Friends and family can't do it because it will attack them later outside of training and also friends and family are the only ones to put the time in. Who should I get to be the agressor and how much does it cost to get dog trained by pros to be a protective guardian type dog. My final question is if my American akita is suitable for a protective guard dog/ personal guardian job
MegamiSama88 no....a police dog will attack anyone mask or not on command so Im assuming it really doesn't matter you just have to train it to hop off an attacker on command which is the hardest part.
@@b1squitz31 you're Akita will work, but it might do this with very little training. You can have him do bite work, even have him bite you with a sleeve, if you have a strong bond with your dog it will know not to attack you with full force and may enjoy the exercise. I've put my Akita in situations where I had a friend ‘threaten’ me and she responded immediately, no training was actually necessary, Akitas just need a kind of honing of their natural instinct, as they were breed to be guard dogs. Mastiffs are the same way, but both of these dogs independent nature makes them difficult to do this for sport, it's difficult to off leash train them etc. Just have a friend creep around the corner of your house while you're sitting with your dog on leash, and have him scream and threaten you. As soon as your dog responds with aggression have him run away. That's how it all starts...
dont try to make him not feeling scared. like its ok .just leave him and continue walking cuz if u make him not feeling scared he will think that getting scared is ok and he will be scared of his shadow
Dogs are so smart. Training goes like: 1. Sit there, no idea what’s going on. 2. Makes a small amount of effort and gets rewarded. 3. Suddenly the dog knows exactly what’s going on, and does exactly what you want it to.
It's not raw intelligence, but intuition. Dogs basically do have a sixth sense, there are sooo many documented cases of dogs sensing danger (whether it be a violent threat, or someone who got seriously injured in an accident, or something else) almost supernaturally. Look up "dogs know when owner is returning", they can somehow sense, that the owner is returning home soon, with seemingly no indication or provocation at all, even when the owner is going out for random lengths of time, to random places.
I've trained many of our dogs at a very early age 5-6 months and they all were very well disciplined and very protected of us..by 7 months it guarded our home very aggressively but healed when given a command
I do not have a dog either but watching these type of vids help you understand dog language and the thought process. Because of this and experience for the most part i can understand and communicate with a doggo better than the owner. It has helped me out a couple times in sketchy situations.
Man smokin weed and watching this shit makes me want to cry with joy. This boy is so smart. Ive been wanting to train my dog in some protection work (with help of course) and this is just the thing i needed to see
Thoroughly enjoyed it, and a great reminder of the importance of the decoys in both physical and psychological aspects. It is sad to see that many "trainers" have forgotten the defense drive (as has negative reinforcement been forgotten), and that those who have "found" defense drive overly advocate it without a emphasizing a balance of the dog. Thanks for the video guys!
I didnt have to train my dog to do, this she just did it naturally. The first time she went after an aggressive person i just encouraged her. She knows when to go at someone. She loves people just not aggresive people . I love my pitty.
My only suggestion at about the 2:15 mark or so when you ask owner to pet him, I used to find if the owner said things like "who's that" or "what's he doing" with emphasis on the handler projecting concern in their voice helped the dog get over that initial hump. Voice projection, consistency, singular repetition always worked when I did it 45 years ago.
This seems just really odd to me. I have a personal protection dog, trained for me and her training was nothing like this. She had great temperament but her protection work was started early. The dog was brought to me at nine months and at nine months and two weeks I had an encounter with a stalker. She was ready to handle that situation even at that young age. I am not saying that it can't be done this way. I just can't imagine my shepherd having an 'agitator' standing over me, pretending to beat me while the dog stands down in the hall looking on.
Jay York ...Yes, that seems strange. I only have my dog and the company that trained her to go on but they breed and train a large amount of dogs for protection and I know the start their puppies at a very young age, most with their obedience work and working with their prey drive. Put in Reagan Von Prufenpuden and you can see my pup at about eight to ten weeks starting the beginning of her training. She was a little beast even then. She is four now.
If your dog misreads the situation, it could end up getting the dog put down. He must hear the command to attack first. If not, you could be roughhousing with your S/O or something and your dog freaks out and attacks him.
This is terrible training. My dog was trained early and has saved us multiple times. Once he bit an attacker and pulled them away from us. And another when a man tried to kidnap me. I love how smart german shepherds are. all they need to know is that you approve of what they're doing and they're practically trained (obviously mite training is needed for refinement). I have a Shepard chow mix but get personality and intelligence is all Shepard. best dog I ever had. I don't think I would every get any other type of dog
Can a west highland white terrrier be trained to do this? They're usually -- i guess "tougher" than your average small dog breed? and mine is highly territorial too.
