I love Simon's narrative of the experience when Black Sabbath was first released, as if he's telling a story of witnessing a great battle in Mordor and lives to tell the story about it lol.
I wouldnt say laney is responsible for heavy metal all alone. Tony did also use marshalls. He also used a rangemaster to get his sound :) Iommi said: “I think I was using Marshall early on, and then Laney on the first album, but when we first wrote [Black Sabbath] songs, I was using a Marshall 50-watt. I switched to Laney because they started up around the same time as us, and they’re a Birmingham company. To be honest, they offered to give us all this gear when nobody else did. What do you say to that? ‘Okay!’ So I used them.”
Dagan, I love Laney amps. Back in my day, I started with Laney. Laney was my first amp was a Pro Tube Lead. I had a Tony Iomi amp, now I have a Ironheart 120 in my amp collection.
I love my AOR50 combo. Just had it serviced and the tone is to die for! An incredible tone and sweet distortion. Favorite for a long time even since your Ace Frehley days
AORs were such an insider tip back when I started shopping for my first tube head. They were realtively rare but cheap and - once properly service - such brilliant amps. Unfortunately word got around in the doom community and prices went mad for the AORs - so I got a GH100TI a few years later, since they still were unbelivably cheap and built like a tank. My amp technicians loved my Laney (very unlike my ENGL head). Insane amp still going strong. p.s.: recently tho I switched to the IRH loudpedal for giggin since its just such a steal and made to fit for application on a modern stage, where all the technicians will force you to turn down a tube head to 1 1/2 Masters volume anyways.
Dagon there is an amazing little 9 yr old that can play bass to any song called ELLEN PLAYS BASS ... Check her out and plug her and be part of this kids future... Vai did and put her on stage with him last October tour in Vegas.. she will blow you away...

Most dynamic amp I ever heard on TH-cam, and it's not even close. Absolutely incredible. skip to 16:06. no pedals

Love Laney Amps. The tone is beyond awesome. Thanks guys.
I still own and enjoy an LH50R amp head from the 90's. Very versatile full featured amp.
Overall the best Rock amps out there. My go to gig amp.
I think that I love the Laney and HK amps equally...but ya, awesome amps.
Dude, you are so lucky, I wish I could play that amp.
Laney VH100... my fav amp.

Great video!
Simon reminds me of Rufus from the Bill and Ted movies.
Didn’t Tony use Laney because they gave him the Amp? I think remember hearing that
Fantastic! =) x

So stoner vibe this amp has
