Dude, that's so easy! I learned it in two tries... just do it like this." Those aren't helpful, and you're just going to make them feel bad. Emphasize their dedication, commitment, and courage, and offer a hand up.. don't stomp them down. Try to remember, everyone starts somewhere and everyone is different. Some people might laugh at me a the climbing gym for being weak and skinny I can't breathe well... if they bothered to ask, they'd learn that I have cancer and only one lung. I have nerve damage so I essentially climb with only one arm and very little core strength. But I enjoy climbing and I try my hardest. You never know someone's situation, you don't know their story, and you shouldn't assume. No matter the activity (Skateboarding, BMX, Scootering, Climbing, Swimming, Shooting, Magic Tricks, Motorcycles, Video Games... etc.) We all have something we enjoy, a community. We all want that community to grow and want to share it and have it understood. Not all skateboarders are vandals and punks, not all gun enthusiasts are rednecks or maniacs, not all gamers are fat nerds in basements. So encourage newcomers, be welcoming and try to help them learn. If you aren't the teaching or encouraging type... then just keep your damn mouth shut, and make fun of your close friends who can take your shit and give it right back. Always remember that each person represents their group, every skateboarder being an asshole is building a stereotype and making the rest look bad. So remember what mommy said, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. I know, it sounds cheesy but making fun can easily be taken as bullying and make people quit. Be nice. Have fun, and never judge others for how they choose to have theirs.
Hey John. Long-time fan here. Please wear a helmet when skating x Pretty please. Join me, Mike Vallely and others. Ta. #wearthehelmet LOVE your enthusiasm. It's infectious 😊
i get this sentiment but ill wear a helmet when cheerleaders do, when ballerinas do, when gymnasts do..... haha i dunno. maybe I'm trolling but holy moly i hate wearing a helmet. especially when its 110 degrees outside and youre skating a dang manual pad. def not mad at people wanting to wear them though. def is a good idea.
I think they are trying to keep that side of the relationship personal. I think if they started showing lots of affection they would feel obligated to act a certain way, idk. I guess it's hard to draw the line of how much you want to share in a vlog.
5:41 once I was skating over a garbage bin and these scooter kids moved it off to the side I put it back and then the kid looks me in the eyes and kicks it into the bowl so now there's garbage all over and then runs off
I want to watch "10 things you should never do at skateparks" not your shitty vlog. Can you make them separately so that we don't have to skip through the video trying to find what we came to watch? Thanks.
And yet you feel the need to comment. He does vlogs. If you don't like that, don't watch it. I'm pretty sure people are comfortable with the vlogs after the original video topic. There is literally no need to spread negativity ignorantly as you do.
12:23 This advice is exactly what I needed to hear right now. Thanks for being so thoughtful to your fans and to new and upcoming skateboarders. These are the kinds of thoughts that beginners need to hear, especially. Stay sick (but really healthy)!! Salutations to Sara as well!!! The video where you taught her 5 new tricks was golden and honey, yo!!! :)
They really have something in common.. they love vlogging, they follow casey neistat,.. i mean it all started with the same interest that make them go together
She seems way more into him then he is into her. He acts a little awkward when she tries to be touchy feely. But that's what I/we see from a 10 minute video. Who really knows besides themselves and those closest to them. Let em be.
Lorri Cuizon wtf you mean "true follower."? Nobody wants to be a fucking follower idiot there's actually a life outside of others you know. You don't even hang with the fucking guy you just watch him you fucking weirdo. There's way too many people like you.
SOFT COUGH! haha I've been meaning to say thanks for introducing me to soft cough a few months back in a VLOG. Been jamming them ever since. This morning actually. Thanks John
"I was skating that"
**humping barrel**
"Well I'm skating it now"

U ever have that good ass skate from morning to night and alternate skate parks
I skate like to skate at night. It feels wierd at first, but you get used to it.
..... I don't have skateboard :c
smolus0512 bro forealll
smolus0512 fun until you get robbed
Empty skateparks are the best 🤩 but where I’m from no one actually skates so the SKATEparks are full of bikes, scooters, chavs and drug dealers 🙂
Aka England
Or Scotland
Lol
Let me guess you live in eastern Ireland like me and that 1 other skater
Sid aka Saudi Arabia

Daniel Min I hope so cause they need to be tought a lesson and that’s not cool to bully someone.