Great video, very interesting. As trainers we sometimes get involved with the work and forget that on video people who watch might not get the whole picture. 👍
Great and very informative. Only surprised this GSD did not go mad. My boy is untrained and you would have had problems holding him back. Want to watch mainly for ways to train him to stop when there isn't a threat. Can take him to a busy street and he will kiss kids and sniff hands. At night when I am on high alert, my boy will not let anyone near us. I know he feeds off my energy but I find it impossible to exert a calmness. If I get startled by someone appearing out of nowhere - he also reacts. I met with a long time friend and the person who lost my moms dog. He had never met either. He initially barked at the girl who lost my moms dog and I stopped him. He was all puppy and kisses to my longtime friend. In the two hours in their company, he would not let the girl touch him, would not take a treat from her and would shy away from her. He picks up on my feelings too easily. On the other hand, my obedience trainer started to air punch in front of me and remarked how unprotective he was - I was laughing and smiling while he was doing this. If you can direct me to anything which will help with my boy - I would be most grateful. He has certificates in obedience. Does scentwork and heelwork to music. Great with dogs and kids.
Is a.protection dog same as a guard dog? I want a dog that can protect the home and family members when out walking.. Roughly how long does it take to train myself and how how old should the dog be idealy?
Can you teach every type of dog to be a guard dog? Or just german shephard, husky, pitbull and all these more "agressive"? I want to get a Samoyed dog and I also want to make him a protection dog. Can I do it? It will work? This breed of dog when is grown up is big and strong. What do you think?
A neighbor down the block has a protection trained Rottweiler. We crossed paths at night as I was turning the corner he was coming up up the block unleashed, owner had let him out to take a leak and come back in. He was standing inside the fence while the Rottweiler was trooting outside. He gave him the leave it and he just went around like I didnt exist. Peed on the tree and jumped back over the fence like a boss.
If I was the "victim" my Shep would have already tried attack, when the decoy was just approaching me like that, with a "stick" lol Just instinctively in him I guess.
So, probably a dumb question, but how are the dogs trained to know the difference between an aggressive person and a friendly person? What keeps them from reacting aggressively to anyone that approaches instead of just aggressive people? Is it paired with a command and does that command really teach the difference between someone who is aggressive and someone who isnt? I know there is also the obvious the dog can tell when the person is attacking as a good indicator that they are aggressive, but ideally wouldn't the dog would react before the owner gets attacked? So basically, what prevents the dog from being aggressive towards everyone that approaches? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I train dogs in obedience and service work, but I dont do anything in this field so I dont know a lot.
I love this...you aren't doing anything that dog isn't bread to do! I'm no pro but this makes all kinds of sense, without control that dog would have torn them up!✌🏽
My only thing is say a stranger walks into ur house trying to steal stuff vs a kid. How do you train your dog or is it in them enough to see it’s a “baby human” and it’s not a threat or do they not see or care the difference. ??

hey I have a question...I'm about to get a Breton español and they are not known to be a protective dog...but I would like to know if whit training she can become protective.. thank you
I've seen a schutzen 3 trained dog that could do amazing stuff like the handler could give it a silent command that meant stay here guard the house if anyone comes in kill them no noise.
So basically anyone who came into that house wouldn't hear a bark or growl all of a sudden they would just get hit and the dog would have them at the base of the skull and then the spine would be severed at the atlas. People don't realize that a dog of this size, the shepherd, Pitt bull or especially a wolf can hit you with such force as to break your femur or in some cases take the leg off at the knee.
I like this method better than the one where the handler hits the dog in face/nose till it gets mad then growls then praises him to get the same effect .

Good. Dogs used to be proud animals trained for various tasks. Guarding, farming ect. Nowdays most of them are "taught" to be those little "cuddly dogs, aww so cute :))", they are pampered, and subsequently they bark at anything and anywhere. They don't obey their owner, they fight other dogs without reason, piss on the floor ect. Dogs are to be trained to be the best friend of the OWNER, not the best friend of the lady who wants to pat it. Dogs are to be trained to protect the OWNER, not fight with other dogs.

thank you for the video. very nice of you to share !
I love how smart german shepherds are. all they need to know is that you approve of what they're doing and they're practically trained (obviously mite training is needed for refinement). I have a Shepard chow mix but get personality and intelligence is all Shepard. best dog I ever had. I don't think I would every get any other type of dog
Matthew Van Helden I've had Shepard's the pitbull is very smart as well
Chihuahuas are automatically trained when they are born, except every human is a criminal
Lol fr
If the dog knows other close family members will it also protect those that are close to the dog. Or just protect the members who trained the dog?
