- On the first day of this trip, we traveled up through Flagstaff, across the vast Navajo Nation, and past the Vermillion Cliffs on our way to a favorite boondocking spot on the Kaibab National Forest near Jacob Lake, at an elevation of just under 8,000 feet. At one point I talk about the Mormon Trail, and although that name is correct, it is more commonly known as the Honeymoon Trail, for the reasons explained in the video. C'mon along for the ride....
Beautiful scenery! Thanks for taking us for the ride! Looking forward to Part 2! God Bless🙏 ❤️✌️
Thanks, Maggie!
Beautiful country. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks, Vince! See you soon....
Spectacular scenery - thanks for sharing your amazing journey 🙏
Thanks, Gillian Ann!
Thanks for all your great videos. Long days and pleasent nights to you.
Thanks, Angelo!
Wow!! I’ve never seen any part of that stretch before!! Beautiful!! Thank you!
I've been across this stretch many times, Judith, but I never tire of it....
Thanks for the ride!! It was beautiful!
Thanks, Judith!
Enjoyed the scenery very pretty, liked the history talk too!
Thanks, Linda. This crossing was a pretty important spot before Hoover Dam (and Lake Mead) was/were completed in 1938....
What beautiful country! I hope to get out that way one day. I bet the night sky there is breathtaking! I really like that rig. Hope the forest folks pay you a visit!
Thanks, Greg!
Chuck, I love the rig. Looking forward to hearing about any encounters with the forest peeps. I will pray for your safety.
Thank you, Mark! I heard back from Alabama Al, and that video is uploading right now....
That is a sweet boondocking spot, Chuck. I have trouble at that height; learned that last year when a friend and I stayed up in the Coconino National Forest as well as part of the Kaibab National Forest. Thanks for the historical information; I love learning new things. Absolutely gorgeous landscape! Have a lovely trip!
Thanks, Lisa!
Thanks for the tour buddy.
You're welcome, Martin!
Wow! Nice spot too !!
👍
Hi Chuck, I'd love to see a tour of your trailer, looks like a really nice one! Enjoy your trip, safe travels!
It's nothing fancy, Jacquie. It's a 2017 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB. We bought it new in late-2016, so we've had it going on eight years. Grand Design RV actually has a very active owners' group, and they sponsor rallies all over the US and Canada, including one here in Kanab....which is why we're here right now. I've actually made quite a few modifications to this trailer over the years, and I've talked about some of them in previous videos....
@chuckjacobs-arizona7698 I'll have to check that out! Thankyou for replying 😊
Wow. I can't even imagine the night sky from that open road highway. Did you see the aurora? I guess it is visible from Phoenix. Have fun. Lynda
I've looked a few times, but I haven't caught them. And the place where we are staying right now actually has a tall cliff to the north....can't see anything in that direction. Years ago, I actually did see them from my house during a similar solar storm event.
safe travles
Thanks, Janet!