RiskyRiders lord and savior.
RiskyRiders ii
RiskyRiders thx

People skating flatground in front of obstacles at my local park is the biggest problem by far and nobody tries to stop it
Dalton Walker just skate as if they are not there and after many collisions they will move and learn
Is your local park called fremont skatepark? 😂😂😂
Lol people standing in front of the box at my park is an issue, well it was... I had my 10yo roll down the ramp toward the box and kick his board away hard like he fell.... Caught an idiot in the ankle... Problem solved.
8:21 when you trip in front of your crush
😂
I'm so happy that your relationship exists. Even tho I just got out of one, you guys look so happy and cute. It makes me happy. I got so giddy were at the airport with Sara in your insta story.
i literally can’t immediately drop in, that ish is scary
John I've seen you skating around all the time in LA and I get way to nervous to come say hi, I met Sara at VidCon a couple months ago and she was super sweet and she told me not to be scared to say what's up lol, so if I ever see you again I'll say hi, keep up the dope ass vlogs!

*Scooter kids wouldn’t understand*
I always get so excited and hyped to go out and so something when he says "I love you so much, progress daily and keep killing it"
I ate shit and ended up hurting my back for a week because someone waxed the hell out of a ledge.
Same.. only the kid waxed the fucking floor
@@mousediscord2803 💀💀💀
That’s why I wax my board
Literally had a kid come in the skatepark I work at yesterday and wax every single motherfudging rail in there smh
mocking people with helmets
I finally gave in and got one and it helped me a lot
With confidence at least
helmet John Hill is probably my favorite thing ever 😂😂😂
When you were on the garbage can i cried laughing 😂
I felt a bit disappointed at number 9 because when you learn to drop in it takes a long time to learn and gather confidence to do it
Pendejo Amigö Yeah but what if a guy is skating the ramp and there's a skater up there who is going to drop in but doesn't even bother to drop in? It doesn't make sense, so if the person is going to drop in, then drop in. Otherwise, just wait your turn. 👍
venom pizza yeah I get your point but I still think he was ignorant of the fact that not every skater is going to be able to drop on first try
Pendejo Amigö True true, I agree! 👊
Pendejo Amigö when I first dropped in I just did it while no one Was there
ProAngler X yeah but when you live in a place like Australia when the skateparks are packed with scooters it's a bit difficult
As a Canadian I have to note that Donovan Bailey was the men's 100m champion for Canada and the fastest man in the world for a while :) spreading the knowledge! Love the channel and love you John boy
Bro your editing style has come such a long way! Keep up the great work. The content you've been putting out lately has been slaying!
Why is this list literally everybody at my skatepark. All these things literally happen every single day.

John - more commitment in the outros! My favourite bit!

I love the new focus on aesthetics. The montage bits are super nice in this new season! I also really like your point in the outro and I think it goes both ways. I like how you are wearing a helmet to play the douche character. That was a cool subliminal way of saying don't wear helmets at the skate park.
Are you actually not supposed to wear helmets? I’m tryin to stay safe out here
the1dutchmaster cool kids wear helmets
The duo is back, john and dale = GoGeta

John, I just have to say that the vlog season and episode graphic you do is super freaking dope! Its awesome to see you progress daily (pun I n t e n d e d) and grow as a youtuber!

Brandon Brown Dude did you not just see that big ass hug they gave each other?......
Pretty sure John and Dale are together. Maybe they are affectionate off camera ;)
no, it's only for cameras, John is gay.
AHHHH MORE SARA AND JOHN YAAAAASSSSS!!!
hi
You are a legend and a huge inspiration thank you for making such good videos man keep it up!!!
5:41 once I was skating over a garbage bin and these scooter kids moved it off to the side I put it back and then the kid looks me in the eyes and kicks it into the bowl so now there's garbage all over and then runs off
Gnarchar18 Just reading that made me mad
lmaoo skaters and scooter kids will always have beef
Dale's skating in this video was awesome
I got a terrible feminist add from PragerU and it was 4 minutes long of me making memes
PragerU aren't feminists tho wym
At least if you lie, try to know what you are talking about....
Love the positive attitude bro thnx for the slice of life!
Holy shit, my head.... Is this what skating has become?
Drew Nelson nicer people? yea, its like that now.
Donald not what I was thinking at all.... But yeah sure... Go with that.
What do you mean?
That, "it got nicer" is not what I was thinking. See it's what I'm thinking, good or bad or whatever. I smell ur bait and won't bite
What?
Oh my God. my buddy back in the day religiously did all of these. Your videos are the bomb man
Bro who even waxes something they won't skate why did you add that lol ?
Yeah right
Hey, good work John, the content just keeps getting better. The artsy shots are amazing. Keep up the good work bro
would sara dietchy or whatever even date john if he had no subs? nope she wouldnt
fake relationship.
They really have something in common.. they love vlogging, they follow casey neistat,.. i mean it all started with the same interest that make them go together
If you're really a true follower you know why and how
She seems way more into him then he is into her.
There's way too many people like you.
finnaly john and dale
John Hill is like the Soloflow of skateboarding
The quality of your videos got crazy
