    Just got the tt350N for Christmas (First external flash I've owned). Instruction book that came with it is a bit lackluster. You're video is the perfect of example of informative, yet simple enough that anyone should understand and you even experimented a little and explained your technique. Very well done. I will be watching more of your videos.

    I bought this little flash after watching one of your video’s with the Xpro trigger. It works like a charm and for a very reasonable price.

    Brilliant explanations as usual, thank you. I'll share my own experience here, try as I might I could not get the Zoom button to cooperate. Reading the manual on page 42 I decided it had been deactivated because my batteries must be low (although no on screen indication that they were). Changed the batteries and still no success. Over leaf on page 43 I then read that using the wide panel (which I had been) the zoom will stay constantly on 14mm and the Zoom button will not work! I had folded up and pushed the panel back into the housing. BUT..it was no fully home, protruding by 1mm only. A firm push resulted in a small click and and active zoom button!! Old age approaches faster than I'd hoped.

      I had the same problem and found the answer on TH-cam the next day. Nothing to do with age (I hope).

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Happens to me sometimes. I actually broke the wide panel on another flash and the zoom was permanently fixed wide. I used a little cardboard and tape to hold it down.

    I'm using 2 tt350s. Loving them. Easy fun. I can use one as trigger only. Or both, and add more if I like. Love them because they're smaller... I have a tiny Sony flash... that's my little flash. The 2 350s... I'm looking forward to experimenting a lot, fortunate to live now. 40 years ago experimenting with film... too expensive. Life is good.

    WOLOLO, thanks rob, I bought the 350 but didn't realize it can be optically triggered, you just help me set up a ultra simple two flash system with the FL-LM3. But I still would like to test later by myself if the high speed sync would work in manual mode. I think maybe the flash just cannot limit the flash speed, but it may still output the flat light intensity profile

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to look into this more as I don't think the FLM3 is HSS compatible so the camera won't use a higher shutter speed anyway.

    Thanks for the clear info. However, I have a problem. I have the TT350o version which I was told was compatible with my new Lumix G95 mirrorless camera (since Olympus and Panasonic are the same). BUT, I cannot get it to fire off camera using the wireless trigger! The flash is set in Slave mode (neither TTL or Manual work) on channel 1 in group A and my camera has wireless turned on and set to channel 1 and group A turned on. Nothing happens! Any ideas what could be wrong? Forgive my ignorance, but the camera should act as the Master and the flash set up near the subject should be the Slave, correct?

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the godox trigger wireless is on or the camera? The camera should be set to manual and fill-in, not wireless. Let me know. Thanks. -Rob

    • @peterinpensacola
      @peterinpensacola 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response Rob. I have a Godox flash (TT350o) and am trying to use my G95 to trigger it by radio. I have the camera's wireless turned on. I don't have a Godox trigger as I was told by Andorama Camera it is compatible with the G95. Meaning I can use the camera's radio system to trigger it. They may just be wrong!

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@peterinpensacola Yeah, they are wrong. The godox x system of flashes and triggers are proprietary to godox and not compatible with other systems. You can get a cheap x1t trigger made by neewer here: amzn.to/3adcUD0

    • @peterinpensacola
      @peterinpensacola 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Rob. What is the purpose of having an "O" version tailored to Olympus and Panasonic cameras if it does not work with their radio trigger! How stupid. The pins on the hot shoe work with Panasonic, but the radio trigger does not. Poor engineering. The matter is further obfuscated by Godox advertising that it has "2.4 GHz radio control". I'm sending it back. Why would I want another gadget (a dedicated trigger) to keep track of? I'm buying the Lumix FL360L flash which will is a total solution. Thanks again for you feedback.

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@peterinpensacola Makes sense. The godox system is great if you need to expand to their larger strobes with multi light setups like in a studio. Still, it's nice to have a flash that can be controlled directly from the camera. Much more efficient for smaller setups.

