Regina cheat a little…. Grab the bottom of the wheel palm down. If you want the trailer to go left take your hand left Right take your hand right. Small inputs and number one…..nothing fast should ever happen in the cab. Slow is smooth and take your time!!!! Good luck!

I know this is a year later , and the misses should be backing well by now , however that being said , a little trick I learned when backing short trailers , put the transfer case in low , let the vehicle idle , keep the foot off the throttle as much as possible , computer controlled engines wont stall as easily as the old carb points engines , this allows the driver to keep up with the trailer , use the mirrors as much as possible , and keep all steering inputs small . Enjoy your channel , thank you for letting us tag along

2 highlights for me: Regina’s growing comfort with backing the trailer, and Medano pass backwards.
Being from Texas, my favorite route across southern Colorado is from the east over Medano pass to the dunes, then to Creede and up the Rio Grande to its source via 520 over Stony pass to Silverton, often taking the side trip to Kite Lake.

Its awesome for when all my kids are home at once, and I can make an entire breakfast for everyone and have it all finished at the same same time. Keep practicing backing up the trailer. Like anything new, it takes a lot of practice. Don't get discouraged. After you become a pro, just think of the funny stories you will be able to tell. Great video guys!!

A tip when reversing with a trailer. When you in a straight line position with jeep , put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Turn then the steering wheel from the bottom grip in the direction you wish the trailer must go 😉

Beautiful territories, nice views at camp, and I swear I could almost smell that food cooking!
Regina, it looks like you are slowly getting the hang of backing up a trailer. It can be a little like cat herding, I agree. You might try practicing with an empty parking lot and some big, empty cardboard boxes. Once you can get the trailer moving in a straight line, try adding some boxes in a pattern for obstacle avoidance. I trained my daughter this way, in little baby steps, now she can back a trailer up like nobody's business! Good luck, and keep at it. You got this! 👍

We did the Medano Pass trail as a group coming home to California in 2012 from a two week Colorado trip. On our ADV motorcycles. Seeing that really long creek crossing and all of that sand brought back memories, not exactly good ones! I believe the trail was actually closed and gated for a number of years following a fire and winter erosion damage. Good to see its open and passable again.

I appreciate your videos and your general enjoyment of the natural environment. I’m an avid backpacker and hiker and climber living in Colorado and constantly seeking out quiet places in a crowded state. I just want to say that very loud vehicles (mufflers…) and OHVs produce a lot of noise that echoes throughout virtually every canyon here these days. Noise pollution isn’t all that different than finding litter on the ground. Both detract from the solitude and connection to untouched nature we pursue in the backcountry.

I've been noticing your old fashioned coffee pot. A buddy I used to go camping with a lot had one of those and HAD TO HAVE his coffee in the morning. On one trip he discovered it wasn't in his kitchen box. He rummaged through the garbage, found a beer can, cut the bottom off lined it with paper towel and used it as a "drip coffee maker". 🤣

LOL! That's awesome, I'm going to have to remember the beer can trick!

Jelly/Jam/Preserves on burgers is next level good. Depending on the flavor, a fried egg on it in addition to the jelly is also awesome

I'm down for an egg my burger, but just haven't acquired the taste for jelly on it.

@@TrailRecon Give it a try with a jelly or preserves you know you like alongside savory. Grape is usually an easy one since people like it on their buttered toast - so if you like that, it will probably pair well on a burger for you. I could see passing on it if all that was available at the time was blackberry. I love blackberry but I know it's a bit of a niche flavor. Jalapeno jam is also bonkers good on burgers

Coming from crowded country like India where camping is almost impossible, I love to enjoy these kind of vidoes

Oh no! Another sweets in the main course controversy. Of course, I'll have to side with Brad on this one again, haha
That drive to the Sand Dunes looks like the one we just took from Durango in May. Beautiful country, awesome adventure guys.

Hand on the bottom of the steering wheel: push your hand right, trailer backs right; push your hand left, trailer backs left. So simple if only you remember to put your hand on the bottom.

Great video as always, really enjoyed seeing you both at Overland Expo in Loveland. Medano is such a cool tail, glad you got to experience it. For the record, the locals pronounce it Meh-duh-no. Cheers!

Had tons of bison in my life, hadn’t had elk until this summer in Colorado. Elk is one of my favorite meats now.

Hi Brad and Vagina. This video is the best have ever done . I am so jealous. I live UK. And must of the the land is Privately owned so we don't get to do much of of roading and camping do without Breaking the law that could end up getting our vehicle taken . be the police .q There were probably own campsites which coat a arm and leg The only exception to this is Scotland where a bit of one camping is permitted but even now they're clamping down.keep on making like this . Ps can you open online store in the UK. It coast 20% taxes us postage and it is Too expensive to buy any of your merchandise Eugene

I was there that following Sunday. I found bear tracks everywhere out there. I marked alot of campsites including that one on X. It was an amazing trail I will start out on next trip. I couldn't make to the expo because I started up north working my way souyh while you guys were down south heading north. Man I have to say the clarity and definition of your video is amazingly awesome