Thank a lot for this info guys it's helped me understand where I was going wrong
Thank you for this video, helped me very much!
Outstanding job on showing how some of the training u do. How long does it really take to train a dog
Man: Get out of here!! *Lady tries to get out of there* Man: you're not going anywhere lady😅
great video very helpful hope there's more to come.
This encourages me more to own a dog
I learn Alot from you videos but I’m not sure if maybe my dog is too small to start this process she’s 7months any thoughts
Is a.protection dog same as a guard dog? I want a dog that can protect the home and family members when out walking.. Roughly how long does it take to train myself and how how old should the dog be idealy?
Excellent tips! And awesome performance by all handlers. And, of course, AWESOME borkbork nomnom. :-)
Can you also do this with smaller dogs? Even tho people Will not be scared for it..
What’s the aggression command he’s using is he saying “a-hole” or “pass off”
I agree with what Zaky said, please make this into a series. Nobody shows the actual process of protection training, just the results. Great video.
What an amazing video !
If I was the "victim" my Shep would have already tried attack, when the decoy was just approaching me like that, with a "stick" lol Just instinctively in him I guess.
Pamela Thrasher
That's not good
Stroppy How is that not good? The dog knows a threat when it sees one.
Pamela Thrasher he is getting trained dumbass
Will this work with a pitbull also
Thank you for the good advice.x
I definitely want to teach my dog this
This is amazing thank you!
Can I get my dog trained?
that was so cool .... man i need such a dog !!!
What is the command you use? Pass auf?
Great video!!
Do you compete in IPO, Rings, Mondoring?
You are trading him in the Dutch way. Really good video
How much will it be
my three months old German Shepard protects me already because I encouraged her early on.
Really good Handling and train
I love this...you aren't doing anything that dog isn't bread to do! I'm no pro but this makes all kinds of sense, without control that dog would have torn them up!✌🏽
My only thing is say a stranger walks into ur house trying to steal stuff vs a kid. How do you train your dog or is it in them enough to see it’s a “baby human” and it’s not a threat or do they not see or care the difference. ??
really good video. But would have been better if you guys could give a small treat after the last few barks as a reward.
Saurabh Mehta, poor idea. So, the dog only reacts when the dog smells food on you? Negative. Praising is always better.
What Mussel did you use
How much does training like this usually cost?
Most of the time it feels like my dog is training me on who the bad guys are. They are highly aware of the situation.
There is a purebred male rottweiler in Miami Dade shelter. He is on death row. I see that occasionally you guys have private trained dogs for sale. Can you please help him?
How much do you sell the trained dogs for
Sir, can a Labrador retriever be trained for protection ? My lab( 6 months old) is very scary of other dogs , when they bark at her she hides behind me .
Where are you guys located?
Bruh, I tried this once with my dog. I’m telling you the second the guy with the sleeve started yelling at me, and came close my dog wanted to eat him alive. I love how this ones just watching like ‘Ok. Cool’😂
hey I have a question...I'm about to get a Breton español and they are not known to be a protective dog...but I would like to know if whit training she can become protective.. thank you
Excellent video
I've seen a schutzen 3 trained dog that could do amazing stuff like the handler could give it a silent command that meant stay here guard the house if anyone comes in kill them no noise.
So basically anyone who came into that house wouldn't hear a bark or growl all of a sudden they would just get hit and the dog would have them at the base of the skull and then the spine would be severed at the atlas. People don't realize that a dog of this size, the shepherd, Pitt bull or especially a wolf can hit you with such force as to break your femur or in some cases take the leg off at the knee.
I am looking for a protection school for my GSD. He is now 1yr old. Any recommendation on a school here in Wisconsin?
i have a 8 month german only thing she does is hide in bathroom !! when someone try start stuff with me!!! how can i start her with training!!
I like this method better than the one where the handler hits the dog in face/nose till it gets mad then growls then praises him to get the same effect .
guys i absolutely love this video, i am a inspired dog lover who would love to learn the traits of k'9 protection services. please moe videos like this and ohh when will yalld next training school be available?
Joshua Nugent You can check out the online training school at www.dogtraining.world if you are interested. Always looking to have good and new people to join the training community. The school covers an immense amount of great material. You will learn way beyond what the average dog trainer learns. If it's something you're interested in I recommend checking out the site. It's a great community!
Judy • Thanks for the response and i will be sure to give the site a visit. thanks again for your time.
Dogs are to be trained to protect the OWNER, not fight with other dogs.
well said 👆
Quick question
I hav a 10 month old malinois and he does the job but why does it say the dog is required to be two years old minimum?
Karam Asad start before two years
