    Usefull video, as always from you 👍🏻
    This is, ofcourse, right way to do replace, my little tip- if you do replacement on w212 models without auxiliary battery- some data on instrument cluster will be erased(average consumption, daily km...).
    *there is way to prevent this- keep engine running while doing replacement. ;)

    Yuasa batteries are really good, they are original parts for a lot of motorbike manufacturers... I have a Yuasa put in place of the auxiliary battery on my C180 and it works great for the start-stop function!

    Thank you for this video! This was very helpful. Note, on some w212 models (mine is 2013 550) they do not have a “service position” latch, but do allow you to just push the hood all the way to 90 degrees

      Thanks that’s interesting info, I was sure all had the service latch but it may depend on the pedestrian protection thing.

      Hi MB212, my S212 Hybrid have the original battery Varta A 005 541 10 01 - 12V 95Ah CCA 850 A.
      Todays and after 7 winters and 120k she gived me warning for change. I've checked the voltage and both batteries are OK.
      The only thing I can say about the warnings it's bcz I've not driving the car much they need to be charged. Since then and when the cockpit gives the alert I make 20-30km and charge for next morning.

    Just switched a new battery to my old and faithful 2009 W212 and did it like on this video. Very simple. I think the old battery was traditional lead battery and the new one with EFB tech.

  • @ericwilliams995

    Very nice video. Nice clear and well lit shots. Great comments on the screen. I replaced both batteries in my 2011 E350 today, and this video really helped with the big one under the hood. The little battery under the dash was much harder to replace! (and the video I found on that replacement wasn't as good as this video on the big battery).

    MB cars with the ECO function (stop and start) has a tendency to kill the battery. The ECO function is not getting turned on when the battery is to week.
    When I look on the service history on my E350 -16 the battery is changed 4 times up to 70000km. Was this the case for you this time?

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a lot of changes. On my old with ECO I never changed the main battery and had that car for around 3 years. Not sure when this battery was changed. ECO function still worked before change but the diesel heater did not work good.

      Hi guy's, my s212 hybrid have the same batteries and now with 120k they've given some warnings. I've check the voltage and it's OK. Both batteries measured around 14 V with the alternator running. So my experience says, the short trip's aren't good for batteries. Since then I made some 20-30 kms trip's and the batteries answering well. The winter in Portugal isn't like Sweden but by morning here we fill also negative temperatures. I hope this information will helps.

    Why you changed the battery? I mean the original one from Mercedes is better right?

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Changed the battery because the old was bad, could not use my diesel heater because of that. Not sure but I probably would had bought a mb battery if I had any dealer here in town, was to expensive to order it online. But YUASA is a quality also so is going to work good.

    • @crazypict
      @crazypict 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MB212 I am not sure that if you have a problem with your diesel heater it will be fine by replacing the battery. The heater ads load on the battery and the capacity needs to be increased. So as long you don't add capacity you might end up replacing the battery every second year or so.

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Got you, but this battery was not 100% healthy and the previous owner had bought the 92Ah battery. This model with diesel heater should have 95Ah as the new battery. That’s mainly a problem when using the heater often, and not driving long enough to recharge the battery. But I going to install a special maintenance battery charger so is not going to be any problem.
