  • The 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games are less than a month away. Enjoy this post-season show, covering men’s Day 1 from last year’s Games, as we count down the days until this year’s week-long festival.
    The competition begins Aug. 1. Single-day tickets are now on sale: smarturl.it/2019GamesTix
    In 2018, the CrossFit Games kicked off with one of the toughest days in Games history - four events in 12 hours. Athletes were tested in ways they never had been before.
    The day consisted of a criterium bike race, 30 muscle-ups for time, the CrossFit Total, and a marathon row.
    The CrossFit Games are not a showcase of athletes. The Games are a test, and that test has begun.
    Stay on top of the latest updates and accommodations in the on-site tab: games.crossfit.com/games/info

    I really like that they started to add more cardio events to crossfit. It was starting to be a muscular only competition in the beginning. A well rounded athlete is a better crossfit example for the sport.

    Is everyone on the same resistance on the rowing machine competition? If so it was somewhat unrealistic compared to real rowing without compensating for differing participant weights. In real rowing competition you're primarily looking at watts/kilo. I assume here everyone is on the same resistance. I guess for this competition it is what it is, but, it doesn't translate to real rowing.

    • @MrBwall83
      @MrBwall83 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh i think they can choose resistance themselves. Rowing is one of a few exercises in Crossfit that benefits taller and heavier athletes.

      @@casualarrogance Yes I can do a strict muscle up. These people are doing kipping muscle ups. Yes everybody can do a marathon row, but on a rowing machine it is not healthy at all to do a marathon, because the machine isnt made for this and you will fk up your back from it. Most people that are above average fit and practiced handstands for a little bit are able to do a handstand walk. The elite handstand is comepletly straight, which no crossfitter is able to hold. They all just have a banana stand.
      I did crossfit for 2 years back then and I hate that these guys think of themselves as the best in the world, because CROSSFIT....
      Yeah, one argument is right. There are crossfitters who are extremely good at snatching. But thats it, an olympic weightlifter is still talking trash on their form and any other lifts they are doing.

    • @richardbrunet9896
      @richardbrunet9896 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benjaminmohler9589 Sure if your only criterium for a rep is "range of motion", then yes, they go from extended arms at the bottom, to extended arms at the top. But they use an insane amount of swing/kipping to gain momentum in order to get there.
      I'd rather see fewer Strict muscle ups with good form (no swing, no kipping, using your own strenght), than many "reps" all over the place. It would also be safer so I'm not sure why they won't do it that way.
