Loved the video. I feel like your list is the most from your point of view of anything you have said on here (makes sense of course). I feel like the part that you miss is that what you do is amazing to a lot of people. You compared it to someone just working out at the gym, I would compare it to someone playing music in public. A lot of people are going to see your dope moves and be amazed and not think it's just something someone's doing, but a performance even if you don't mean for it to be. If you think about the average person walking down the street, if they don't actively hate skateboarding already for no reason they're going to be intrigued seeing someone bust out a kick flip or a grind on a ledge and not think it's just an everyday thing. I feel like that's even stronger in a busy place like New York where social privacy in public is harder to come by. Add on top of that, most people have a phone capable of filming pretty nice videos and you've got a recipe for someone treating you like a performer, instead of a dude just doing his thing. I, of course, understand your point of view though. Sorry for the paragraph, I just find social interactions very interesting. I also think it's interesting when someone normally so empathetic with others point of view *seems* to not see the other side of it as easy and I think that's because skateboarding is so normal and so much a part of your everyday life that it increases the difficulty of seeing it from an outside point possibly? Dunno. Interesting thoughts for sure. Anyway, love the vids as usual and excited for everything you have coming up in the future! P.S. Also, a skater saying that other people shouldn't be noisy is pretty much the funniest thing ever. ^_^

I made absolutely sure after that to have kickflips on lock LOL, more than any other trick. I actually quit skating in 2000 though and started back up recently in 2020. Now since I've been skating as an adult, I can appreciate how skaters actually hacked the aspect of people saying "do a kickflip!" and turned it into a meme, as shown in videos posted by The Berrics. So now, whenever anyone says it to me on the streets, I react completely differently and interpret it in an endearing way, because it's almost become part of the history of skating and brings it's own nostalgia. HOWEVER, some guy yelled "do a 360 flip" the other day and here we go again, bc I can't yet do it. That asshole. I must kill him.

How about a video on how to deal with/ treat skaters in public. It sounds like you're just supposed to completely ignore them- don't look, don't talk, stay away. Don't some people want recognition? Have there been encounters with strangers that were actually a positive thing even if they messed with your flow? Are the rules different for normal skaters vs more well-known skaters like you? Idk. Rules like these make me feel sad and disconnected. :/ I mean, I get it. But it still makes me sad.
Hey John sorry to break it to you, but drainage doesn't work for snow... also most public parks close during the winter. Sometimes they have Instagram you can follow which will keep you updated on if it's closed or not. Not sure if they have that for these parks though