    I was just saying yesterday, wonder if I missed any of Rob's videos. Perfect video for me because I am thinking of getting the TT685 as my main and TT350 as a rim or fill flash with a radio trigger. Currently I am doing some head shots where I have a wall and ceiling that is perfect as a butterfly light using my FL50 on a flash bracket but obviously I can't take the wall and ceiling with me on location if that would be needed. You got me thinking that I could actually either use the optical trigger working with my old trusty FL50 or the hotshoe on the radio trigger to connect it. Thanks!

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't see a need for the tt685 if you have the FL50 and are comfortable with setting the flash power manually. If shoot outdoors, you may want to consider getting the AD200 instead.

    I have a question I think you probably know the answer to... When I got my tt350o last week, and started playing with it, I could swear that the godox flash was firing off camera while the camera's flash was up, but set to off. I turned wireless on, on my Panasonic G85. Is it possible that my G85 was acting as a wireless trigger, or was I probably in slave mode and didn't realize that the camera's flash was firing? What do you think?

It only has a Fill setting and can't find a manual setting for the flash unlike in your video for the Mii or Miii. And its flash sync limits me to only 1/160. Can't reach the 1/250 ss. Did i miss something or its really just the limits of the 1st Mark1? Thanks again.

      I'm not sure why, but I have a similar issue with my e-m10ii and x1t trigger. I can only get 1/180th even though the camera can do 1/250th. Not a big deal I suppose. I just switch the hss button on the trigger to get whatever speed I need. Have you tried that? Also, you can just use fill flash setting then control the flash power with trigger. Not as convenient as just dialing in exposure comp, but it's a viable workaround.

      @@RobTrek Thanks so much Rob. Yes, i do the hss and the fill combined with adjusting the power. Guess its a work around that i can live with. Good there are options as this. Looking forward to your next tutorials. Stay safe.

      I think Robin Wong just posted a video on sharper images. Haven't watched it yet but may be worth checking out. Generally I recommend using as fast a shutter speed as possible. Camera shake is the biggest problem. Our cameras autofocus pretty well otherwise.

      One thing I stumbled relates to using single auto + manual focus. I have set up function button 1 to enable zoom in. I still didn't think I was getting the sharpest. After going from the LCD I found taking off glasses and using the eyepiece was my best result. But only AFTER I made sure I had set the diopter dial next to the eyepiece to my eye.

      Hi. I looked at the manual for the 580exii and it seems that it will only work as a slave unit with other canon flashes. You'll need to get an optical trigger shoe like this one: amzn.to/3U8hz37

    • @RobTrek

      It's for attaching light modifiers such as gels and snoots. When shopping for flash accessories, you'll find many that attach via velcro (hook and loop).

    Hi Rob. Thanks for your efficient tutorials. Do you have an idea why a TT350o wouldn't work with my om-d em-10 (mark 1). It's not listed in the flash manual but people on the web have said it works for them. I can just get it to fire off camera as a slave, not on camera. Also does RCmode have any bearing on the subject? Thanks and keep up the good work.

      @@RobTrek Thanks for the reply. I don't believe I have a silent shutter on this model... unless it's called something else. And I am in fill mode... My only hypothesis other than my camera isn't working properly is that maybe those people who say they have used the flash on this camera have forgotten to mention the version of their em-10 and are in fact not using the mark 1.

      Unfortunately as I don't have a Mark 1 to try for myself, I can't really help. Only other thing I can think of is make sure high speed sync (FP) is off. Check the mu-43 forums. I'm sure someone there has the em10 mark 1 and a godox.

    The 350 can shoot by itself in high speed sync, but it can’t remote trigger another flash to fire in high speed sync, can it?

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not having any problem firing my on-camera tt350 and off-camera ad200 in hss - meaning there are no black bars. However, the flash power is greatly reduced but it works. Best to put both flashes in manual mode for hss. I seem to get much brighter images. I generally found using an nd filter and shooting in normal sync speed gets better results.

    I have the Neewer nw400o for Olympus and the Neewer N1 trigger. I LOVE this flash and I am amazed at the life of batteries. But I am wondering if you would know if the nw400 is equivalent to the Godox tt350, to the point that my Neewer trigger would work with Godox?
