I just get excited by beautiful places without too many people. And given that this describes a vast swath of the western US, I get excited by places fairly often :)

At 14:18 a silhouette of a man's face looking left, on the left side of the rock. I traveled all over Southern Utah 30-35 years ago. A knee injury slowly halted my trips. Get a jeep/car that you can take the roof off of. It almost becomes a spiritual experience. Living on the other side of the world now and I regret not taking a driving only trip thru this area before I moved. Thanks for the great videos.

I’ll always live and remember the terra-cotta and green colored rocks. Although I’m from the Netherlands, i.e. sea level, wet and green, the greater four-corners area is etched into my memory. Even remember the smell!
The Devil’s Backbone Bridge was awesome.

Utah is Majestic, my wife and I have rode out there five times on different trips spending 7- 10 days and still want to go back. I envy you and what’s crazy is we have rode over 160000 miles on our bike across the USA 🇺🇸 on cross country trips. We were never able to get back into the back country as being on a tour bike we did rent a Jeep in Moab once and went back in canyon lands. Really enjoy your vlogs.

One of the best restaurants in the country is in Boulder, UT. Hell's Backbone Grill has been nominated (and I think won) a few James Beard Awards. They have excellent food from their own farm and other farmers in the area, and was started by two very beautiful souls who used to do adventure catering.

Very nice. Makes me want to pack up and head for the desert country and get out of this snow. Spectacular drive on Hwy 12 from Escalante to Torrey riding atop the rimrock. Just beware that you can get stuck behind some pretty sizable RVs on that same road.....but nonetheless an excellent trip. If you get tired of your own cooking check out Cafe Diablo in Torrey, it is a five-star restaurant and a bit of a hidden gem.

These switchbacks remind me of the switchbacks on the east entry road into Zion. I took a photo of 8 (?) tight switchbacks visible on the GPS screen at the same time, and worried mightily for those descending in the large tourist buses.

Love your adventures. Lived a nomadic lifestyle, a couple years in Southern Utah as a kid, which is the area I've always loved most. That bridge used to be somewhat scary to drive across back when it was a wooden structure, no side rails, just a couple of big logs on the sides to hopefully keep your wheels on the bridge should not stay centered.

desert is not my cup of tea and you are right when you say that some people are in love with trees, groves or even thick vegetation and greenery and stuff... yes, but sunsets/sunrises in the desert are unbeatable thats number one. And number two sometimes desert is exceptionally beautiful and even more mysterious and mesmerising than any timber. Deserts are like oceans... a lot of water, a lot of sand ;))

I was here last September. I love the hummingbirds at the Escalante Visitors center. There were so many.
Devil's Garden was a photographer's dream. I passed the turn off for Hells Backbone because I didn't have time, but now that I see your video, I regret it.
There's a restaurant in Boulder called Burr Trail Grill that has the best whiskey chocolate pie and buffalo cauliflower. I ate on the patio which was very quaint.
My fav. part of this video was your campsite at the end in Capitol Reef. Amazing. Thank you.

I don't think I saw any hummingbirds at the visitor center. I'd passed Hells Backbone a couple of times on previous trips too, but it was definitely worth the effort. Really fun drive. I'll have to stop by at that restaurant the next time I'm in the area. Thanks Deanna!

Obey the speed limits when in the town of Escalante. My friend received a speeding ticket there for going 2 mph over the limit. And the cop was serious; my friend was actually 2~3 mph over. And this warning really applies to small, rural towns out west in general. Many of these small police departments depend heavily on income from tickets.

Good to know. I always try to obey speed limits in the small towns, but it is easy to go just slightly over. Thanks for watching and commenting.

death is natures way of telling to slow down. Don't speed through our towns.

I use to do this sort of thing when I was younger. But we didn't have video cameras and TH-cam. I hope to go to some of these places in the future.

I literally laughed out loud at 5:42 when you said "Oooh I'm gonna go stand out here!" because I thought you were joking. But of course you weren't joking, and I laughed again because, duh, I should have realized you would indeed go stand out there, LOL. Too bad the campsite wasn't a campsite but still an amazing spot to discover off the beaten path.

Lol yeah, I laughed at that too as I was editing the video. It was just too good to pass up! Thanks for watching and commenting, as always :)
