Finally got round to doing it as old battery was really struggling. Weird thing now it starts a lot quieter (much lower revs). Did you notice this as well Ken?
Just replaced my MB battery. Lasted exactly 4 years. Thanks for the tutorial. Also don’t forget to plug the opposite vent hole with thermal cap that comes with the battery.
Amazing videos! I was searching the walmart website and it seems like they are saying only the size H6 is compatible for the W212, versus the H7. Is this true? Trying to order one online and want to make sure I'm getting the right size. Thanks
I have changed it 2 weeks ago and couldn find especially for w212 e63s 2014-2016 and somehow found for 2010-2012 w212 battery replacement video. But anyway, thank you
Great video. I think I just got conned by the dealership. They charged a large amount for battery replacement on my 2012 e63 AMG. They mentioned a charge for programming. What is that all about. ? Looks like you just popped yours right in.
Nice and easy video, thanks. Can you advise on the stop start system please as mine always says inactive even after driving for 30 mins plus? How many mins should it take to get active approximately? Thank you 👍🏎👍
That is one of the signs of a weak battery. It will always say inactive, even once the car is warmed up. Replace the battery, and it will activate again.
@@ExoticCarDIYthanks for the clarification, I had the same issue only in the last couple of months, I just thought I wasn’t driving for long enough until last weekend I took the family on a 4 hour trip and once we arrived in the city it still said inactive, made me wonder if it could well just be a sensor or something. Now I know to change it! Thank
Nice video. One quick question about TCU, I've heard of 2014 model year has a sluggish TCU tune compared to the 2015-16 model year. Is there anyway we can fix it?
Thanks for doing these videos. Very helpful 👌 Question: Can I add universal cats without de-tuning? 😆 A couple of months ago I picked up a 730 WHP AMS Alpha Performance tuned 2016 E63 with catless downpipes and custom catback 3" exhaust system. Wanted to add 2 universal cats to help reduce the gasoline smell from the exhaust in my garage and for emissions compliance purposes 🤷🏽♂️ Can I just add cats? Anything to worry about?
Not sure, I would assume so, but I'm still researching this myself. One problem with putting these vids online... I can't make a video of installing catless downpipes without risking getting in trouble. So my only option would be aftermarket cats
@@winstonw5273 pretty much the general consensus from everybody on the forums is 5soko with the Edok tune is by far the best. I still am on the fence, but if I get a TCU tune, it will definitely be with him. You can look him up on the forms or IG

I’m having an issue in my 2014 E63-S where my key fob works fine, battery is good, key fob is good etc everything works. But when I go to start the car (whether with the push button, or putting the key in the ignition and turning) the car does NOTHING. It’s acting like my foot isn’t on the brake, it just goes to position 2 acting like I’m not trying to start the car. Doesn’t try to turn over or anything. Did it randomly a few times and after pressing on and off like 20+ times it randomly started. This happened more and more and now no matter how many times I try it won’t start. Any ideas? I’ve heard of faulty brake light switch not detecting your foot on the brake? Any help would be awesome
It could be a couple things, possibly a faulty battery. I don't mean dead, I mean that it just for some reason can't provide the starting current even though it shows power. Most likely it does sound like the brake switch which is mounted just in front of the brake pedal shaft. One easy test is just to have somebody observe the brake lights. The other options I could think of are possibly a loose connection at a battery
@@ExoticCarDIY thank you for the reply! I can see the brake lights lighting up when I press it, but I’ve read of instances where it still lights up but isn’t signaling the ECU to start the car. It does make a quick whirring sound when I turn it over. Other than that it does nothing. The strange thing is I’ll start it cold after a week of not driving it, starts right up. Drove to the mall, Came out an hour later to go home and it does this not starting thing. Pushed the button like 30 times and eventually it just starts. But now I’ve spend hours pressing it and nothing is happening at all yet. Started randomly, then over time did it more and more until now where it won’t start no matter what.
@@ExoticCarDIY surprisingly enough, I pulled the starter motor relay on the fuse panel, plugged it back in and it started immediately after! I thought we were supposed to use a separate power source to keep power to the electronics while the battery was swapped to prevent damage to the computers? You don't believe that's necessary?

@@ahmedpatel5005 it’s been great! Replaced the camshaft position sensors and solenoids (except for one I couldn’t reach but also installed sacrificial harnesses). Would an H8 (49) AGM fit?
Edit: for those wondering, no, it won't. (Did not fit in my 2016 C207 W212 E400)

What year was your original battery? Mine is stamped 2018 and I’m thinking about going ahead and replacing it as a preventative.
I believe mine was the original 2016
Does anything loose calibration or have to be re-initialized after the replacement ?
Not that I know of.
Nope... The aux battery keeps all your settings
