Interesting video! They are building my 2555 X there this month also know as the Silver Jubilee reissue!I should take delivery via Sweetwater sound by February end!!Can’t wait !!!
Years ago, I was a courier driver and once had to deliver to Marshall. I was like a kid in a sweet shop and they were so gracious to show me around. They were doing a Vox amp there at the time.
i brought a marshall 8080 valvestate 80v = bloody fantastic not too heavy and kicks ass lots of functions and great with my les paul jnr and the big humbucker pickup ! = thank you marshall and all the people whom work there your doing a great job .
I think our guy here has told this story one too many times, anyone else expect him to break out into tears watching that? Either way very cool video and very good oral history.
i had the good fortune to be sponsored by Marshall in the 1990s. They let me borrow the Nigel Tufnel stack that went to 20. It was fantastic !!! Love the Mod Target amp autographed by Weller and Co. . If you want me to color correct this for you, I'd be delighted. Just reach out . I do video production in Massachusetts and have 40 years experience.
Thank you Sir. I hope to see this Rock museum in person sometime. Hopefully you will still have factory tours. Great history lesson. Where did Leo F. Come in to play? Thanks Bill.
Hi this messag I have put elsewhere, on youtubes Marshall Factory Tour, and Marshall chats, but they delete it, I'll try again... I worked in the late 60's for Paddy Nolan, Nolan Amps, a close friend of Marshalls, I would often go to Marshalls workshop, and Jim visited Nolan. On one of my trips to Marshall, maybe 69, I was given a book they didn't need any more, the booka has Marshall tech's notations and some later by Nolan builders. The book was "Electric Guitar Amplifier Handbook" first edition by Jack Darr, I still have the book, they used it to copy, modify the Fender Bassman Amp. True Story.
@@rainerwinkler1026 and their Master P.A. amps ruled, full and clear tone. Back in the day, a friend had a 50 watt model driving a full stack. Plugged a guitar in, the most full-sounding, amazing clean tone i ever heard.
Too much about the newer models, not nearly enough about the golden age stuff. Only one sentence about the master model, the greatest Marshall ever. Also the bit about the Bluesbreaker, saying that it was Cream that recorded the Beano album is proof he doesn’t know jack. 😬
Dude doesn't even know Marshall history... his years are way off. The first 100w (JTM-100) was built in 1966... not 1968! The Master Volume circuits 2203/2204 was designed by Steve Grindrod in 1976... not "the late 60's early 70's" as this ignoramus is telling you!
If Jim was still alive, he would've fired him lol. Get your facts straight, where did they get this guy. This is the legendary Marshall we're talking about. That reminds me, i have a magazine called The Marshall Story, entertaining read. Now i gotta find it !
from the way he talked, he didn't sound too well-spirited about all of his amps.. I get the impression he's more of a ordinary working-class man rather than more of a passionate working musician. IMHO
oh wow it gets worse, the super lead(also known as the plexi) you could use a patch lead to use both channels, low and high, where did they get this guy from, how do i say he's an even bigger NERD than i first thought
Can someone from the UK tell me: what part(s) of England might this guy come from that causes him to say "amp-LEE-fier" and "four-BEE-twelve"? Also, cracks me how he says certain components are put on by "ladies".
I can't believe this guy is the archivist. Don't listen to him. Beside the fact that he's carelessly leaning on the Number 1 while precariously hanging off the edge, his information is so misleading. Makes it sound like the JCM800 all came with 2 channels, the JCM900 was the first with a line out, JCM2000 is the only one with 2 speaker outs, etc. And that's just the stuff I know about, let alone everything else he should know. Very poor information here.
They need to find someone who knows there amplifiers smh. "It's called the Bluesbreaker because It was used by Cream on the Bluesbreaker album" I was laughing my ass off. You can't make this shit up lol.

What a great video! I wish some day i can have a factory tour in person. I also wish some day i can get a Marshall..
AWSOME INSIDE LOOK INTO THE MARSHALL FACTORY, IF I EVER GO TO EUROPE I'LL BE SURE TO STOP BY
MB215 If you ever go to Europe you'll have to cross an ocean to get there.

Great video! Thank you!

I was thinking he looked like he was having severe heartburn and gas. I enjoyed the history but he was hard to watch.
He sounds very out of breath

Heard they are not using the same trasnformers in their Jcm 800 amps anymore, are they doing this on the 87, jtm45, and 100w plexi?

Anything Marshall-related, i love. Would've appreciated something more alive-sounding as the intro music...... This is the mighty Marshall, after all.
Very nice!
THEY ACTUALLY DO MAKE THE JVM IN A 100W COMBO
Yep, I have one !
Ha! I went for an interview there in 1969 but turned the job down. Wish I'd taken it now :(
Dude. Really ?? Some people would kill for that lol
Do you Marshall Museum people change out the Caps. And filters? Thanks Bill
Fun game: Drink every time he says versatile.
Just leaning against the original amp, sitting precariously on a half stack. real classy dude! And this is who they trust as the archivist? lol
Wrong. It was used by Clapton on John Mayall's Beano album

Somewhere in the South East of England without a shadow of a doubt.
Yeah but up north we say fower be twelve
Sounds southern. Milton Keynes

Is this in Mexico or China ?
CHINA, notice he didnt say where. lots of cold and no solider joints. point to point?
It's in the UK, near Bletchley Park in Milton Keanes. All top-range Marshalls are manufactured in the UK.
I'd like to see a tour of the Chinese Marshall's factory...😳🥴🎸
their import stuff is made in Vietnam
Marshall...loud n orrible...lol
