  • Watch Episode 5 of the women’s post-season recap of the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games.
    Forty women from around the world have assembled in Madison, Wisconsin, to contend for the title of Fittest on Earth.
    Day 1 of the competition is billed as the toughest since the Games began in 2007. It features four events: Crit, 30 Muscle-Ups, CrossFit Total, and Marathon Row.
    Kicking off the CrossFit Games, Crit challenges athletes in a way many have never faced. The criterium bike race consists of 10 laps around a 1,200-meter track. Second on the menu is a high-skill gymnastics test: 30 muscle-ups as fast as possible. For the third event, athletes completed a 1-rep-max back squat, shoulder press, and deadlift. The last event of the day is the longest ever at the CrossFit Games. For Marathon Row, all competitors, male and female, gathered together on the floor of the Coliseum to complete 42,195 meters on the Concept2 rowers.
    Enjoy this look back at Day 1 of the women's competition at the CrossFit Games as we count down the days until this year’s week-long festival and competition.
    The Games begin Aug. 1. Single-day tickets are now on sale: smarturl.it/2019GamesTix

    This is nice to see as I was really missing the fact that there was no Fittest on Earth video this year. It adds some much-needed momentum to a season that has been slowly dying since the Rogue Invitational.

    i really missed having a documentary from the 2018 games and no real lead up features since the sacking of the media team. this was some much needed video time... but still.. not the same feel. hopefully its better for next season

    33:55 I completely understand what they are saying. The conversion constant from pounds to kilos is irrational, but values about 0,45. That means 100 lbs is the same as 45 kilos. That's not an easy conversion for many people, and that extra thinking time is indeed a disadvantage. Rogue sells weights in kilos, what if they by default provided those to non american athletes and put the burden of conversion on both the refs and the broadcast crew?

    • @mdr8661
      @mdr8661 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because Rogue is an American company and Crossfit is an American company...

    • @rubensousa9216
      @rubensousa9216 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mdr8661 Rogue is a multinational company... they sell in kilos, as they obviously wouldn't want to miss profiting everywhere else in the world. Crossfit sells itself as a worldwide sport, and its top 10 athletes from both categories are mostly not american.
      This isn't 2008 anymore.

    • @brassholio
      @brassholio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      They should just do it in kilos. Pounds shouldn't be used anywhere anymore.

    Pounds to Kilo - you should just use the colour of the plates. Generally red plates are 55lb/25kg, blue plates 45lb/20kg, yellow plates 35lb/15kg green plates 25lb/10kg roughly.

    • @stankyshrimp4690

      It’s easier and faster the way they’re doing it and they don’t have to do proper pull-ups for it to count. If they did proper pull-ups they would lose time and energy.
