    I'm genuinely confused. Really enjoyed the clip however Im surprised how low the stock HP figure was without the cat?? Yamaha claim 160hp at the crank (140 real world hp at the wheel) - However I have a 2018 MT10 (the faster blue ones ha ha ha) and have had it dyno tuned here in the UK (Junction 33 - North West) - and it ran 145hp at the back wheel (stock with Cat on) and then ECU flashed gave it 152hp at the back wheel (same stock exhaust on with cat) - the power and torque figures were all increased substantially on all 20/30/40/50/60% throttle openings too. Soooo my question is, are the bikes that are shipped over to the US heavily restricted to meet tougher emission laws over there? I feel as though you lot are missing out :(

    • @ErebosOnTwoWheels
      @ErebosOnTwoWheels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know this is an old comment, but stock North American ECUs are programmed different than the ones for other markets around the world. Also, different dynos read different and the weather conditions make a difference as well.

      I have to respectfully disagree. From a Jet Skier since the 80’s and still now, their PWC stuff was some of the best out there. And that’s no bull. Also, I’ve installed one of their motorcycle slip-ons and while they obviously don’t make power, the actual “quality“ is very good.

  • @AM-nk7it
    @AM-nk7it 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yeah an improvement for sure, but you're showing speed (mph) at the bottom. So, hey guys so if you're now doing 135 mph you have another 34 HP. So your acceleration will be much improved from 120 mph to 135 mph because now you have 34 more HP and because you're there every day on your mountain twistie ride, or commuting on a regular ride day, you're going to feel the difference. But hey, if you're doing 30 mph you'll benefit another 3 to 5 HP up to 105 mph.
    34 HP gain @ 13500 rpm is not useful, unless you're drag racing or at the track. 90 % of the times you ride you're in between 4000 and 8000 and you probably have another 4 HP there.
    Show us RPM x HP and torque curve. Now we'll know what kind of tuning we're getting, won't we?

    I've just had my MT10 dyno'd here in the UK and it pulled 150.8bhp, I'm kinda disappointed since I've decatted it, put an SP engineering can on and a P08 F1-85 sprint filter in there and removed the snorkel in the air box 🤔 I've seen these bikes making up to 163bhp

      Remember run your bike on five Dynos and YOU WILLget five HP numbers. Some are wildly optimistic in their numbers. All that matters is what it read before and after ON THE SAME DYNO.

    I dont understand the point of the resonator with a shorty coffman exhaust. They cancel out each other. Just throw a LeoVance full system on it, or any full system with a can. Those shorty gp slip-ons are stupid loud.

    I thought MT-10 from factory produces 160 HP.

    When you tune the ignition timing, do you use some form of knock detection?

    • @bailey9r
      @bailey9r 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Yam has Knock detection built in. Poor gas will make it retard the timing.

    how can you dislike video like this? when i get mine i'm definetely doing this but picking probably an SC , AR exhaust or Akra. don't you have to disconnect the O2 sensor as well? i read that somewhere. quick note for more traction and accurate reading you need to sit on the bike. basically a stock exhaust is better than a high end exhaust? don't make sense. pls try different headers, complete exhaust from different brands to see which one rocks this bike to its full potential and maybe a power commander?
